"Lumos."

A small beam came out of Luna's wand. She didn't quite remember what happened, but some kind of instinct told her to be quiet.

She realized she was in a closet.

A door opened in the room outside.

And then she remembered. Giles had hit her. She was in a closet in his office.

There was someone in the room.

"Nox," Luna whispered. However, before the light was extinguished Luna noticed something taped to the board dividing the shelf she was in to the one above her. It was a blue cross, with silver snakes on it. There was something written on it in Latin.

A cold voice filled the office. Luna shuddered. "Your followers told me you will be expecting for me. I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long."

Although Luna had never heard his voice before, she knew it was Lord Voldemort speaking. Only his voice could fill her with such fright.

Luna didn't hear a response from the person Voldemort was talking to, but it seemed as if he was listening carefully.

Luna held her breath.

"I see you are one step ahead of me. Wonderful. I trust you already know what I want you to do."

Once again, Luna heard no response. But after a few minutes she could tell Voldemort was smiling. She shuddered again.

"Really? I had no idea. That solves so many problems. We will talk later."

Luna strained her ears and held her breath. There was complete silence. Then, after almost a minute, Luna heard the office door open and then close. Luna sighed in relief.

"I always hated hide and seek," Voldemort said as he opened the cupboard door.

Luna screamed.

Voldemort raised his hand and Luna lost her voice.

"Hush hush," he said.

No one actually lived in the Broderick Mansion since 1993. Of course there were squatters and there was a bunch of doped up teenagers who made it their Friday night hang out. The younger kids were too afraid to enter. The brave ones would knock on the door, if they were dared to.

Draco wasn't afraid to enter the mansion. But he stood before it, hesitating, just like one of the kids trying to muster the courage to approach the door. He was holding a small bag of Floo powder in his hand. His mother taught him to take some Floo with him wherever he goes.

He might need it.

Draco's head hurt. He really wished he had a pensieve. He knew that no matter what he chooses, it will affect the rest of his life. It might even affect the length of the rest of his life.

Draco shook his head. He decided it was time the Malfoy name got some respect, instead of just fear...

Draco ran down the street, spilling a little Floo powder as he passed the mansion.

"Listen, Ollie, you can either do this willingly, or I can torture you, kill you, turn you into a vampire and then you'll do it willingly," Angelus said, in a sympathetic tone, wearing his human face.

A few of Ollivander's fingers were broken and there was blood on his face.

"I gotta level with you, Ollie. I'm kind of hoping you'll choose the second option..." Angelus whispered.

"You don't have the time," Ollivander said in an angry, bitter voice, filled with hate.

Angelus punched Ollivander in the face. "I don't know what the plan is. As far as I'm concerned, we have all the time until you die of old age," Angelus said, pissed.

Angelus picked up a few of the wand boxes on the floor and threw them in Ollivander's face. Then he grabbed Ollivander's collar. "Why these boxes? What's so special about these wands?" Angelus hissed.

Ollivander laughed. "You really don't know what you've gotten yourself into, vampire. You're just a pawn."

Angelus turned back to his vampire face. He flashed his fangs and moved in threateningly on Ollivander's neck. The old wizard laughed even harder. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. Tom might hit you on the nose with a rolled newspaper, little puppy."

Now Angelus was getting angry. It took him two swift movements, and Ollivander's right arm was broken in five different places. Between tears, laughter and cries of pain, Ollivander managed to speak. "Okay, puppy. I'll tell you."

Ollivander smiled as he got Angelus' attention.

"All these wands," Ollivander motioned towards the boxes around him, "are made out of Willow tree."

"The library is this way," Willow motioned to Hermione and turned right into a corridor. "The door should be right.... Here."

Willow stopped, surprised, in front of the place where the door should be. Hermione stood next to her. "The entrance disappeared?" she asked.

"Yeah," Willow answered.

Hermione moved her hand on the well. "They probably used the Fidelius charm. That's smart," Hermione said.

"I wouldn't go in there if I were you," Spike drawled as he walked into the corridor.

Hermione took out her wand. "Don't get any nearer," she threatened.

"Temper, temper. I want to help you," Spike said.

"Oh, yeah, of course," Willow responded sarcastically, "and after that you will stop feeding on humans and head back to your date with Buffy."

"Hey! No need to get personal!" Spike said, sounding offended. "Look, as a rule I don't like it when pretentious gits get too much power. Well, unless they're me. This is my town. And I intend to keep it that way."

"What do you offer?" Hermione asked.

"I offer, to help you two get out of here, before all the baddies inside the library come out and kill you."

"He's bluffing. The library has always been our base," Willow said. "They wouldn't leave it."

"Oh yeah? Tell me luv, how many people were in the library when you left it?"

Hermione and Willow thought about what he was saying.

"I'm on your side! And let's face it - you need all the help you can get!"

"What do you mean?" Hermione asked.

"You two haven't been around here lately have you?" Spike said. He had the smile of a poker player holding a royal flush. "You have no idea what happened," he said in a dramatic tone.

"Come on, let's get out of here," he said and led the girls away.

Harry laid Lucius' wand on a sink, turned on the water and began to wash his face.

Harry felt as if his brain was too small for all his thoughts. Somehow, everything was connected. If he thought about Ron, well, his brother Percy works for Fudge, who is probably the person who helped Voldemort the most in his rise to power.

Even Dumbledore. Once the mere thought of him filled Harry with hope and confidence. Now he only reminds him of that stupid prophecy.

And Cho. Who was Cedric's boyfriend. Sometimes that was all he could think about when he looked at her. About that night at the graveyard.

Usually, if looking at your girlfriend makes you think about graveyards, it isn't a good sign.

"Yeah, but you have to admit she's quite a good kisser."

Harry turned around surprised, while picking up his borrowed wand at the process.

Cedric Diggory was standing in the middle of the bathroom. He was wearing his old Quidditch uniform.

"But then again," he began to muse, "you don't have anything to compare to, do you? Well I'm telling ya, as someone whose been around the block - Cho's the best bloody kisser I ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Except for maybe Fleur."

Harry just stood there, his eyes wide and frozen, his mouth open. He didn't even move his hands.

"But you're dead," Harry said in disbelief.

Cedric smiled. "But I'm still handsome."

"Are you a ghost?" Harry asked, fearful.

"You know Harry, I'm beginning to get offended. First you kill me, then, after my death, you collect on my girlfriend - by the way, no offence, but you were the ultimate rebound - and now you're calling me a simple, common, ghost?"

Harry moved back half a step, almost as if he was hit in the stomach.

Cedric shook his head and began to walk across the room. For a second, he was completely in the shadows. However, when the moonlight coming in from the window caught his face again, Cedric wasn't there.

Sirius Black was standing in his place.

Harry dropped the wand he was holding.

"Hello, Harry," Sirius said. His voice was somber, yet he managed to flash Harry a warm smile.

"Sirius!!" Harry called and began to run towards his godfather.

"Stop right there Harry!" Sirius said decisively.

Harry stopped, tears flowing down his eyes.

"I can't stay here for long Harry, so you have to listen to me," Sirius said.

Harry nodded, hanging on every word Sirius was saying.

"There is something I need you to do, Harry. It has to do with the war that's going on."

"Yeah, sure," Harry said, "what do you want me to do?"

"Give up," Sirius said.

"What?"

"Let it go. We don't want you on our side. Not anymore," Sirius said in an extremely sad tone.

Harry felt as if his insides were being squeezed.

"I'm sorry, Harry. But, you must have expected this. C'mon! Not only have you disposed of Cedric and me, but - just think. The Order spends half it's resources worrying about what hairball scheme Harry Potter has gotten himself into this time. We can't rush to save you every time you decide to play hero. What's your next target? Azkaban? Maybe you want to take over the Malfoy Manor? Go vanquish the giants?"

"I didn't mean to," Harry whispered between sobs.

"Oh, Harry," Sirius said in a comforting voice. "Of course you didn't mean to. But... You understand, you're a liability. Besides, I'm finding it hard to believe, that you're the one who can stop Lord Voldemort. You're just a kid. I don't care what some old hag said decades ago. It just doesn't make sense."

"So, so..." Harry calmed himself down. "What do you want me to do?"

"Well, Harry, I consider you an intelligent young man. What do you think I want you to do?"

"It sounds as if you want me to run away."

Sirius smiled. "Very astute."

"But my friends -"

"Your friends," Sirius chimed in, "will stand a much better chance without playing therapist to your mood swings or sidekicks to your suicide missions. You know that as well as I do."

Harry backed into the wall.

"I don't know... Maybe if you were stronger, if you studied more. Maybe if you spent some time with James, some of him would have rubbed off.

Fact is, you just don't have it in you kid."

Harry began to slide down with his back against the wall.

Sirius turned his back on Harry and walked away.

"I really thought you'd grow to be more of a Gryffindor by now," Sirius said in a disappointed voice.

Then, he disappeared.

Harry sat on the floor, staring into space, without even blinking. After a few more minutes of not moving, Harry stood up and sprinted out of the bathroom.

**************

"Harry?" Buffy called out into the empty hall.

No answer came. She continued to search the halls. Suddenly the bathroom door opened violently and Harry ran out of it and away from Buffy.

"Harry! Wait!" Buffy said and sprinted after him.

**************

Cordelia decided that, at long last, it was safe to leave the bathroom. At first she thought it was okay to show herself to the foreign guy. But when he started crying and talking to himself... Cordelia decided it was best to stay put. But now, judging by the sound of the door being shoved open, he was out of the bathroom. A voice came from outside

"Harry! Wait!"

Was that Buffy's voice?

Cordelia decided it was worth the risk. She got off the closed toilet and ran out the bathroom.

"Buffy!"

**************

Buffy turned around. "Cordelia! Are you okay?" Buffy said. She was happy to see Cordelia but she still felt she should run after Harry.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But he isn't," Cordelia motioned in the direction Harry was running. "I was with him in the bathroom."

Buffy raised a brow.

"Please!! Not that I'd mind, if he wasn't such a thundering Looney!"

"What do you mean?" Buffy asked.

"Well, he entered the empty bathroom, and started talking and shouting to people who weren't there. He started crying," Cordelia explained.

Buffy took another look in the direction Harry went. She made up her mind. "Look Cordelia, I need to go after Harry. The others are right down the hall," Buffy said, and was about to leave when Cordelia answered her, sounding royally annoyed.

"Oh, no. I have been hiding in the boy's bathroom for hours, there were Nargles in my room, evil warlocks in my school. It's almost midnight, Buffy. I'm going home," Cordelia said and began to walk to the school exit.

Buffy held her hand. "What's the time? Exactly?"

Cordelia looked at the watch her father bought her from Tiffany. "Eleven fifty four."

"Ok, listen Cordelia. You get out of the school as quickly as you can. Try to find Giles - the real one - and get him here. If you see Harry, don't approach him. He's a little dangerous. I need to get to the library," Buffy said and started to build a run towards the library.

"What's happening in the library?" Cordelia asked.

"What always happens at the library," Buffy called back as she ran, "the apocalypse."

"So one of these wands, is meant for Willow? Interesting..." Angelus said as he examined one of the boxes. "But why make such a big deal about? She would be just another wizard."

"There was a prophecy. It was almost forgotten. Believe me, she will not be 'just another wizard'," Ollivander answered.

The office door opened and Luna's bound body came floating down the stairs, followed by a very pleased Voldemort. "Now all we have to do is wait. Angelus, did he do the switch?"

"No," Angelus answered, sounding satisfied nevertheless. He got what he wanted.

"Move. I'll show you how it's done," Voldemort said in an irritated I-don't-have-time-for-this-nonsense tone.

"Get away from me vile creature! I will never help you perform your foul deeds. Your kind will never prosper! You will rot in Azkaban for ages!"

Voldemort flicked his want and muttered the Imperius curse.

"What can I do for you master?" Ollivander said, in a tone reminiscent of Peter Pettigrew.

"Angelus, you are needed outside. As soon as the bleeding will start you will have to leave. Don't let them in," Voldemort commanded the vampire, who nodded. Then he turned back to Ollivander.

"Insert this Phoenix feather into this wand and remove the feather currently inside," Voldemort said courteously.

"Of course master."

Ollivander finished the task in less than a minute.

**************

"Are you sure?" Hermione asked, her voice trembling, tears streaming down her eyes.

"Yeah. The tall scary guy, from your world. Did it himself. Were you close to the redhead boy?" Spike said in a soft voice.

Hermione nodded silently. Willow eyed Spike, debating whether or not to buy his act. "Hey Spike. What was he wearing?"

"Well, of course in the middle of the battle I stopped to check what the casualties are wearing. I know I always try to make my knickers bring out my eyes," Spike answered, annoyed.

Hermione understood what Willow was thinking. She tried to devise some way to test Spike herself, when she heard her name shouted.

"Hermione!"

It was Ron. Along with Dean, Cho and Xander.

"Ron! You're alive!" Hermione called and ran towards him. He embraced her.

Spike coughed to get the group's attention. He was wearing his vampire face and was holding Willow around the neck. "Now, we have orders not to kill the wizards, just to hold you here, so if you won't fight us, we won't have to kill you."

"We?" Xander asked.

Drusilla entered the hallway from behind the group.

Hermione turned to Spike. "William, listen to me. You are facing, three N. E. W. T. level wizards. Now, you may have killed two slayers. But neither one of them could turn you inside out with just a flick of a wand. So if I were you -"

"Hold on," Spike cut her and took a wand out of his pocket. "You mean this wand? I found it in your pocket."

Hermione froze, feeling stupid.

Ron moved Hermione aside. "Expelliarmus!"

Spike was shot through the air. As he flew he threw Willow. She hit the corner of a wall with her head and fell to the ground unconscious. But he still held on to the wand.

Meanwhile Drusilla charged from the back.

"Expelliarmus!" Cho shouted, but she missed.

Xander walked towards Dru, holding a stake. He tried to hit her once but missed. She caught him by the neck and pinned him to the wall. She looked in his eyes. "Be in me," she whispered.

"Of all the females I dreamed saying those words..." Xander muttered in disgust, fear and disappointment.

"Be in my eyes... Be in me," Drusilla continued, ignoring Xander's little remark, as she looked in his eyes. Xander's eyes turned blank. He looked devoid of emotion. Dru looked at the group. Dean was approaching them carefully. The rest were concentrating on Spike, who already managed to get up and attack them. Xander looked at the group along with Dru.

"Go get the little boys. Go play," she whispered.

Xander obliged. She moved and he walked towards Dean.

"Are you okay?" Dean asked.

After Xander punched him in the face, Dean gathered that maybe he wasn't ok.

Draco was running through the high school halls trying to find someone, anyone. Then he saw the corpse on the floor.

"Father!" Draco rushed to the limp figure on the floor. Draco put his hand on his father's chest. He was breathing.

"Ennervate!" Draco said and Lucius woke up. After a few seconds of disorientation, he regained his focus.

"What is the time, Draco?" He asked.

"Eleven fifty six. Why?" Draco answered.

Lucius stood up quickly. "Hurry up Draco. We have to get to the library."

For the first time in his life, Draco saw his father run. He ran after him.

**************

Harry stopped running. He was at back exit of the school. Harry could make out the stadium in the storm outside as he looked out the window. He couldn't run anymore. He was out of breath and his side was aching. Harry leaned on the wall for support.

"You know, I'm jealous of you, mighty death eater Potter," Bellatrix Lestrange said as she stood in front of Harry, glowing with the yellow light coming from the hallway.

Instinctively, Harry went for Lucius' wand in his front pocket. But it wasn't there. Harry remembered that he left it on the bathroom floor. Instead he took out Ginny's wand from his back pocket.

Bellatrix continued. "You can still feel it don't you? Even now. That exhilaration, that excitement, the ego trip... Come on. No pretense Harry. Not with me. You liked it. Even now you're wondering: Could you do it again? Could you do it better? Quicker? Would it be more enjoyable next time? Could you kill your friends? Are you strong enough? Or would they kill you first?"

"Get away from me," Harry threatened.

"Or what you gonna do? Murrrrrrdur me?" Bellatrix purred.

Harry looked frightened at the very thought.

"I overheard your friends talking. They know what you did. They called you 'dangerous'," Bellatrix said with visible pleasure.

Harry looked at Bellatrix, disbelieving, hurt.

"Yes, Harry, it's come to that. They know what you're becoming, they know you've deserted them and they know you've switched sides."

"No, never," Harry whispered.

"Harry, they're afraid of you. If they saw you they would probably stun immediately," Bellatrix gave Harry a pitying, sympathetic look. "No one gives a death eater a second chance."

Harry had enough. He shoved the exit door open and ran out to the storm raging outside.

**************

Ginny was losing hope. It was almost midnight and there hasn't been any sign from her friends. Ginny hoped with all her might that they were okay. Because if they were still alive, than Ginny still stood a chance. A small one, but a chance. Somehow Ginny knew that whatever Voldemort was planning, it was about to start. And Ginny was a part of it.

"Don't underestimate yourself, pumpkin. You're a pivotal part of his plan," Arthur Weasley told Ginny in a comforting voice. He was standing right next to her, but no one else seemed to notice.

"Dad!!" Ginny called. She truly felt confined when she realized she couldn't spread her arms and hug him. "Did you come to get me?"

"I'm afraid not, Ginny. No one is coming to get you," Mr. Weasley told his only daughter sadly.

"What? Then why are you here?" Ginny asked, confused. The tears were threatening to start again.

"Why, I came to say goodbye," Arthur said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Ginny stood there, open mouthed. Then something clicked in her brain.

"You're not my father," Ginny said, determined.

"Honey, that hurt daddy!" Mr. Weasley said and leaned towards Ginny.

"I was there for you all your childhood! Don't you remember the first time I took you to see the dragons? And you asked me if we could use one to cook our lunch?"

Ginny looked at her father, surprised and hurt. It was him. It couldn't be anybody else. She could smell him. A combination between traces of the aftershave he always uses and a little of the smell she connects with the ministry for some reason. And he was the only one who knew about the little dragon remark. She wouldn't let him tell the rest of the family because she thought Fred and George would laugh at her.

"Goodbye, Ginny. See you soon," her father whispered. She closed her eyes as the tears came. When she opened them, he was gone. Ginny searched the room, wondering where her father had gone. She saw Voldemort take a knife out of a drawer. In his other hand he was holding the artifact.

Angelus appeared before her. "It's time, red."

Angelus released her from the chains and dragged her, kicking and screaming to the center of the room. "Let go of me!!! Help!! Someone! Stop it!!"

Voldemort approached her. "Silencio!" he called.

Ginny lost her voice. Angelus seemed amused. "That's a neat trick, you have to - Ow!" Angelus called in pain. Ginny bit his arm.

Angelus threw her on the floor and punched her in the face. Ginny almost lost conscious. He looked at her another second and left the room.

With the flick of a finger, Voldemort made Ginny float. He approached her. "At this time, as the barriers between the dead and the living are weak. At this time, I wish to create a Limbo, an equal ground, where these two worlds will mesh together," Voldemort recited.

He prepared the cross in his left hand. Then, in one quick movement he slashed Ginny's palm with the knife and she began to bleed. He quickly pinned the ancient cross to the wound. Ginny fell to the floor, her eyes closed and her body limp.

Two people ran into the room. "Is everything alright, master?" Lucius Malfoy asked, worried.

Draco's eyes widened with horror as he saw Ginny lie on the floor.

Voldemort smiled. "Are you sad Draco? Do you want to cry? It's okay to cry, no matter what your father told you. I have to admit, your little crush was a twist I didn't see coming. Either way, you're going to have to make some hard decisions soon. Decide where your loyalties are, choose your path -"

"Umm, master?" Lucius disrupted Voldemort's speech. It did not happen very often. The Dark Lord did not look pleased.

"How many times, have I told you, Lucius, never to interrupt me?" Voldemort said in a voice that made many grown wizards wet their pants.

"It's just that," Lucius began to explain, "nothing is happening."

"What?"

At first Voldemort didn't understand what Lucius meant. Then he turned to Ginny and saw that she was lying on the floor, looking peaceful.

Almost without thinking Voldemort took Draco by the arm and pulled him to where Ginny was lying. He kicked her away from the position. Then he cut Draco's hand and pinned the cross to the wound. Before he could understand what was happening, Draco fell to the floor.

For a second nothing happened.

Then Draco spontaneously combusted. And he awoke. His screams woke Ginny up also. Voldemort smiled.

"Father!" Draco yelled. "Do something!"

Lucius stood there, smiling, a mad glint in his eye. "I'm so proud of you, son!"

Draco's face managed to wear the expression of disappointment, hurt and fear, before he fell to the floor again. He lied there motionless, smoke rising from him in all directions.

Ginny was shocked. She edged away from the body. She heard something move. Ollivander kicked a wand in a box towards her. Quietly, while everyone had their eyes on Draco, Ginny opened the box and held the wand.

Then Draco stood up. Ginny could barely make out his features through all the smoke surrounding him. Then, in an instant all the smoke disappeared. Ginny gasped. She knew the thing that stood before her was Draco, but she couldn't believe it and she definitely wouldn't have guessed it. It was the same height of Draco, had the same outline, but it didn't look anything like him. It barely looked human.

All of Draco's skin turned deep maroon, his face was a bit yellowish, he was bald and his face was covered with bleeding cuts and wounds. He looked at Ginny. His pupils have turned white.

"Give us a kiss," it said.
