My more traditional attempt at the Severitus challenge. On his 16th birthday, Harry receives an owl from the past - from Remus Lupin, sent 15 years ago. He discovers something startling about himself that will change many people's lives. Remus and Severus, also, have some hard time trying to re-adjust their relationship to fit in a child. SLASH RLSS

Remus and Severus are informed of the delivery of the letter, and thus, Severus finds out.

Remus is determined to get Michael away from the Dursleys. Dumbledore doesn't want that.

Michael sees at last the final changes in his appearance, and shocks his so-called aunt.

Michael gets away from the Dursleys, although not without a lot of yelling, disgust, and ambivalent feelings.

Remus and Severus come to fetch their son from the Privet Drive. However, the Dursleys aren't easy people to deal with. And in the end, Petunia gets sentimental...

Pomona Sprout makes an interesting comment, and Severus wonders what's wrong with his nose. The staff of Hogwarts is really surprised, Remus and Michael both makes jokes about the Snape nose, and Severus still can't understand what's disturbing everyone in the particular piece of his face.

Severus, Remus, and Michael head towards their now shared quarters. Severus's taste of decoration amuses his husband and son, and Michael says something very inappropriate.

Michael isn't sure that Sirius would love him if he saw him now. He's not even sure that Sirius loved him as Harry -- maybe everyone was right, and Sirius only loved the picture of James in him? However, both Remus and Severus work each in their own way to put their son's worries to rest.

Michael finally collects his courage and opens his -- Harry's, actually -- birthday presents. Then, he writes a letter to Ron and Hermione.

Michael pulls a prank on Ron and Hermione, but then finds himself laughed at. Later, the Snapes meet Monica Manson as a united front, and Michael doesn't have to doubt his Father's words about her dangerousness.

After sorting out their distress about Manson, Severus and Remus are interested in hearing what their son has decided to do with his future. They also have their own opinions about which House Michael should be in.
