It's simple, really. I love J.K. Rowling, and I would never attempt to take any credit for her beautiful characters or stories. I'm just borrowing them, so please don't take offense.

Interlude: The Truth Doesn't Make a Noise

"God, Draco, you're so beautiful." Brushes white-blonde hair away from a pale, pointed face.

"Shut up, Harry. You're turning into a bloody sap." Smiles.

Grey eyes are laughing as they meet bright green.

"You like me this way, you know."

"Where did you get the ridiculous notion that I like you?" Sneers. The curve of pink lips fights not to turn into a smile.

"Well, when you try to yell at me for doing something wrong, you end up apologizing instead."

"Not always. You do so many stupid things that I just give up. You have to pick your battles, you know."

"Shush, you're interrupting. When you know I'm about to kiss you and I have my thumb on your wrist, I can feel your pulse speed up."

"I have heart problems. It's not because of you." Smirking.

"When I kiss you, you keep your eyes open and I can see your soul." Loudly. "When I hold your hand, your palms start sweating. You like me. You want to be with me all the time. You love me, Draco."

"I love you Harry." Laughing.

"I told you." Smugly.

"Wipe that stupid grin off your face, you great prat. I already told you I did."

"I know, you git. But I like making you say it."

"Pouff."

"Well aren't you just the pot calling the kettle black?"

"Malfoys do not concern themselves with such plebeian things as pots." Sniffs.

"Nevermind, Blondie."

" Potter, if you value your life, you will never call me that again." Threatening.

"Come here, Draco." Stifling an amused grin.

"I'm not your slave." Shuffling over to be with someone he loves.

"Ah, no, but I wish it were so." Lecherously. "Comfortable now?"

"Yes." Huffing.

"You have no idea how much I love you." Softly.

"You keep saying that, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm scared." Quiet and serious now.

"Why are you scared?" Whispering.

"People can fall out of love, Harry, but I'm not sure I can."

"And this is a problem why, exactly?" Hugging even more closely.

"You'll be able to pick up and leave when this is over. I won't."

"Who says this is ending?" Demanding.

"I'm not saying it's ending now. I'm saying it will."

"Why does it have to end?" Hurt. Confusion.

"All good things do." Sighs.

"Maybe we won't." A pause.

"Harry, I don't think it's legal to be as happy as I've been with you. It's impossible for something like this to be forever."

"We will be forever, though." Confidently.

"Have you ever been with someone where it didn't end?"

"Well, no." Hesitantly. "I wouldn't be here, otherwise."

"See, you haven't. So how can you possibly know that we're different? That it'll be different for us."

"I can feel it." Decisively.

"You're the first person I ever wanted to give my heart to. You're the only person I'll ever want to give my heart to." Scared.

"Do you trust me?" Smiling.

"I have to, don't I?"

"Not if you don't want to." Gently.

It's his choice.

"Well, I do."

"Then believe that I'll always love you, too."

"Sometimes being in love isn't enough."
