All's Fair in Love and War
Or
If You Can't Trust Your Brother
"I want you to know, I'm happy for you. I wish nothing but the best for you both. It was a slap in the face, how quickly I was replaced... Are you thinking of me when you fuck him."
Fred sat back, dropped the quill he was writing with and scratched his head. **An older version of me. Is he perverted like me? Would he go down on you in the theatre?** A sob escaped his lips as he looked at the letter he was trying to answer.
Dearest Fred,
I know it is hard to believe that we have been together for
more than two years. It seems like merely seconds. As much
as I love you I must confess that I can't be with you anymore.
I am in love with Percy. I don't know how it happened but it
did and we've been together now for a month and have been
trying to find a way to tell you. I wish I could have you both
but I know that is impossible... And I have made my decision...
Sorry Love, I hope you can understand and forgive both of us.
Love,
Oliver
"Bloody BASTARD!" he crumpled the letter and threw it in the commons room fire. **So he speaks eloquently and he would have your baby. I'm sure he'd make a really excellent mother. ** It was three AM and all the other Gryffindors were asleep. But Fred couldn't sleep. He couldn't eat. He couldn't do...anything. Everything reminded him of his Ollie. The crackling fire reminded him of that cold winter day they spent keeping each other warm. The Quidditch pitch reminded him of the hundreds of practices they shared...not to mention the showers afterward. The light sound of rain on the tower roof made him think of the countless times they had sat at the window watching the rain fall gently on the school's grounds. He sighed. The dull ache in his chest wouldn't leave him alone. He pulled his knees up to his chest and rested his head on them.

George Weasley sat up, rubbed his eyes, and looked at the clock on his nightstand. 3:10AM. His eyes drifted around the room that he shared with his twin and the other seventh years to the bed where his brother was supposed to be sleeping. It looked untouched. He sighed heavily, stood, and went looking for Fred.
When he entered the commons room he saw Fred curled up on the couch near the fire, sobs raking his body, his usually bulky form was thinned out from not eating and collapsed in on itself. George perched on the edge of the couch and began stroking his twin's back.
"Wh-wh-why w-wasn't I good enough?" Fred sobbed into the couch. "I did everything I could," he swallowed hard in a vain attempt to stem the flow of tears from his bloodshot eyes. "He told me he'd hold me until he died, but he's still alive!"
"Shhh Shhh Shhh, Stop crying, everything will be alright."
Fred rested his head on George's lap.
"I'll make everything better, I promise."
"George, What do you do if you can't trust your brother anymore?"
George leaned over and placed a soft kiss on Fred's forehead, "You trust your twin."
