Chapter 3
Saturday came very slowly. Ginny stayed in her room most of the time and only ventured out to eat. She avoided Luna and Harry and only ran into them once. They were snogging and Ginny didn't really want to see that. They looked happy though. Luna had changed a lot since last year. She was now a little less mysterious about things. She turned out not to be as nerdy as everyone thought.
On Saturday morning, Ginny was the first to get ready. She was excited for some odd reason. She actually wanted to see Draco. Weird. When everyone else was ready to go they went over to the fire and Ginny asked if she could go first. Her mom wasn't sure but still let her.
Once at Diagon Alley Ginny scanned the crowd for Draco. She couldn't see him so when her parents got there she asked them if they could get her books for her while she went to get some ingredients she needed for potions. Not wanting to keep Draco waiting she went straight to the place next to the owlry. He was waiting there, looking bored. "There you are Weasley."
"Let's get some ice cream then I need to go get some things for potions."
"Ok."
They went up and ordered. Draco got a vanilla ice cream with dragon scales and Ginny got a plain chocolate ice cream cone. They then walked over to a bench to finish their ice cream.
"Everyone wanted to see the letter you sent me. I didn't show them. Maybe on the train we can do something that'll knock their socks off."
"Yah, guess that could work," he replied. "But you know what? I don't think this will work. Honestly who's gonna believe it. I sure wouldn't."
"So you don't want to do this anymore?"
"No. Don't think it's gonna work. Bye Weasley."
He wasn't sure why he just did that. This had been the perfect plan to get Potter back. Maybe the fact that he enjoyed spending time with Ginny was the reason he stopped. All he knew is that he needed to think about it more.

'What am I going to do now?' Ginny thought. She couldn't believe the nerve of Draco. Get her excited to get back at Harry and then just back out. "God I hate him."
"And who would that be, Gin?" Hermione whispered in her ear.
Ginny must have jumped at least a few feet in the air. "Don't scare me like that 'Miony."
"Sorry. So who is this guy you hate?"
"Is there any guy I don't hate at the moment?"
"I know what you mean. Me and Ron just got in a fight. He's so ridicules sometimes!"
"That's our Ron. Always doing the stupidest thing. But you gotta love him."
"Yah, too true. I don't feel too bad. Harry and Luna got in a fight too. Something about him not caring about this weird looking creature. She cares about the weirdest things. Don't know why they are going out. Nothing in common."
"Yah, but love works in weird ways. Can't do anything about it, can you?"
"I know, but Harry and Luna? Harry could get anyone and he goes after her. I just don't get it at all. You are better for him then her and he knows it." Hermione was ranting again. She did this from time to time when something bothered her a lot.
"I don't care. Honestly, I'm over it now."
"I know you better then that, Gin."
"Yah, well I'm getting over it. May take a bit of time but I'll do it."
"I'd be dying inside if I were you. Having my best friend taking the love of my life away from me."
"Oh well. C'est la vie. Can't do anything about it anyways."
"We'd better be getting home. I'm going to talk to Ron too."
"Ok, let's go."
