Don't Worry About It

"Yeah, right," James said, laughing slightly.

"No, really, especially if your insulting that darling cousin of mine," Christ said.

"Uh-huh, sure," James said, still not believing her.

"Well, think about it. If you two attack Lucius," Christ said logically. "Then at least one of you will be fighting him. If it's in front of me, then one of you will be fighting me. If it's in front of Lucius's friends, you'll be fighting them as well."

"What, don't you think we have friends?" Sirius said indignantly.

Christ glanced at Lily. "No," they both laughed at the same time.

"And why not?" Sirius asked.

"No one is stupid enough to be around you," Lily said. At the same time, Christ said, "No one is crazy enough to be near you." They both laughed again.

"They're all the same," James muttered, jokingly. "All think they're better than you are."

"You should be glad I'm not like most of my family," Christ said.

"What happened to that be polite to strangers stuff?" James asked, grinning slightly.

"Did I say the Reynolds side? I meant Mom's side. You know that argument you heard the day you and Megan came to get me?" Christ asked, glancing at Lily. When Lily nodded, she continued. "Well, I didn't want to go to Hogwarts because Megan couldn't go. Mom, however, had made a 180 and decided that I had to go, all because she thinks Megan is a bad influence."

Lily looked shocked. She was about to say something, when Mrs. Potter spoke up. "Christ, I promised your aunt that you would be home in about five minutes. We need to go."

At that moment, Mr. and Mrs. Evans walked into the pub, followed, somewhat grudgingly by Petunia.

"Lily, it's time to go!" Mr. Evans called. "Why hello, Christ."

"Hello Mr. Evans," Christ replied, smiling. "Hey, Lily, do you want to spend the night at my house?"

"Won't you need to ask McGonagall first?" Lily asked.

"I doubt it," Christ said. "But I guess I should ask first." She walked over to the fireplace.

Lily watched, fascinated. She had never actually seen anyone using the floo network. Sure, she had heard about it, but she still hadn't seen it.

"She says that you can, but everyone else must stay at their own houses. Apparently 10 months is all she can put up with you three," Christ said, motioning towards Remus, James, and Sirius. Sirius grinned triumphantly, Remus blushed, and James glanced worriedly back at his parents. Christ just smirked, looking even more like Malfoy, and dragged Lily towards to fireplace.

The Downfall of Western Civilization

"We're back," Christ sang, climbing out of the fireplace.

"Christ, Miss Evans," Minerva said, not looking up from her book. "Christ, I suggest you call Megan without delay. She has been calling, and that last one sounded quite frantic."

Christ immediately dropped down. While she was waiting for it to connect, Lily was nervously shifting from foot to foot. After all, how would you like to go spend the night at one of your teachers' house?

"Megan, what's wrong?" they heard Christ ask into the flames. Megan replied with something that they couldn't hear. "I'll ask to make sure, but I'm sure it is." Glancing over her shoulder, Christ addressed her aunt. "Can Megan still go to Hogwarts?"

"Of course," Minerva replied quickly.

"You still can. Come on over," Christ said. She listened to Megan for a little bit longer, and then cut the connection.

"What made them change their mind?" Lily asked, curiously.

"That's for me to know and you to find out," Christ said. "Come on, I'll show you my room, where you'll be staying tonight. Then we can pick out a room for Megan." The pair left the room.

When Megan finally arrived, McGonagall handed her a letter. "This just came for you," she said, and then left the room.

Megan quickly scanned it, and then turned to Christ. "It's about...well, you know." Christ nodded.

"I need to talk to Aunt Minerva about something. Lily, why don't you show Megan the room we picked out for her. I'll meet you both in my room," Christ said. She followed her aunt out.

"Well, lets go," Megan said. She picked up one end of the trunk that she had arrived with, and followed Lily upstairs. Lily was amazed to see that she had no problem dragging it, even though it must have been very heavy.

Meanwhile, back to Christ and her aunt...

"Aunt Minerva, may I ask you something after I've finished asking this question?" Christ asked, sitting down by her aunt at the dining room table.

"Of course," her aunt said, smiling slightly.

"Where will Megan be during the full moon? I want to stay with her."

"Care to explain the sudden death wish? Locked in a building all night with a werewolf isn't exactly good for one's health."

"Yeah, to a human's health."

"Do you have opposable thumbs?" When Christ nodded, Minerva continued, "I do believe that you qualify as a human, my dear, however much you may like to deny it."

"What I meant," Christ said, tempted to roll her eyes, although she didn't when she remembered her aunt was not only a McGonagall, but a teacher. "Is that, as an animal, I could stay with her."

"And just how do you plan to manage that?"

"You're the transfiguration professor, why don't you tell me?"

"Don't be a smart aleck."

"Fine. I'm a multimagus, as well as a metamorphagus," Christ said, feeling as if she was explaining this to a five year old instead of a transfiguration professor.

"As much as I'd love to let you, there will be another werewolf down there. We don't even know for sure what the pair's reaction to each other will be, let alone throwing a third animal into the mix."

"But I may be able to help. I always have Megan. And if Remus doesn't like it, I'll leave and won't go back," Christ said, trying to be persuasive.

"I'll think about-How did you know Remus was the other one?" her aunt asked, perplexed.

"The way he looked at my rings in the Leaky Cauldron," Christ answered, shrugging. "I offered to shake his hand, but I guess he sensed silver. I did have a silver necklace on, so I guess that did it. He was staring at my rings, though, which were platinum. He also looked almost exactly like Megan always does after the full moon, only he looked like he was in more pain."

"Well, like I said, I'll see what I can do. However, a letter has been sent to Remus, and he will be here to meet Megan sometime tomorrow, so you'll have to get Lily away from here."

"That won't be too hard. She has to meet her parents outside of the Leaky Cauldron at 10, they have to leave then so they can be home to greet her grandparents."

"Alright. You had better get back up to your guests." With that, Christ left the room.

Meanwhile, at the Potter house, where Remus was staying with James and Sirius...

"What's the letter, Remus?" Sirius asked, walking into the room. He had just been down to the kitchen. They had eaten a huge dinner, and he was still hungry.

"It's a letter from Hogwarts," Remus said, looking puzzled. As he read it, his expression grew steadily more shocked.

"What's it say?" James said, looking up from the magazine he was reading.

"Apparently, another werewolf will be coming to Hogwarts, but not a first year. A transfer student. I'm supposed to go over to McGonagall's sometime tomorrow to meet them, and make sure we'll get along well enough to be able to be in that enclosed of a space together," Remus said, reading the letter again to make sure he had everything right.

"Well, that's another person that we'll have to let in on our secret," Sirius said, glancing at James. James just nodded.

"Did it actually work?" Remus asked, tearing his eyes away from the letter long enough to glance at each of his friends. He almost wished Peter was there as well, but he always went on vacation with his family almost all summer.

"Of course it worked," James said, turning back to his magazine.

"Do you want to see?" Sirius asked.

"Sure," Remus shrugged.

Suddenly, instead of sharing the room with two boys, a large black dog and a stag were with him. The stag continued to read the magazine as if nothing had happened. They pair quickly changed back.

"See?" James said, still not looking up.

"I wonder if it's Christ," Sirius said, sitting down on the bed.

"What?" Remus asked, still thinking about the latest accomplishment.

"I wonder if the other werewolf is Christ," Sirius explained. James even stopped reading his magazine at this. "I mean, look at the facts. It's a transfer student that has connections with McGonagall. Who else could it be?"

"Yeah, but she didn't look tired," Remus argued. "The full moon was only about a week ago."

"So? She's a metamorphagus. She'd probably be able to hide it," James said, warming up to the subject.

"But would she be able to act unaffected?" Remus asked.

"I don't know. Maybe," Sirius said, staring at the ceiling.

"Anyway," Remus said, with an air of finality. "Today I know she was wearing silver, even if it wasn't in her rings."

"Maybe it was Evans," James said. "They were standing pretty close, maybe you just couldn't tell which one it was actually coming from."

"I don't think so," Remus said, but he did know it was possible.

"We're going with you tomorrow," Sirius said, finally ending the staring contest he had going with the ceiling.

"I don't think you should," Remus said.

"Of course we will," James said. "We can't let you meet whoever it is by yourself." His tone left no room for argument.

Back at McGonagall's...

The three girls had been talking for quite a long time. Finally, Christ asked Lily something that had been bugging her all day.

"Why don't you like James and Sirius? James obviously is in love with you, and Sirius really doesn't seem all that bad."

"They are so immature. All they ever do is pull pranks and torture Slytherins. And, Potter will not leave me alone. All he ever does is ask me out," Lily said, with quite a bit of emotion.

"Wish I had that problem. A cute guy who actually likes me asking me out all the time," Christ muttered.

"He does not actually like me," Lily said, angrily.

"Yes, he does, you could see it in his eyes when you chose him over that Slytherin."

"Fine, then Black likes you," Lily shot back.

"Absolutely fine with me. He is so hot," Christ said, saying the last bit for Megan's benefit.

"Yeah, and so is Iceland," Lily muttered.

"Anyway, the prank part sounds a bit like us," Christ said, smirking at Megan, who smirked right back. "And as for the Slytherin part, maybe I can explain my views on why they do that. It might not be the right theory. They might do it for pure fun. Somehow, I doubt that. There must be easier targets somewhere. Anyway, do you want to hear my theory?"

"Sure," Lily said, shrugging. "I'm gonna hear it anyway, might as well hear it now. What is this all-powerful theory?"

"Well, first off, what do you know about their families?" Christ asked.

"I know that they're both purebloods, and that Sirius comes from a family a lot like your dad's, although James' is more like your mum's," Lily answered, wondering just what that had to do with it.

"Well, they both seem to hate all the pureblood hype. That right there is enough to make them dislike the ones who support it. However, for Sirius it's harder, because his family likes it. So, he automatically associates everyone that his family likes as evil. Especially since they do the same thing to him. James is, of course, going to stick up for his best friend. Wouldn't you? That's not really a very good explanation, because I can't really put it into words, but that's the gist of it," Christ tried to explain.

"Yes, but the Slytherins never do anything to them," Lily said.

"You don't know that for sure," Christ said. "I bet they do when they know they'll win. That's a very Slytherin trait, after all. My memories of the first Malfoy Christmas party that I went to consist of Lucy and some other greasy, black haired kid tormenting another kid, who must have been Sirius. I really don't know, because Mom forbid me to go over. Just because you don't see them do anything doesn't mean that they don't deserve it. Lets go to sleep. We've got to be up by 9 so you can meet your parents."

"Good night," Lily said, a thoughtful expression on her face.

"Night," Megan and Christ chorused.

Author notes: Ah, another reason this took so long. A lovely thing
called finals. Oh well, I'm out of school now (we're always the first
out around here) so hopefully I can update faster. I did get some
stuff written, but after writing two hours about everything you can
come up with for American History from World War 1 on, with a special
break for a page and a 1/2 about World War 2, writing isn't the first
thing that pops in your mind as something to do! Of course, by that
point, we had to have our library books turned in, so it was close.
