Who Followed Who?

The Wizarding world is still in quite a state – Voldemort is back, and people are torn as to whether or not they believe it. The Order of the Phoenix is still holding meetings to try and prepare for the Dark Lord’s ultimate uprising, but one of their ranks has decided she’s not so sure where her loyalties really lie.

Draco begins following Ginny and gets a bit of a surprise when she turns out to be well-known in Knockturn Alley.

Draco and his father have a chat, and he reveals the bet he's made with Ginny.

Ginny emerged from the fireplace without the slightest trace of soot on her. She watched, amazed, as Draco emerged behind her, also looking pristine. She supposed that it shouldn’t have amazed her as much as it did; the Malfoys probably had their hearths cleaned by house elves at least twice a day. She turned at the sound of footsteps behind her, and was met by the smiling face of a woman who could only be Draco’s mother.

“Why is it that the thought of you loving my son is so upsetting to you? Is he so terrible that you cannot even entertain the idea?”

Harry, Ron, & Hermione begin to wonder about Ginny, based on a comment made by Snape. Draco and Ginny continue getting to know each other.

Ginny and Draco watch the Quidditch match together, and then run into someone on their way home.

Rated due to language. Ron figures out where Ginny is, and decides to try and talk to her there. Pansy and Draco have a heart-to-heart about his feelings for the redhead, and a misunderstanding leads to Ginny calling it an early evening just to get away and think.

“She’s everything you’ve always said you want, Draco,” she said seriously. “Don’t screw it up.”

“I’m glad you’re here, Ginny,” Pansy said, the honesty welling up inside of her. “Draco has been so unhappy for so long. He needed someone to come and be his friend, and he needed that person to be someone who wouldn’t judge him for his past. Not to mention that I’m glad to have you as a friend, too. It’s hard for me to keep friends that are girls.”

“You hate my hair. You’ve told me since the day you met me that you hate the Weasley red.”

“Let me make it up to you,” he said. “I was planning a surprise anyway, but now it seems even more fitting.”
