Last Breath

'Oh my god, Harry,' Hermione whispered as she saw her fiancé on the hospital bed. He looked horrible, and she could tell that he was dying.

'Herm?' Harry said very quietly as he looked up into her tearful brown eyes. He smiled and took her hand.

'I love you so much, Harry. Please don't leave me, I need you,' She cried as he placed his hand on hers.

Hold on to me love

You know I can't stay long

All I wanted to say was I love you and I'm not afraid

Can you hear me?

Can you feel me in your arms?

'Before I leave, I wanted to let you know how much I love you. You're beautiful and priceless. Please don't blame yourself for this. I love you and will always care about you.'

'Oh, Harry. I don't know how I'll live without you. I promise you that I will try. I love you so much. Please stay longer,' Hermione sobbed as she kissed his forehead. He smiled weakly and inhaled a sharp gasp of air.

Hermione's head was spinning as she remembered all of her times with Harry. She remembered how they had always loved winters together. They would snuggle up next to the fire and just stare into each other's eyes for hours on end.

Holding my last breath

Sweet rapture light

It ends here tonight

Hermione's tears fell onto Harry's own damp eyes. He wondered how she became so beautiful. He knew he was coming to an end; everything seemed to fade slightly as he kept his eyes open. He felt her squeeze hsi hand, as if she could nurse him back to full health.

'Please Hermione, take this and you will always remember me,' Harry whispered as he put his hand into his pocket and out a beautiful white-crystal on a golden chain. He unhooked it and put it around Hermione's neck. She touched it and gasped as she saw the inside of it. There was a picture of a beautiful white forest that showed them snuggled up together. On the back were the initials of each of them, H.P. & H.G.

'Oh, Harry, it's beautiful. Thank you so much, I love you,' Hermione cried as she hugged Harry. He smiled softly and looked into her eyes again. He pulled her head down and kissed her lightly on the lips.

I'll miss the winter

A world of fragile things

Look for me in the winter forest

Hiding in a hollow tree (come find me)

I know you hear me

I can taste it in your tears

'Hermione, I just wanted to let you know that I love you,' Harry said.

'I love you, Harry Potter,' Hermione smiled, as she knew the easy part of the beginning of a hard relationship was over.

'I will never leave you,' Harry said as the two embraced each other until the sun came up.

'Tonight you die, Potter,' Voldemort said as he lifted his wand up, ready to duel.

'You've got it wrong, Voldemort. I think you'll be the one who dies,' Harry replied coldly lifted his wand as well.

Voldemort yelled a curse, but Harry easily blocked it. Then, Voldemort lunged at Harry with a knife and stabbed him in the stomach. He then fled, but Harry had enough energy to mutter the killing curse. He killed Voldemort in an instant and then everything became black.

'Oh, Harry, you told me you would never leave me. Why do you have to go?' Hermione whispered. She knew Harry was nearing the end.

'I don't know, things happen for a reason. Maybe this is happening for a reason. I know you will do fine. I love you so much, Hermione. I have faith in you. You were always the smart one,' Harry answered weakly. He smiled softly and felt all the tears coming from his eyes. Hermione was getting dimmer and dimmer in his eyes.

'I'm going to leave soon, Herm. You know I love you, you know how much I care about you. Keep moving on. Have faith in yourself,' Harry whispered. She got even dimmer in his eyes.

Closing your eyes to disappear

You pray your dreams will leave you here

But still you wake and know the truth

No one's there

'Good-bye, Hermione. I love you; don't ever forget that. I will always be with you. Everywhere you go, don't forget. I love you,' Harry smiled as he kissed her lips for the last time. Then all the light in front of him including Hermione went black and he was gone.

'I love you, Harry,' Hermione said as she felt Harry's heart stop. She sobbed the whole night.
