"Where's my poor, sick honey?" Ron called as he entered Hermione's house the next day.

"Here," Hermione said, holding up her hand. She was lying on the couch in front of the television.

He came over and kissed her on the forehead.

"You're late," Hermione said, noticing the time on the clock. It read 1:55.

"I'm sorry," Ron apologised. "Mum kept finding other things I should bring to you. Which reminds me..."

Ron held up a jar, filled with some sort of soup. "It's Mum's secret recipe."

"She didn't have to do that," Hermione said.

"Well, you know Mum..." Ron said, rolling his eyes.

"Could you just put it in the kitchen?" Hermione asked.

Ron took the soup into the kitchen and returned to her side.

"So, what have you been doing all day?" Ron asked.

"I looked at wedding dresses, I watched a horror movie, and I read two romance novels," Hermione said.

"Seems like you had a very productive day," Ron said with a smile.

"Well, I didn't want to get too consumed in something," Hermione said, putting on a pouting face. "You said you'd be over around noon and you're two hours late."

"I'm sorry," Ron said. "But I promise I'll spend the rest of the day with you."

"No!" Hermione gasped.

"You don't want to spend the day with me?"

"No, it's not that," Hermione said quickly. "It's just that I don't want you to get sick too." Hermione knew it was a lie. There was no chance that he'd get sick if this wasn't really the stomach flu, but she had to think of something. "Plus, Ginny's coming over at three. You know, for some girl time."

"Okay," Ron agreed. "I'll only stay for a half an hour."

For the rest of their time together, Ron sat with Hermione and watched a movie. And after a half an hour, Ron left, just as promised.

"Get well soon," he said, kissing her on the cheek.

'Get well soon,' Hermione thought. 'That's not likely.'

Ginny flooed over at three, like she had promised.

"Do you have any idea how hard it was to get this past my mum?" Ginny asked, holding up the pregnancy test. "I had to sneak in her bathroom, then past the kitchen where she was cooking, then answer a few questions, like where I was going and such, before getting here."

"I don't know how I'll ever repay you, Ginny," Hermione said, hugging her.

"You won't," Ginny assured her. "Now, go into the bathroom and follow the directions." Ginny handed her the box.

"I cant' do this, Ginny," Hermione said, staring at the box as if it were a giant spider about to attack.

"C'mon," Ginny said, dragging her into the bathroom.

Ginny opened the package. "It says here, that you pee on this, like a Muggle pregnancy test, then you wait," Ginny said, reading the box. "The thing will turn pink if you're pregnant. Above, it will say who the father is."

Ginny handed the kit to Hermione and left. Hermione stared at it, a look of horror on her face.

Hermione followed the directions very carefully and once she had finished, Hermione looked at the piece of plastic in her hands. It glowed a light pink, and directly above it was written the name she had been hoping to not see.

George Weasley.
