- Author's Note:
- Well heres the next chapter of the story. I had this chapter and the next one written up for a long time, but I wasn't sure how to post it. Thankfully I have a friend who was nice enough to show me how to do it! Anyways I wanna thank everyone for the nice reviews on my first chapter! I tried to take all your advice to heart and I revised my former chapter 2 and 3 to make them better. And for those of you who asked me to owl you I'm not exactly sure how those work, but I will ask my friend to show me. Please read and review, and constructive criticism is always welcome.
The Great Hall was filled with the chattering and gossiping of teenagers. The gossip centered mainly around Ginny and Harry as they were the "new couple." There was speculation on how long they would last. Some said they wouldn't make it a month, while the romantics thought that they were destined to be together from the very beginning. Some girls glanced jealously at Ginny, because she was the girl Harry chose and not one of them. Ginny did not pay any attention to this. She just smiled happily and talked with her close knit group of friends.
Ginny sat in between Hermione and Harry. She and Hermione had become very close over the past couple of years, she was like the older sister Ginny never had. Harry and Ron were in a heated debate over whether or not the Nimbus 3000 or the Nimbus 3001 had better steering ability, so Hermione and Ginny decided it would be better to stay out of their conversation and have their own.
"You sure have been all smiles lately Ginny," Hermione said with a knowing smile.
"I can't help it, this is the happiest I think I have ever been. Do you know how long I have waited for this day to come?" she replied.
Hermione laughed and said, "I knew he would ask you out sooner or later."
Ginny nodded her head and turned to look at Harry. As if he could tell she was looking at him he turned to her and smiled, grasping her hand under the table. Ginny blushed slightly with a small grin on her face. She loved his smile and the way it lit up his face. Harry had broken many a heart with that killer smile, and it made her happy to be on the receiving end of it. When he started to trace little patterns on the back of her palm she felt her insides go to mush. This was what she wanted, this was right.
She suddenly saw out of the corner of her eye that flash of blonde again. She looked in that direction and saw who it was, Malfoy. He was the one who was spying on her and Harry yesterday, how dare he! Malfoy suddenly turned and caught her gaze with his. His eyes bore into hers making her feel uncomfortable. His lips twisted into his usual smirk. She turned away from his piercing gaze and stood up abruptly.
"Oh, I have to get to Care of Magical Creatures," Ginny said hastily. She gave Harry a quick peck on the cheek and ran out the door.
Once she left the Great Hall she let out a breath that she didn't realize she had been holding. What happened back there? Why was Draco staring at her like that? She took a deep breath and cleared her thoughts. Who cares, she thought, he hates our family anyways. He was probably just trying to piss me off. She cleared her thoughts and started to jog off towards Care of Magical Creatures, she didn't want to be late for her favorite class.
At the Slytherin table Draco sat smirking to himself. It was quite easy to get the little Weasley girl all flustered. He watched her as she nearly ran out of the Great Hall. He then noticed Potter, who looked confused, watching his girlfriend's retreating back. He glared evilly at him. He absolutely hated Harry Potter, the Boy Who Fucking Lived! He didn't hate him because he was famous; no it went deeper than that. He hated him because he never lost; he always came out on top no matter what he did. He was so damn lucky, him and his stupid cronies, "The Dream Team."
Draco looked around at his fellow Slytherins. What a disgrace his house had become. There was not one respectable person left, except for Blaise, who at least had some dignity left in him. His grade was filled with sluts and idiots. New students would rather be put in Hufflepuff than Slytherin. Completely disgusted Draco got up and left the Great Hall.

Ginny was heading back to the common room from Potions, her last class of the day. She absolutely hated that class. She had received a detention today for absolutely no reason, not that Snape ever gave a reason for giving out detentions. She was so angry that she wasn't paying any attention to where she was going, until she looked up and realized she had no clue where she was.
Great, she thought, now I'm lost. She looked around her trying to remember which way she came from. With a frustrated sigh she just turned and started walking down a random hallway. She hated the dungeons, they were so creepy. The pictures on the wall stared menacingly at her. Averting her gaze from the walls, she kept on walking blindly forward. She came to a dead end, and in front of her was a giant portrait of a green and silver snake ready to strike. It writhed around in the portrait, hissing at her. The portrait then moved to the side, and someone stepped out form behind it.
Ginny jumped in surprise, and nearly cried out, and then she saw who it was. Draco Malfoy was standing in front of her with his tell-tale smirk on his face.
"Look who it is," Draco said, "circling her like a vulture, it's one of the Weasels."
"I'm not in the mood for this Draco, I need to get back to the Gryffindor common room," she replied, her voice a little shaky.
His smirk widened, "You have grown a backbone over the summer Weasley," he then looked her up and down, "and you seem to have grown in other ways as well."
Ginny blushed furiously, she needed to get out of here. "Look Draco, I'm lost okay, can you please just show me how to get out of here?"
Draco stopped his circling and stood in front of her, contemplating over whether or not to help her. He took a step closer to her and said, "Fine, I will help you." He turned then and started to walk down the hallway.
Ginny had to nearly run to keep up with him. He had grown very tall and his stride was long. She also noticed how he had changed over the summer. His hair had grown longer, and it now reached to nearly his chin. Everything else was the same though, from his defiant smirk right down to his arrogant walk. He was quite handsome, she had to admit, and she knew that Draco knew this as well. She had to stop thinking about him. He was an arrogant jerk who cared about nothing other than himself. Draco stopped suddenly and she realized she was now back where she started; in front of the potions room.
"Umm, thanks," Ginny said, starting to walk past him, but he grabbed her arm before she could get away. "What do you think you are doing," Ginny said angrily.
"You didn't think I would do that for free did you?" he said, and then before she could reply he brought his lips down on hers in a searing kiss.
Ginny was completely shocked, but was more shocked when she felt her body respond to his kiss. She leaned into him, though her mind was screaming at her to get away. This kiss ended abruptly and Draco pulled away, smirking down at her. Ginny looked into his smoldering eyes, trying to understand what just happened.
Draco then leaned over and whispered in her ear, "Now tell me Ginny, does Potter make you feel this way?"
He turned and walked away from Ginny, leaving her standing alone in the hallway. He headed back to his common room with his smirk firmly in place. Now, he thought, let the games begin.
