There Is a Beast in My Bed

~Prologue~

He was coming from a Quidditch match when it started to rain. Other students had already gone inside, but a few remained, now hurrying before they could get soaked to the skin.

He just liked the feeling of dozens raindrops on his face. When it was raining, he felt like he could finally let his mask drop and be free. While the rain poured over him, he felt himself pure and innocent, once again, like when he was six years old. The coldness that would follow was nothing compared to what he felt inside his heart every time he thought of his father.

Until he was six years old, he had thought that his father would keep him safe. He never thought that his father would be the one to hurt him. He still had scars to prove it.

"I didn't know you liked rain," Harry Potter stated from behind him.

Harry Potter.

His archenemy for five and half years. Their relationship had changed at the end of their sixth year. Last year there had been lot of tension between them. Actually, they had been flirting with each other rather shamelessly.

There had been rumours that he and Harry were lovers. Draco had laughed, of course, but he kept the thoughts of Harry to himself. He didn't want everyone to know how he dreamt about Harry almost every night. These dreams weren't exactly sexual, but he understood their symbolism.

As he stood there, looking at the raven-haired boy everything became clear. He realised his the feelings, which he had hidden somewhere deep down, towards the boy.

"There are many things you don't know about me," Draco replied, taking a few steps closer to Harry.

"I would like to learn if you would let me to," Harry said quietly, and was now standing directly in front of Draco.

Your breath hot upon my cheek

They were so close to each other. The Iintensity in Harry's eyes was almost too much for Draco. He brought his hand up to touch Harry's cheek, then he gently tilted Harry's head slightly and kissed him lightly.

And we crossed

That line

Harry kissed him back and Draco couldn't keep himself from shuddering. He was afraid. The kiss had seemed a good idea a few moments ago, but then the reality sank in. Harry seemed to sense his hesitation and wrapped his arms around him, bringing them closer together than was even possible.

In their rain-soaked clothes, they clung to each other in desperation. They were unable and reluctant to let go. He knew deep down that they would never do this again.

You made me strong when

I was feeling weak

Draco had never felt this way. The kiss felt right, and Draco felt like he was safe in Harry's arms. After what felt like hours, they finally broke apart; Draco suddenly realised what he had done. He started to panic and pushed himself away from Harry.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked, seeing the horrified look on Draco's face. Draco didn't answer, but turned around and ran away without a backward glance.

And we crossed

That one time
