I knew that he liked me since the beginning. Our eyes has met for the first time when I watched him play Quidditch and even though Ravenclaw lost that day I felt oddly exhilarated and giddy, mesmerized by the look in his eyes and the small smile on his lips.

He was tall and mysterious with thick brown hair that I would run between my fingertips and dark grey eyes that held warmth. He was also shy but he was kind, gentle, and sweet.

When he took my hand for the first time I felt a strange tingling inside myself. His hand fit so perfectly in mine it felt so right, so comfortable. And when we danced everything was a blur except for us dancing to our tune, his arm around my waist and my face pressed against his robe...

He was so confident and collect, holding my chin and touching my neck when he kissed me. How I loved him even in the simple time when we would lay on the grass and held each other watching the sunset glittering over the lake.

I did not talked to him recently though, he was too busy preparing himself for the final task. My last words to him were, "I love you, please be careful." And swift kiss on the lips. His face relaxed into a smile and took me up into his arms. I never wanted to let go, I wanted to be always safe and warm in his arms.

As I sat in the stands next to Marietta, my palms were sweaty and a sense of dread evaded my senses.

"How do you think he's going to do?"

My friends stare at me as if I was mad.

"How do you think he's going to ?"

I didn't answer, something was wrong. My voice was choked up in my throat and my mind was going hazy.

In the ring below Cedric paced nervously by his entrance into the maze. His eyes were on the floor and his yellow and black robes swirling behind him as he prepared himself for the last task.

No one could see me fretting, worrying. I wiped my palms nervously on my robes. I had never felt more scared in my life. I wanted to call out him so badly but I held myself together, held my composure.

A cheer went up and the champions were getting ready for their entry into the maze. I leaned forward my eyes glittering with a mixture of fear and delight.

Cedric looked up, his eyes scanning the crowd and his eyes roved to mine...and...and... I felt a sense of fear and foreboding in his. His mouth was half parted as if he was about to say something to me but the cannon went off and the task began. I stood up quickly but he was gone into the maze already, swallowed up by the row of hedges.

That last look always haunted me.
