An Apology Is Just Words

Chapter 11: Yule Ball, Part 2

Ron and Hermione were laughing outside near the fountain when they see Harry run past them. Ron and Hermione exchanged quick glances and then started laughing again. Hermione looked at Ron, and the moon seemed to make his aqua eyes look so beautiful. Hermione reached over and touched his cheek. At that instant, Ron stopped laughing.

Looking into her eyes, Ron smiled. Her brown eyes were illuminated and her wavy brown hair matched it. Her smile was sweet and sincere. Ron reached over for her other hand and held it with both his hands. Hermione then took the hand from his cheek and placed it on top of his. Their hands were intertwined, and they both didn't want it to end. Ron slowly removed one of his hands and brushed away a strand of Hermione's hair from her face.

"What are you thinking?" he asked, and his voice made Hermione melt. Hermione smiled.

"That I don't want this to end," she said. Ron's smile became a little wider.

"Me too," he said, hugging her. Hermione nestled her head in his chest and didn't want to let go.

"Promise me something," Hermione whispered.

"Anything" Ron said, not even hesitating.

"That no matter what, we will be together," Hermione said. Ron smiled, even though Hermione couldn't see it.

"Promise," he said, quietly. Hermione withdrew from him and stood up.

"Dance with me," she said. Ron looked puzzled.

"There is no music." Hermione laughed. What a Ron thing to say.

Hermione pulled out her wand and whispered something that Ron couldn't make out. Almost instantly, there was music. Ron smiled. He stood up and grabbed Hermione.

When the world wasn't upside down

I could take all the time I had

But I'm not gonna wait when a moment can vanish so fast

'Cause every kiss is a kiss you can never get back

At that very moment, Ron forgot about everything and focused on Hermione. He forgot about the war between Voldemort and everyone who wasn't evil. He forgot about the fact that Ginny was probably making out with Draco. He forgot about Harry and Blaise. He forgot about everything but Hermione.

He didn't want to let go. It was too hard for him to. He didn't want the moment to end, because he knew that if he did, he would lose it. He didn't want to miss anything with Hermione.

He didn't know when it all would vanish.

Lift me up

In your eyes

If you told me that is what heaven is, well you'd be right

I've been waiting forever for this

This is the night

Hermione was smiling inside. This has been the best night she had ever had. Ron was in her arms and nothing mattered. There was no good or evil right there. There was no right or wrong. There was only bliss and love. Hermione held him closer and closed her eyes.

Ron suddenly knew that this is where he was meant to be. He has been waiting for this forever. He finally had the one thing he wanted. Hermione.

Draco and Ginny were sitting at their table, drinking Pumpkin Juice. Ginny felt like she was on the top of the world, for once in her life. Draco slowly put down his goblet and took a long look at Ginny. Ginny turned to the stage, watching as Angie sang her final song. A few people were left on the dance floor, while others were just sitting and drinking. The Professors had already gone to their rooms.

Draco was examining Ginny's outfit. The periwinkle dress robes complimented her skin tone. It wasn't all that long; it was just below her knees. The sandals wrapped around her slender long legs, which seemed to run in the Weasley line. Draco looked at her face, which was absolutely glowing in the light given by the Great Hall. Her hair seemed so radiant. He didn't like the fact that she was a red head, but he couldn't help but be attracted to it.

"What are you staring at?" Ginny asked, suddenly pulling Draco out of his daze. Draco grinned and laughed.

"Nothing in particular," Draco said, his voice mysterious. Ginny couldn't resist giggling. Draco raised his eyebrow.

"Are you saying that you were just drifting off into space, thinking about nothing?" Ginny asked.

"Is there a problem with that?" he asked, playfully.

"No, I just think it's kind of sexy," Ginny said, her voice lingering.

"Are you trying to seduce me?" he asked. Ginny reached over and gently touched his cheek.

"Are you seducible?" she asked, her voice still lingering.

"I shouldn't have let you see that movie," Draco said, laughing. He was remembering when he enchanted a screen in his room so they could see the movie "A Walk to Remember". She was quoting Shane West, who Ginny was gawking over the whole movie.

"Why not?" she asked, sounding more and more like a Veela with each word she said.

"Never mind," Draco said, smiling.

"Thanks you guys for attending the Yule Ball! I hope you guys had as much fun as I had! I hope you guys aren't too crazy that you guys will do something wrong. Have a nice night and thank you for having me here!" Angie yelled, as the students began piling out of the room. Angie was waving at the students, while some students were running to her for an autograph. Angie happily gave them out.

"Well, this hasn't been that bad huh?" Draco asked, standing up. He offered his hand to Ginny to help her up. She took it and he pulled her to her feet.

"Nope," Ginny said, her voice back to normal.

"What happened to the lingering tone? I liked it," Draco said, playfully, yet sounding sad.

"Well Draco, if you want, we could go outside and stare at the stars," she whispered to him in the lingering tone.

"Oh, I think I might like that," he said, with a wink. Just then, Angie joined them, smiling.

"Thanks for letting me do this," she said, hugging them both. Draco reluctantly patted her on the back and Ginny hugged her. Draco stared at them both and Ginny lightly slapped him on his arm.

"Staring isn't good for your health," she said, laughing. Draco smiled.

"Well anyways, if you guys need anymore entertainment, just owl me. You know where to find me," Angie said, slinging her bag over her shoulder.

"Wait, how much should we pay for you coming?" Draco asked. Angie smiled.

"No charge. This one is on the house," she said, smiling. She turned to walk away. When she was gone, Draco took Ginny's hand and guided her outside, to stare at the stars.

Harry finally caught up with Blaise. He stopped her and pulled her to the side. Blaise raised her eyebrow and smiled at Harry.

"What is it?" she asked. Harry held up the letter.

"Is it true? Everything in this letter?" he asked. Blaise stared at the letter for a while before answering.

"Would you hate me if I said yes?" she asked. Harry sighed. He pocketed the letter.

"No," he said. Blaise let out a sigh of relief.

"That's good," she said, almost to herself. Blaise began to stare at the ground. Harry tilted her head back up.

"Why did you do what you did? Why couldn't you just let it go? Why did you have to try and seduce Draco?" Harry asked. Blaise sighed.

"Maybe because...I don't know. I don't know what comes over me sometimes. You don't understand. I just don't know what is wrong with me. Maybe I figured a guy like you wouldn't like a girl like me. I am the kind of girl you would know would become evil. I tried to forgive myself for what I did, but I can't," she said, rambling. Harry brushed her cheek.

"Well, I thought a girl like you wouldn't like a boy like me. I mean; I'm the one that always saves the day. I'm kind of sick of that label, but I can't. Everyone expects me to go and date someone who is just like me. But I don't want that kind of girl. I want the kind of girl I can't have," Harry said. Blaise looked at him.

"Maybe it wasn't meant to be," she said quietly.

"Maybe it is," Harry said. Blaise looked away for a moment.

"You never would understand. I mean, my father had always told me to hate you. You defeated the one person my dad admired. I guess because I hated my father, I started to love you. And my hate for my father had caused me to give up being a Death Eater. Now I'm someone they want to kill," she said.

"Well at least I don't want to kill you," Harry said. Blaise looked back at him. "And I don't want to go to war with anyone. I mean, I do want Voldemort dead, but I don't want to go into war. Maybe I'm just scared of losing a loved one again," he said.

"Maybe you are. But you should know that everyone is willing to die trying to kill You-Know-Who," Blaise answered.

"Why are we talking about this?" he asked, smiling.

"I don't know," Blaise said. Just then, Harry grabbed her hand slowly. Of course, Blaise couldn't help but grab his other hand. Harry slowly kissed her lips, but somehow, the kissed deepened.

Blaise slowly put her hand on his chest, and then wrapped her hands around him. Harry placed his hand behind her head, tilting it back.
