"The Adventure of the Origami Triangles" -- Chapter One; History Lesson

It was another day in the lives of the Hogwarts Trio. The end of the year neared and as the homework load for final exams was ever increasing, so was the temperature and the temptation to close one's eyes for just . . a . . . . moment . . . . . .

"Wake up Ron!" Hermoine whispered, poking Ron in the arm with her quill.

"Gah, what'd you have to do that for? I was dreaming about chocolate frogs!"

"That seems obvious," Harry noted, looking at the drool that had collected on Ron's sleeve.

"Oh, bugger off!"

"You should be taking notes!" Hermoine watched Professor Binns and scribbled away at her parchment.

"Why should I when you're doing the work of ten people?" Ron yawned. Hermoine glared at him.

"Psst!"

They looked across the room to Sean, who had folded up a piece of parchment into a little triangle and was acting as if he wanted to try and flip it across the room. Dean kept motioning with his hands until Harry had his arms stretched out with his thumbs touching and his index fingers extended up.

"What are they doing?" he whispered to Ron. Hermoine ignored them and continued taking notes.

Sean set one point of the triangle on the table and held it perpendicular so the straight edge was facing him. He took careful aim, and then suddenly flicked it with his other hand.

Those that were awake held their breath as it flew threw the air, finally landing in Harry's lap between his makeshift goalpost. There was muted cheering.

Dean caught Harry's attention and held up his own goalposts, and Harry flicked the triangle back to him. It sort of flew off to the side and knocked Neville in the forehead, but he was asleep and didn't notice.

Dean took it and flicked it across, just barely making it past Harry' goalposts.

"Let me try, let me try!" Ron said. He took the triangle and positioned it carefully, took aim, and flicked. It bounced off to the side and hit Hermoine in the cheek. "Sorry ‘bout that . . ." Ron said, suppressing a laugh as he retrieved it.

"Would you knock it off?" Hermoine snapped. "Or have you forgotten we've got exams coming up?"

"Oh, lighten up!" Ron said as he flicked it across. It missed the goalposts and landed on the floor, and Sean bent down to pick it up and flick it to Harry.

Much to Hermoine's chagrin, they flicked it back and forth numerous times, and about two minutes before class was up, Sean went for the jackpot. Dean scribbled on some parchment and held it up so Harry and Ron could read it;

"Stomach = 10 points, head = 50!"

Hermoine was too far annoyed to even pay attention, but Harry, Ron, Dean, and even Neville (who had woken) leaned forward with bated breath as Sean took aim and flicked.
