Devia Lupus

diabola13

Story Summary:
Scorpius Malfoy was always a loner. Why? That can be summed up in four words: Lucius Malfoy = Bastard. "Lucius Malfoy is the source of my problems. He's the reason that my father is dead, that I am not human, that I am scorned and shunned from almost everyone around me. And so? I, Scorpius Malfoy, a werewolf with vampire blood, am an outsider for life." And so, we follow Scorpius through his sixth year of annoying first years, annoying flowers, and annoying blue-haired squirts-as he puts it. And of course, there's always the annoying person trying to take over the world and recruit him for a follower....

  1. Street Rat

Whoever said that the world isn't fair was extremely correct. It's an obvious fact, but most people tend to ignore it, and go on with their happy lives. But not I.

Lucius Malfoy was pure evil. If one said "Malfoy", people would sneer and proclaim that the bastard got what he deserved- a Dementor's kiss. I agree.

However, being related to a Malfoy dos not bode well for anyone. Like I said, the world isn't fair.

My father, Lucius' son, was raised to eventually join Voldemort's league of Death Eaters. Thank the Devil that he didn't.

My father was raised to believe that anyone without pure blood was a blemish on the earth. He hated those beliefs, but unless he wanted punishment from Lucius, he would say such things.

Not many knew Lucius' ways of punishment. He forced my father to do everything perfectly, and if he didn't, he was whipped.

I have seen the scars. White lines criss-crossed over my father's back, and I can imagine them angry and red.

Lucius Malfoy is the source of my problems. He's the reason that my father is dead, that I am not human, that I am scorned and shunned from almost everyone around me.

And so? I, Scorpius Malfoy, a werewolf with vampire blood, am an outsider for life.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I closed the parchment journal and regarded the black leather cover thoughtfully. The letters DM, stitched in silver on the cover reminded me of my father. How I missed him.

While everyone else was outside on the platform saying their goodbyes, I climbed onto the train and found a compartment near the very back, and sat down to dread the coming year. I was to be a sixth year, and while everyone would be preparing for exams, I would be reading Terry Goodkind, unconcerned.

I sighed, and put the leather journal away, shutting my father inside my trunk, which I easily lifted onto the trunk rack. Nobody else was in the compartment, nor did I expect to see anyone.

"Who would want to be a friend with a werewolf...or a Malfoy for that matter?" I muttered sullenly as I ran my long fingers through my shaggy black hair. I stretched my long legs out across the seat, and opened Chainfire.

I was so engrossed in the book that I barely noticed when the compartment door slid open.

"Hey, it's Moony!" I heard James Potter's sneering voice say. I looked up to see Albus, James, Teddy, Lily, and Rose. I regarded them coolly, and I noticed that Teddy shot a resentful look at James.

"Mind if we inhabit your lair?"

"Yes," I growled.

"Great!" James said cheerfully, and plopped himself down on the seat across from me. Albus followed, then the giggling girls, and with reluctance, Teddy.

I glanced at each of them incredulously as they started talking about the coming year. I shook my head in disbelief and abandoned my book, sidling out of the compartment.

"Leaving so soon, Moony? Aw, we were just about to have a shedding contest!" were the last words that I heard.

I walked to the back of the train, and slipped through a door to be met with gusting winds. I sat down on a small ledge, and rummaged through my pockets, pulling out a pack of cigarettes. With on simple spell, I lit one and took a long drag.

Exhaling slowly, I studied the landscape. Rolling hills covered in wild grass were disrupted by the train tracks, and many wild flowers lost their petals as the train sped by.

I sat like that for at least ten minutes, before I was disrupted by the door opening. Teddy Tonks strolled out and walked straight past me to lean on the rail. He didn't realize that I was there until he finally turned around to head back inside.

"S-Sorry!" he stammered, then his brow furrowed as I took another drag. "Isn't that illegal?" he asked tentatively.

"Nope," I said, exhaling. "It's only illegal if I buy them."

"So who buys them for you then?" Teddy asked.

I smirked at him, but remained silent.

"You stole them?" Teddy cried. "Merlin, what else have you stolen? Those clothes perhaps?"

My smirk vanished.

"A street rat does what a street rat has to do," I said coldly, tossing the cigarette on the concrete floor and grinding it with my heel.

I turned to go back inside.

"Wait," Teddy called. I turned around and raised an eyebrow at the navy-haired boy. He hesitated.

"Can...Can I try one?" I blinked. That wasn't what I had expected.

After a moment of regarding him with silver eyes, I smirked again and pulled out the pack. Teddy watched as I lit one, took a drag, and handed it to him.

His ears turned red as he inhaled, then went into a coughing fit. I sighed. Newbies. Even I didn't do that when I had had my first.

"That tastes disgusting!" he said after recovering. He shoved it back into my hand, and I shrugged.

"Personal taste, I guess," I said, and took another drag. He stared at me.

"Right..." Teddy said, then sighed heavily. "Look Malfoy, I want to apologize for James' behavior."

I studied his face. "You don't like him calling me Moony," I stated.

Teddy nodded. "It was my father's nickname-he was a werewolf. I wish I knew him..."

I sighed. "Better not to."

"What?"

"Look," I said. "Be glad that you didn't know your parents. It's that much harder when they die."

"How can you say that?" Teddy screeched. "I suppose it's because you're a heartless bastard, but still-"

My eyes flashed and I cut him off. "My father died the day I turned five. He was twenty-two," I stated coldly. "Remembering everything, from what he looked like to the sound of his laugh is like I'm being continuously stabbed through the heart.

"I remember everything. The scars on his back, the way his eyes filled with anguish if Lucius Malfoy was mentioned."

I glared at Teddy, who stared at me in shock.

"What of your mother?" he asked softly.

"She died an hour after I was born. I have no memory of her and it's better that way," I said, staring out over plains.

Teddy was silent. I took a large breath, and spun on my heel, leaving the cigarette squashed on the floor, and made my way back to the compartment.

"Hey, where you been, Moony? Off having a shedding fest?" James asked me with a snicker.

I swung around, and in an instant had James pushed up against the wall, my wand at his throat. Lily and Rose shrieked, and Albus cursed as he searched his pockets for his wand.

"Don't-mess-with-me," I snarled, and for good measure, let my eyes darken so that they reflected the almost full moon.

James swallowed fearfully, and nodded. I swung away, levitated my trunk, and stalked out the door.

On my way back outside, I passed Teddy, who opened his mouth to say something. I ignored him.

Outside, I ignored my robes as was customary, and sat down to read for the last fifteen minutes of the ride.
