She Was a Gryffindor, He Was a Slytherin
He was standing in the middle of Platform 9 and 3/4 when he saw her.
Who is she? I've never seen her before. She...she's beautiful!
The girl he was staring at had shiny red hair down just past her shoulders. She was very thin with long slender legs. She had a light dusting of freckles across her cheeks.
Who is she? Is she an exchange student? Maybe she'll be in Slytherin. She looks lost, maybe I should go help her.
"Oy, Ginny! We're over here!" yelled Ron.
And then to his horror she answered back and began to walk toward him.
"Did you find a compartment, Ron?" she asked.
"Yeah, me, you, Harry, and Hermione will be in there. C'mon! We gotta hurry up, Gin!"
She's a Weasley! Ginny Weasley! I was goggling over a Weasley!
Draco stalked off to find Crabbe and Goyle with a very sour look on his face.

There he is...thought Ginny...if only my brother knew...
The person that she was staring at was probably the only person who was totally forbidden to her. Draco Malfoy. And worse yet, he wasn't the only one she liked. Her other crush was his worst enemy, Harry Potter.
She had started liking Draco in the middle of last year. She had always loved Harry.
But Ginny had a deep, dark secret. The Sorting Hat had wanted to put her in Slytherin, but Ginny had refused. She could only imagine what her brothers would say if they knew.
"Hey Gin, anything wrong?" asked Harry.
"N-no, I'm fine," Ginny responded while her heart skipped a beat.
She had gotten much better at hiding her feelings, but still nobody was perfect.
"So Harry have you seen, um," Ron said glancing at Ginny, "Snuffles lately?"
"Yeah I saw him last month. He's hanging out with Moony,"
"Good. At least he should be safe there for a while," said Hermione.
"Who's Snuffles?" asked Ginny.
"Um, uh, he's a stray dog," said Harry.
"Well then who's Moony?"
"He's, uh, a sort of dog-ish thing!" Ron said quickly.
Ginny just raised an eyebrow.
"Whatever."
All was quiet, except for the train which had now departed and the sound of Hermione flipping pages in one of her textbooks.
"Oh no! I forgot how to perform a Fidelius charm! I thought it was on page 920 in Advanced Charms but I was wrong! Oh no! What am I going to tell Professor Flitwick!?"
"Oh my goodness! I haven't memorized all of my textbooks! What am I going to do!?" Ron said sarcastically in a high pitched voice.
Harry and Ginny burst out laughing.
"It's not funny!" Hermione yelled.
"Oh c'mon Hermoninny! You're a prefect, I think the professors will forgive you for not being perfect."
"It's all the more reason I have to be!" she huffed.
Ron just sighed.
"Hey Hermione?" Ginny asked suddendly struck with an idea.
"Yes?" she answered impatiently, still flipping pages in her textbook.
"How are things with you and Krum?"
Ron sat straight up, causing himself to drop his wizard chess set on top of Pig's cage which sent Pig into a frenzy hooting madly.
Hermione just looked increasingly nervous.
"Oh-h-he and uh, I, decided t-to..."
All of a sudden Hermione let out a small cry and tears began to stream from her eyes.
"W-we deci-deci-decided it wa-wasn't going to w-work out. W-we live t-too far apart!" Hermione cried, dropping to her knees and breaking into a mad fit of tears. Ron rushed over and immediately started comforting her. Harry and Ginny just looked at each other wondering what to do.
Then what could have been the worst possible thing that could happen at that moment, happened. Draco Malfoy and his two cronies stepped into the car.
"Oh what's wrong, Mudblood? Did you just find out who Slytherin's new prefect is?" Malfoy sneered flashing his badge, "or did Krummy decide he was too good for a Mudblood like you!"
Hermione got a look in her eyes that would have caused anyone else to run away screaming in terror, and Ron just lost it.
He ran at Malfoy with both hands out in front of him like he was going to wring his neck. Harry had to throw his whole body weight at Ron to stop him, and that was hardly enough if you considered how much bigger Ron was than Harry.
"Ron stop it! He's not worth it!" yelled Harry.
"We can't let him just get away with something like this again!"
Draco laughed and said, "Potty and Weasel fighting! What more could I ask for? Wait, and Mudblood got dumped by a professional Quidditch star, I don't even need Christmas this year!"
Crabbe and Goyle just stood there nodding their heads stupidly.
"Shut it, Malfoy, you stupid git!" yelled Ginny with her wand in hand.
God she's beautiful when she's angry. Wait, no, she's a Weasley, what am I thinking?!?
Regaining his composure, Draco said, "And what are you going to do to stop me?"
"Turn you into a giant canary! With Fred and George for older brothers you tend to get very good at Transfiguration. Leave NOW!" Ginny yelled looking furious.
Draco had a very strange and unreadable look on his face.
"Fine! We will leave, but just you four wait!" Malfoy sneered as he stomped out of the compartment with Crabbe and Goyle behind him.
Harry and Ron stared at Ginny.
"Gin, how'd you do that?" asked Ron
"Do what Ron?"
"Scare off Malfoy. We've almost NEVER been able to do that!" Harry stated, amazed.
Ginny blushed.
"Oh that. Draco probably couldn't take the thought of being turned into a giant canary. He's too vain."
"I'll have to try that," said Ron helping Hermione stand up.
Harry picked up the chess set and Ginny sat down and stared out the window wondering how she could like someone who could be that cruel.
She didn't notice a pair of green eyes watching her.
