Dreams Come True...

THE DREAM

It was the middle of the night when Erika Potter woke with a start. Sweat were dripping off her face, flashes of her dream crossing her mind.

A man in black robes, with his face covered, walked down a path towards a house. Inside the house was a woman carrying a baby and a man telling the woman to run. There was a flash of green light and the man lay dead on the ground. The other man continued on through the house going up a flight of stairs and into a room on the left, were a woman stood holding her baby tightly, trying to protect it. The woman had bright red hair and bright green eyes. Tears were rolling down her smooth skin. She was pleading with the man under the hood. He didn't have a word of it; another flash of green light and the woman lay dead on the floor with the baby still in her arms. The man pointed the wand at the baby, and then there was another flash of green light. A mixture of purple and red connected the baby to the wand. The hooded man was screaming and slowly he disappeared from under the hood, there was nothing but a black cloak lying on the floor near the baby.

Erika new this story all too well. This was the story of her father Harry Potter, the one who defeated the Dark Lord more than once; he was and is named, "The Boy Who Lived". He was also the man who destroyed Lord Voldemort.

Erika lay awake for the rest of the night thinking about her father.

She couldn't believe it, she had been awake since 3:45 in the morning and it was now 8. She heard the scrambling of her parents down stairs. She got up and walked over to her bathroom. She undressed and stepped into the shower, the warm water washing over her. Once she had finished she got dressed into some jeans and a tank top and began drying her hair with her towel. She then brushed her silky black hair and went downstairs for breakfast.

Erika was a tall, slim girl with straight jet-black hair and green eyes. She looked just like her father except she didn't wear glasses (that was obviously from her mother's side).

Her mother's name was Ginny Potter. She used to be one of the nine members of the Weasley family.

Erika was 13 and was about to begin her 3rd year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with her best friends, her cousin Nathan Weasley (her mother's older brother, Ron's son), and her other best friend Natalie Baroque.

Nathan had bright red her like all the Weasleys and a few freckles and he was a head taller than Erika. Natalie was the same height as Erika and had long blond hair that was always tied tightly back and finished in a curl.

Erika walked into the kitchen and sat at the breakfast table next to her father. "Morning, Dad, morning, Mom," she said smiling as she grabbed a piece of toast and began buttering it.

"Morning, Erika," they both replied.

"Get ready sweetie, we're going to Diagon Alley to buy your school things, your Hogwarts letters came this morning," Harry said while he was drinking his tea.

"Great! Are we going all together, you know with Nathan and Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron?" Erika asked.

"Yes, we are meeting up at the Leaky Cauldron," Ginny answered as she handed Erika some milk.

"Dad, do you think Jason will pick me for the Quidditch team, now that that Lucas boy transferred?" She asked her dad.

"Well, you're the best Seeker in the school; somehow I don't think some new fifth year is going to change that," he replied confidently as he looked into her green eyes with his.

"Dad, don't say that, you know he is going to be competition for me at the tryouts!" she exclaimed with frustration at her dad's calmness.

Harry looked up, smiling, "You remind me so much of your mother when she was in her third year...look Erika there is no need to worry, you have the talent from both your mother and I, not that I am trying to brag, but it's true," he finished by putting his hand on Erika's.

"C'mon, grab your coat, we should be off," he said getting up and putting his coat on, Ginny following in his suit.

Erika put her last bit of toast in her mouth, walked over to the closet under the stairs and grabbed her coat.

"Are we going to fly?" She asked with as smirk.

"No!" Ginny replied.

"Why not? It's much quicker!" Harry added, as he smiled at Erika.

"Yes, but -"

"But what Mom? Please, I really want to show you and Dad my new duck and sweep trick, which I've practised over the summer," she said with her puppy eyes.

"Oh...alright!" Ginny exclaimed with a smile.

The three of them got their brooms and stood in a line outside in their backyard, and pushed off the ground heading for the Leaky Cauldron.

**************************

When they arrived at the Leaky Cauldron they said good morning to the bar tender, Tom, and headed for the back room to enter Diagon Alley. Inside Uncle Ron, Aunt Hermione and Nathan were waiting there for them.

"Hey!" Erika squealed, running to give Nathan a hug.

"Hey Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron," she added with an embarrassed look.

"Hi sweetheart," Aunt Hermione said as she came over and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Hi darling," Uncle Ron added.

After they all said their hellos and hugs and kisses, they were off. Harry tapped a few bricks and a gateway to Diagon Alley appeared.

Nathan and Erika were off exploring all the wonderful shops. They went to buy some ice cream, and headed toward their favourite shop, "Quality Quidditch Supplies". Both Erika and Nathan played on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, Erika playing Seeker and Nathan playing Keeper, and were obsessed with their broomsticks and when the new upgrade would be.

"Dad said he'd buy me the Firebolt 2000!" Erika exclaimed jumping up and down.

"Really! My parents said I could only get it if I get good grades in most of my subjects," he said annoyed as he flicked through the broom cases.

"Oh...don't worry, I'll make sure you get those required grades Nate," she giggled.

"Why are you laughing? My parents aren't easy going like yours," he replied with a smirk.

"Oh I never said I was just getting it, I have a pact with my Dad..." she said smirking back at him.

"Really? And what might that be?"

"Dad said once I got into the team, and play my first game, I have to catch the Snitch in the first ten minutes of the game letting us win by 220 points," she said as she rolled her eyes at the idea and smiled.

"Wow! That's some pact you got there...But how do you know you'll get into the team, you know that Lucas dude." she said hesitantly.

"Dad says he is very confident about me getting my same position back on the Gryffindor team, and that I am the 'best' Seeker in the school, and that some fifth year transferrer is not going to change anything." she rambled emphasising 'best' laughing at the way Nathan was looking at her, and continuing through the Quidditch supplies.

"You know I think I need a new broom cleaning kit for my broom," she added with a sure look on her face. Nathan stood their laughing at his cousin's way of working.

As Nathan and Erika walked out of Quality Quidditch supplies, with two huge bags filled with special Quidditch goodies, they heard their name being called from across the street. It was Natalie, their best friend; she too was shopping with her parents.

"C'mon, let's go see 'annoying' and her 'quick facts'," Erika said with a friendly smile.

"Hey hottie!" Natalie called to them as they walked toward her.

"Hey annoying!" Erika said bopping her head.

"Oh! How could you...Ahhhhh!" she squealed, running towards Erika and hugging her tightly.

"Hey Nate," Natalie said after breaking free from Erika and hugging Nathan.

"Hey Nat," he said hugging her back with a smile.

"So how was your summer? You only wrote me three times, what was that about?" she asked sternly.

"Things got a bit hectic, down at my place!" Erika said with a bit uncertainty. She wasn't sure how to tell Natalie about her very 'dreamy' summer.

"What's that supposed to mean? C'mon spit it out," she said sounding motherly.

"Wrong place to talk about it, let's go get a milkshake and sit down," Erika insisted, leading the way to the most occupied café so they would not be over heard.

Erika ordered three chocolate milkshakes with extra cream, and paid the bartender. The man helped Erika with a bit of magic bringing the milkshakes to the table. She thanked him and handed out the milkshakes, as she took her seat. She began sipping her milkshake and tried to ignore the looks from Nathan and Natalie.

She couldn't handle their stares any longer so with frustration she burst out "Ohhhh, ok well," she began, "over the summer I've been having these dreams of my Dad...you know how he was the one who defeated Lord Voldemort," she said as she waited for them to nod.

"Oh yeah," they both nodded.

"Ok, well I've been having the same dream of the night when Lord Voldemort came the first night to kill and didn't succeed. I keep seeing my grandfather dieing and my grandmother pleading for her life," she finished her eyebrows raised, as she shook her head and continued to drink her milkshake.

"Wow! Maybe it means something?" Natalie said with her thinking tone.

"Have you talked to your parents about it?" Nathan added.

"No! And I don't plan to, it'll just give them another reason to worry, and then they'll be over my head like no tomorrow!" she said carelessly.

Both Nathan and Natalie looked at her and then shook their heads continuing to drink their milkshake.

"What?" Erika exclaimed.

"We just thought that this is probably something to worry about Erika!" Natalie said with a worried look.

"Don't do that Nat...you always make me do what I don't want to!" Erika said beginning to laugh.

"Were your friends, oh and cousin, and we worry about you," Nathan said.

"We know you like to be independent and look out for yourself, but it's our right to look after you," Natalie expressed with great eagerness.

"Okay, I'll tell them before we leave on Monday, is that good enough?" she said with frustration as she finished her milkshake, while picking up her shopping bags and decided to leave. The other two followed closely behind.

The three of them met up with their parents at Flourish and Blotts.

"You guys did some catching up, it seems," Harry said looking at the three of them, Erika and Nathan carrying huge bags of Quidditch supplies.

"Yeah heaps!" Erika said annoyed as she pushed past her dad and went looking through the bookshelfs.

"What's up with her?" Harry asked the other two.

They both shrugged their shoulders and went to find Erika.

Once they had all finished shopping they all met up with Natalie's parents and went to have lunch at the Leaky Cauldron.

After lunch had finished they all headed out. Nathan and Erika said goodbye to Natalie and her parents and both families headed off towards the Burrow for dinner at their grandparents.
