****On the Hogwarts Express****

On the way back to Hogwarts, the car was very quite. James, Sirius, Remus, Peter, and Lily were all scrambling to finish their homework. Amber, on the other hand, was painting her nails and dark red.

“Didn’t I say you should have done the work on our holiday?”

“Shut up!” they all said to her.

“Yell if you want, but I’m finished and you all are not.”

“I at least thought you would help your best mate.”

“Nope. I told to do your work, but did you listen to me? No you did not.” Before Amber could go on, the door burst open and Severus Snape appeared.

“I did not know vampires came out in the day.”

“Can it, Black!” Severus hissed. “I am not here to argue with you. I am here to talk to Amber.” Everybody raised their eyebrows and turned to Amber.

“Um, ok.” She put her book on the seat and walked towards the door. Sirius grabbed her arm.

“If you need anything, just yell and we’ll come and get you.” Severus rolled his eyes and followed Amber out of the room.

Ah, Snape. He was a wonderful Death Eater. The best potions maker I had. He could have easily killed me, but then again I was immortal, but he knew a way to kill me. Such a shame I had to seek revenge on him. But them again, he did help Harry Potter and Sirius Black. To this day I know he was the second most faithful servant I had. Other than Barty Crouch Jr. who went to Azkaban for me.

Once they were outside, Severus took a deep breath and turned his head.

“I need your help.”

“My help?”

“Yes, in Muggle Studies.”

“How come you can’t get one of the other Slytherin’s help you?” “Slytherin? Do you think anybody in my house cares about Muggles?”

“They why are you taking that class?”

“I live in a Muggle community.”

“Well,” Amber started, looking at her feet, “sure. I have a study group with fourth years on Thursdays, so I guess I can pencil you in on Wednesdays between four and six.”

“Pencil me in?”

“Muggle slang.”

“Oh, ok. But don’t tell anyone. If they were to find out…” he said, nodding his head towards the door.

“No problem, you’re secret is safe with me.” Severus smiled and walked back to his car.

Amber stayed in the hall a few minutes longer thinking about what just happened. A Slytherin just asked a Gryffindor for help! She smiled at the thought of her and Severus together. He was cute enough, his hair was a little greasy and his attitude was quite unbearable, but he was the top student in Potions and she desperately needed help in that class. Just as she was thinking, the door popped opened and James, Sirius, and Remus jumped out with their wands.

“You three really need a life.”

“What did he want?” Sirius asked.

“Nothing,” lied Amber, “he wanted to talk to me.”

So loyal, she should have been a Ravenclaw, maybe then her life wouldn’t have been so hard, but then again, if I would have been a Hufflepuff would I have so fallen from grace?

****Tom’s Holiday****

I suppose you think I didn’t have a little Christmas cheer? Of course I did! We villains do need a little “get-a-way” too. But where to go? Not my family! And the Death Eaters’ I was not interested in. So I went to the only place I had ever called home; Hogwarts.

Living in the Dark Forest isn’t something I like to do. But the snakes provided good company and were able to spy for me. Finally, when they told me the news I wanted to hear, I went into the castle. A childish grin came over me as I walked pasted the trophy room and saw my name on the Perfect and Head Boy statues. Mom would have been so proud.

As I walked down the halls, careful not to make any noises or be seen, I spotted Dumbledore. He was heading towards his room and I followed. Once in his room, the door closed and Dumbledore began to speak.

“I felt you the night of the Halloween Ball. Then I saw you and the Pettigrew boy in the trophy room. I saw the snakes from the dark forest moving around the school and Hagrid told me the spiders and rats have been acting strangely. Here to open the Chamber of Secrets again?”

“Albus,” I started, sitting down in his chair, “can’t I just drop in and have a friendly chat with my favorite Headmaster?”

“Don’t be coy with me. You may be able to fool the Ministry, but the aurors and I know what you’re up to.”

“Tis’ a pity. I wanted everyone to know what I was after.” Dumbledore stood up and looked out of the window. I waited for him to say something. Anything. Finally he sat back down and looked at me.

“Is your hate that strong? Killing people you don’t even know?” His blue eyes melted and water began to fill his eyelids. “What happened to make you come to a school and offer a young boy something like that? Destroying friendships. I expected more from you.”

“Then you should have told Trelawaney to keep her mouth shut earlier.”

There! I had done it. I had said something to Dumbledore that made him think.

“Would it have mattered?” he asked.

“Maybe, but the Gryffindor Heir is bugging me.” I lied. I knew good and well who the Heir was. Ok, maybe I didn’t but I had a good idea who it was. And that’s where Peter came in.

“Is that you’re after? The Heir of Gryffindor? What about the two others?”

“Hufflepuff will follow who ever is in power and Ravenclaw will do the smart thing and follow me.”

“Don’t count on it.” Dumbledore replied, “I can assure you the Hufflepuff Heir will not follow you.”

I looked into Dumbledore’s blue sparkling eyes. He knew something I didn’t and he was going to use it against me. I stood up and looked out the window.

“If you would excuse me, I had less trivial business to attend to.”

“Oh, you mean make Malfoy a Death Eater? Then you better hop to it.”

I was stunned. Nobody, and I mean nobody was suppose to know that! Instead of replying, I nodded and left Hogwarts grounds. Little did I know that I was to return in 22 years on the back of some fool's head.
