I wrote all this up at two in the morning, and I like it! I am still hoping for a D/Hr romance, even though I'm a true H/Hr shipper at heart! ;-) So please review and thanks for reading!!

~*~Night Keeps All Your Heart~*~

'Being Head Boy is so much more irritating than I thought it would be,' Draco thought as he leaned against the wall, supposed to be keeping a watch on the halls on the second floor to make sure no students were up out of bed. 'Especially with that Granger as Head Girl.' A tall girl suddenly walked passed him and he snapped back to reality.

"What do you think you're doing out of bed?" he said and she stopped in her tracks and slowly turned around.

"I'm Hermione you twat," she snapped. Her long brown bushy hair was cascading down her shoulders and Draco actually felt his eyes traveling up and down her body, his heart doing a strange flip-flop every so often. 'You don't like a Mudblood, you can't! It's totally against your morals,' he heard a thought in his head but commanded it to shut up.

"Got a problem?" she said, catching him staring.

"No," he sneered back and rolled his eyes, trying to conceal his feelings. "What are you doing on his corridor? Yours is on the third floor."

"Never mind what I'm doing," she said and put her hands on her hips, fixing him with a death stare.

"Meeting your boyfriend Weasley for a sweet midnight stroll? Or Potter? Which one? Maybe it's both," Draco smirked. Hermione walked up to him, centimeters from him.

"Don't you dare call them my boyfriends," she said in a low voice and Draco could smell her minty toothpaste on her breath. 'Damn her for being so hot,' he thought.

"Yeah? Well I thought they were," Draco said and she raised her hand as if to slap him but he caught her wrist in mid-air. Hermione looked like she gulped but kept her cool if she did.

"Get off me," her voice quivered.

"Why? Just self-defense," he said.

"Since when have you needed self-defense?" she said softly but then shook her head. "Get off of me." she repeated. Draco dropped her hand and quickly leaned back against the wall.

"Why don't you just go back to your own floor?"

"Why don't you get off my case?" she turned to go but he grabbed her arm and she whippped around. "What in hell is your problem? You told me to leave and so I am! Leave me alone!" she said and suddenly Draco's typical teenage hormones got the better of him and he pulled her to him in a kiss, short but passionate. When they pulled away, Hermione looked slightly amazed, and breathed in slowly.

"Why did you just do that?"

"Why do you think?" Draco snapped. His lips were still tingling and he could feel his heartbeat in his ears.

"You can't like me!"

"And why not?"

"Because you're...you're Draco Malfoy!"

"So?"

"You just can't!"

"But I do,"

"Yeah, I know." Hermione whipped around and walked off, leaving Draco to ponder what she'd just said. Did that mean she loved him too? He ran after her.

"Do you love me too?" he called. She kept on walking.

"Yeah!" she shouted, "Now stop bothering me!"

Suddenly he really didn't care if she was a bossy Gryffindor, Muggle-born or even Potter's friend.
