Chapter 2 ~ Portal
~
"Hello, Harry."
Harry's eyes snapped open, seeing nothing - only darkness. He noticed he was standing. His breathing elevated and he reached for his wand - it wasn't there. His eyes widened and he panicked. He was blind with no wand - in the wizarding world that wasn't the best thing to happen to a person. Was he in the wizarding world?
"Well, aren't you going to talk to me? Don't tell me that the cat's got your tongue." It was a girl's voice - he could tell that it was a girl's voice but it was a low throaty, and calm voice. It made chills run up and down his spine at how eerie it sounded.
She laughed menacingly. "Would you like some light?"
Harry looked all around desperately trying to see through the suffocating blackness. He couldn't hear where her voice was coming from because it echoed off of the walls.
"Aren't you going to answer me, Harry?"
He tried to locate where the voice came from but couldn't.
"Oh, come on, Harry, no one likes the dark. Now aren't you going to answer me?"
Harry didn't want to answer her at all. Why did she want him to answer her so badly?
"You know it's rude to not answer a question when asked."
Harry felt along the walls. Maybe if her found the light switch or her or...
"I'm losing my patients, Harry, and I couldn't even describe to you how horrible the consequences are when I loose them. Now answer me!" Her calm voice angered slightly and Harry paused.
"Yes," he said tonelessly.
"Yes," she repeated, "well that was simple enough." The room was filled with a light glow orange and Harry looked all around for her. "That's much better, isn't it?"
Harry couldn't see her - she wasn't anywhere to be found and her voice echoed off of the walls so he couldn't pinpoint her location by listening to the sound of her voice.
"Here we go with the questions game again, are you or are you not going to answer?"
Harry frantically looked about the small three metres by three-metre room. "Who are you and how do you know my name?" he asked angrily.
"Answer my question first, Harry, then I'll get to yours." Her voice was calm and Harry tried to remember her question.
"Yes, the light is much better," he said dryly.
"You're going to have to do better than that and a 'thank you' would be very much appreciated." Already, Harry was getting impatient with her calmness.
"Yes, much better, thank you," he said urging to grit his teeth.
"You're welcome, Harry, now to your questions. Who am I? Oh, just a little old fly on the wall." She laughed sadistically and Harry's eyebrows furrowed.
"Now, how do I know you? Well, you're Harry James Potter. Your favourite colour is red, your best friends are Ronald Bilius Weasley and Hermione Jane Granger, and you have only two live blood relatives - Petunia Marie Dursley and Dudley Patrick Alan Dursley. Would you like me to tell you more?"
Harry sighed angrily. "I asked 'how do you know me' not 'how much do you know me'!" Harry exclaimed.
"Temper, temper, sweet Harry, you know that that isn't the best tone to take with me. I will forget your rudeness but you better watch yourself in the future."
"Why am I here?" he asked trying to be calm.
"You're here because of something you have done in your past - or for the fact I love to see squirm with anger, my dear Harry." Calm! Always calm! Doesn't she use any other tone?
Harry shuddered. Great a fan had kidnapped him! "Isn't it interesting how much you loathe me already and yet you barely know me?" she asked.
Harry wondered if that was a rhetorical question. "Er - well, I don't exactly want to know you. For God sakes! You kidnapped me you bloody arsehole!" Harry yelled. He felt as if he was talking to the friggen wall!
"Tut, tut, me a bloody arsehole? You must be joking." She let out a laugh that would best fit a maniac.
Harry's eyes narrowed when he realized that he had no shadow. It actually scared him a little bit... "Where am I?"
"Through a portal in a different world. Don't worry they won't miss you."
Harry's heart stopped for a beat and his eyes widened. He gulped. "W-who won't miss me? I'm not going to be stuck here forever." He paused and swallowed a lump in his throat. "Am I?"
She let out a loud cackle. "No one will notice you're gone," she said calmly.
