A Road Less Traveled

Severus Snape contemplates the events of the HBP and relives the memories of several key events not yet in canon such as the meeting with Voldemort after GOF, the nature of the mysterious relationship between Snape and the Malfoys, and the events on the tower with Dumbledore in this author's attempt to explore a duty bound Snape.

Voldemort demands answers from Severus Snape after making him suffer through an almost unbearable Cruciatus Curse after arriving two hours late to the rebirthing summons. The second chapter takes place mostly as a post GOF flashback from Snape with info from HBP.

Severus Snape leaves the thoughts of the Dark Lord behind and remembers the reason why he is in this mess in the first place: Narcissa Malfoy. We learn why Snape is not especially liked in the Death Eater circle, but how he is still friends with Lucius as Severus is propositioned to do Lucius and Narcissa a "favor" in order to produce an heir. Implied SS/NM, but still PG-13 for now...

Severus Snape is coerced by Lucius Malfoy into trying to impregnate his wife Narcissa. However, Severus is a little short on experience. Will he finally agree?

We finally see the bedroom scene between Severus, Narcissa, and Lucius. All is not what it seems.
