I am truly srry. I hope everyone enjoys the story. R/R
Harry Potter was sitting at his window at Number 4, Privet Drive. It had been one week since he was brought home by the Hogwart's Express, and he hadn't been able to sleep at all since then. He was thinking of writing to Sirius and seeing if he could somehow get a sleeping potion, but quickly put it out of his mind. He didn't want to bother his Godfather and make him worry. So, he sat up every night thinking of all the horrible things that had happened that year, how Cedric was killed because of him and how Voldemort had regained his power with a little bit of his blood. He then thought of his parents and everyone else who had died at Voldemort's hands. Harry tried to think of happier things like his friends Ron, Hermione, and Ginny, but that didn't help.
Just as Harry was beginning to doze off, there was a peak at the window. He tiredly got up and opened it trying not to make too much noise. The owl flew in, dropped something onto his bed, and flew back out. Harry went over to the bed and picked up the packaged that was left there. On the front in glittering, green letters was written:
Mr. H. Potter
Smallest Room
4 Privet Drive
Harry opened it wondering what he could be receiving from Hogwarts so soon. A letter fell out from the package, and he reached for this first. It read:
Dear Harry,
I know you are probably wondering what this is all about, but I will try to explain it to you. I am allowing you to go to the burrow for the rest of the summer, but you must stay there and not wonder off to anywhere else. This is very important because your safety depends upon it. Also, I have I included a Portkey that will take you to The Burrow and to Hogwarts. This is in case there is an emergency. To use it, you take it out of the container, hold it, and think of which place you want to go to. Also, I have included a Sleeping Potion because I figured you might need it, but don't use it too often. Use these items wisely, and if you need anything else owl me. Hope you have fun, and Harry please try to enjoy your summer.
Albus Dumbledore
Harry read the letter again, trying to find any hidden clues, but didn't find any. Then he remembered that he was being allowed to go to visit Ron. He opened up the package and found the Portkey. It was a toothpick inside a cylinder case, and the potion that was in small vials. He put them away, except one vial of the sleeping potion and decided to try to sleep. He took off his glasses, set them aside, took a drink of the potion, and put the empty vial aside. He got into bed and fell into a dreamless sleep.
The next morning, Harry woke up to the sound of wings flapping against the windowpane. He reached over for his glasses, got up, and headed to the window. Hedwig was there with a letter tied around her leg. Harry was trying to remember whom he had sent her to last, and then it hit him, Ron. He pulled open the window and Hedwig flew to the bed waiting for him to untie the letter. After he had opened the letter and read that Hermione was staying at The Burrow and that they were expecting him at any time, and that Dumbledore had told them about the Portkey, he went downstairs to have some breakfast. He grabbed a couple of pieces of bacon and a slice of toast and sat down at the table. He ate quickly. He then decided he would tell his uncle, who would be overjoyed, that he was going to be gone the rest of the summer. He approached Uncle Vernon and said, "um... my friend Ron has invited me to stay at his house for the summer". Vernon let out a moan indicating he understood. Then it dawned on him what Harry had said. "WAIT A MINUTE! It will be a cold day in hell before I let those.... those.... weirdoes in my house again." "They won't be coming here, I am taking a different form of transportation," Harry replied. Uncle Vernon looked at him strangely and was going to ask what form of transportation this was, but thought better of it. He then mumbled something that sounded like ok. Harry then headed to his room to pack his things.
After a few minutes, Harry had all his things packed into his trunk and was getting ready to use the Portkey when he thought of something. Wouldn't the Portkey set off some kind of alarm? He didn't know, but figured that Dumbledore would know what was best and he would also ask Mr. Weasley later. He then slipped the toothpick out of the cylinder it was in and thought of the Burrow. CommentCheck this and make sure it is right. As soon as the picture was fixed clearly in his mind, he felt the familiar jerk behind his navel as he was being pulled off of the ground and into a swirling vortex. When he opened his eyes, Harry was standing in the Weasley garden with his trunk and Hedwig. One of the Weasleys must have seen him, for as he began to walk towards the house, he was met by an overexcited Ron, a smiling Hermione, and a blushing Ginny. After he had said his hellos, Mrs. Weasley came to the door and hugged Harry, made a fuss over him, and said, "we are glad you could come, and if I can do anything for you, tell me." She then walked back into the kitchen where she was cleaning up. Harry then looked at Ginny who had been awfully quite and smiled. She blushed slightly more, but not as much as she would have last summer. Then something happened that he didn't expect, he blushed too. He didn't notice the look Ron gave Hermione as he picked up his trunk and headed into the house. They had added onto the house, but instead of going up, they went down. There were a couple of guest rooms plus a recreation room down in the basement, and this is where Harry would be sleeping. While Harry deposited his things, Ron and Hermione started a game of fuzzball which Mr. Weasley had recently discovered. Harry looked around the room where they had left him, and saw several pictures of Ron, Ginny, Percy, Bill, Charlie ,Fred, George, and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. Then, some of people whom he didn't know but suspected to be some other family members because they all had red hair and freckles. There were also pictures of Harry and Hermione. He started to walk out of the room when he bumped into Ginny as she was carrying in a glass of pumpkin juice, which spilled everywhere. Harry blushed and said, "Sorry", and Ginny blushed and said, "That is ok. It was all my fault". They both knelt down to try and clean up the mess, but only ended up hitting their heads together. At the same time, they reached up, held their head, and asked if the other one was okay. They smiled and said that they were ok and looked at each other.
CommentFind out her eye coloHarry became lost in those brown eyes, and he felt himself leaning closer towards her face. Then, before anything could happen, Ron came in and said, "You guys want to go outside and play Quidditch?" Ron didn't see them at first, but then he looked down and saw them, blushed and walked out saying something about finding Hermione. Harry and Ginny noticed how they must look with the juice all over them and started to giggle and fell into the floor together, getting even more wet from the spilled juice. After a few moments, they got up, cleaned the mess, and headed upstairs where they found Ron and Hermione in the kitchen, holding hands. When they saw Harry and Ginny come in, they let each other's hand go and looked away. There was an awkward silence, and then they heard a bang from upstairs. Apparently, one of Fred and George's experiments had gone wrong because the house was beginning to fill with green, purple, and red smoke. They all ran out laughing and coughing. Later, after the smoke had cleared, they could hear Mrs. Weasley yelling at Fred and George that they had better find somewhere else to work instead of the house. The rest of the afternoon went fast as the six of them played Quidditch and talked about nothing in particular.
At the supper, table Mr. Weasley talked about his day at the Ministry and about this old man who had charmed a cane to hit people over the head as they walked by. Harry was happy sitting there with the only people who really felt like family to him, but something was missing. Harry just didn't feel totally right, like some part of him had been left at the graveyard the day of the Third Task. After supper, everyone got up, went into the sitting room, and chatted as Harry played a few games of wizard's chess with Ron and even Hermione played some. Then they got ready and went to bed. Harry laid there thinking as the sleeping potion took hold and drowned him in sleep.
Harry awoke with a jolt. He had been dreaming of the Third Task, and the imagined pain in his scar had become unbearable. He rubbed his forehead and grabbed his glasses. It was still dark outside, so he figured he hadn't been asleep for long. Harry decided to go outside for a while. He grabbed a jacket and headed upstairs. He tiptoed out the door, went outside, and sat down in the grass. He leaned back and looked at the stars. Somehow, this reminded him of Ginny, and thinking about her made his heart long for the warm touch of her skin, the sweet smell of her hair, and that great smile of hers. Then he shook his head. What was he thinking? This was his best-friend's sister he was thinking about. But did that mean that they couldn't like each other?

Ginny had been laying in bed for awhile. She just couldn't sleep; the picture of Harry leaning forward to kiss her was ever present in her mind. They had been close but Ron had to come in and ruin it. But, she guessed that if fate were to have them together, it would find a way. She had gotten over the childish crush, but it had developed into something more, maybe even love. Then, she heard a noise downstairs and decided to go see who or what it was. She grabbed her wand, because in these days you never knew what to expect. But when she got downstairs, the only person she saw was Harry sneaking out. She followed him without even thinking. As she stepped out of the door, she saw a shadow, whom, she guessed, was Harry, sitting down and staring at the sky. She walked over to him, sat down, and smiled. "Hey Harry," she said. He smiled weakly back.

Harry was lost in thought when he sensed a figure approach him. He looked over as Ginny sat down beside him. He thought to himself, "God, she is beautiful". He looked at her face; it had matured since the first time he had seen her at King's Cross Station. Her red hair had grown longer and the freckles on her nose made her look even more interesting. She smiled and he smiled back, wondering why she was out here at this time of night, but not really caring. They sat there in silence for a few moments, but she broke it by asking, "Having nightmares again Harry?" It was more of a statement than a question. The look on her face was that of concern.

Harry told her of his dreams and how he could hardly sleep, even with a Sleeping Potion. She asked if there was anything she could do. He replied, "not really". Harry saw her shiver and put his jacket around her along with his arm, putting them awfully close together. Harry looked into her eyes and felt a sense of longing swell up in him. He leaned towards her and kissed her on the lips. It was a brief, gentle kiss; one of tenderness and love.

At first, Ginny didn't know what to do, but as she felt Harry's lips pressing against hers; she melted into them. She kissed him back, fulfilling some part of her. As their lips parted, Ginny saw the look in Harry's eyes. It was a look of love. You could always tell what Harry was thinking by those green eyes that were one of his major flaws, but one that made him human. Harry smiled a boyish smile, which made her smile back. Then Ginny laid her head on his shoulder, looking at the sky, thinking, "This will be a great summer".
******
Harry didn't know exactly why he had done that, but was glad he had. For the first time in a long time, he felt happy, and he felt content to sit her with Ginny for all of eternity. However, of course they couldn't sit there all night. Harry looked over at Ginny and saw that she had fallen asleep with a smile on her face and a blush still on her cheeks. He slowly started to stand, making sure she didn't wake up. He then picked her up and carried her to her room as silently as possible. As he walked back to his room ,he peeked into the room where Hermione was staying and noticed that she wasn't there. He started to go look for her but guessed it would be best if he didn't. He laid down and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. He did dream again, not of Voldemort or Cedric, but of a red headed girl with a smile that could melt the coldest heart in the world.
Harry awoke to the sound of voices outside of his room. He slowly began to recognize them. They belonged to Ron, Hermione, and Ginny. They were whispering in hushed tones. Harry got up quietly, putting on his glasses. He then grabbed his invisibility cloak and went to stand beside the door. It cracked open a touch as three people crawled in and headed towards the bed. Just as they were preparing to jump onto it Harry grabbed Ginny from behind. She screamed as she felt his hand on her. Harry felt her twisting, trying to get away. As she escaped, the cloak caught on the button of her shirt and was pulled off of Harry. The look of horror was worth it to Him. He tried to keep from laughing but it finally escaped as he fell to the floor, holding his sides. After it had dawned on everyone what had happened they joined Harry. The room echoed with the sound of their laughter for a few minutes and then they hear Mrs. Weasley yelling that breakfast was ready. They started up the stairs, with Ron leading the way, then Hermione, Ginny, and finally Harry. All of a sudden Ginny tripped and started to fall backwards towards Harry. On instincts he put his hands out to catch her but she fell at an odd angle. Harry caught her but it threw him off balance, sending them both down the stairs.
