Chapter 8: Life Makes An Unexpected Turns

"Hi, Harry..." This is all Ginny could have said. Harry was standing there, at the door of Potions class, staring at Draco and Ginny. This was the last place Ginny wanted to be. Especially since she has been caught with Draco Malfoy, someone who Harry despises. And Draco hated Harry.

"What are you doing here?" Harry said through bared teeth. He was directing this question to Draco, rather than Ginny. Draco smirked and looked at Ginny.

"I just came to visit Ginny," Draco said, rather smoothly.

"And you kissed her?" Harry asked, suddenly with hatred in his eyes. Ginny knew that this wasn't going to be pretty.

"Well, I'm sorry, I didn't know that you didn't want me to," Draco said sarcastically. Ginny wanted to giggle. She loved it when he acted like that.

"I thought you didn't like Weasleys. Why are you kissing one?" Harry asked, suddenly changing the subject. Draco laughed.

"Would you stop acting like I am not here?" Ginny asked, pulling Draco and Harry out of their argument.

"Sorry, Ginny. I didn't mean to," Draco said, brushing his hand against her hair. Right there. Right in front of Harry. Harry. Harry the one who likes her. Oh this is going to be ugly.

"Could you please stop touching her?" Harry asked, even though it was more like ordered.

"Harry, will you stop telling him what to do? I'm sorry that you don't like what is happening. But I would have never have done this if it weren't for you. It may be a problem for you, but it isn't for me. You had your chance, but you passed it up. I'm sorry," Ginny said, grabbing her bag.

"Where are you going? This is your next class. And that starts in twenty minutes," Draco said. Ginny nodded.

"I know, but I have to go for a walk. Bye you two. And don't fight," Ginny said, leaving. Draco and Harry were left standing there, glaring at each other.

"You ruined everything! Ginny was a good girl. She listened to her friends! And now she is suddenly changing. And you're to blame!" Harry said, once Ginny was out of earshot. Draco laughed.

"Excuse me? It was your fault that she was like this! You left her and went out with Blaise. Don't tell me that Gryffindors can't date Slytherins because you did that too. Blaise and Ginny do have a history together; did you know that? Or maybe you didn't care about Ginny. You only cared because now she is dating a big bad Slytherin," Draco said, making Harry think. Harry didn't know about Blaise and Ginny's history and he wanted to know.

"What happened between Blaise and Ginny?" Harry asked, suddenly calm.

"Ginny went out with Seamus Finnigan, even though she didn't tell anyone. They thought that they were in love. But Ginny was wrong. She caught Seamus and Blaise making out in the same exact room that she found you two in and she dumped him on the spot. Ginny has hated Blaise ever since," Draco said. Harry sighed. Was Blaise really such a slut?

"Ginny didn't hate her earlier?" Harry asked, wondering out loud.

"No. Ginny and Blaise were close. Even though they didn't show it. They would hang out a bit and really got to know each other. But Blaise was threatened by Ginny. Blaise liked Seamus. But Ginny didn't know. When Seamus asked her out, Blaise was the first to know. And Blaise did everything in her power to have Seamus. And it ended up hurting Ginny," Draco said, pulling on his bag. It was odd. They both hate each other but they share one common love. And she just happened to be Ginny Weasley.

Ron and Hermione were walking to Charms when Ginny crashed into them. Ron stumbled backwards and Hermione fell down. Ron quickly went to help her up. "Gin! Watch where you're going!" Ron said. Ginny looked at Ron, then at Hermione.

"Jeez Ron, isn't Mione supposed to be saying that?" Ginny said, her voice nervous. She had just run away from the fight between Draco and Harry. She was pretty sure that they both had bloody noses.

"Gin, why are you walking away from the dungeons? I thought you have Potions next," Hermione said before Ron could answer back to his sister. Ginny gulped. She hated the fact that Hermione knew her whole schedule.

"Umm, yeah, but I forgot something in the Common Room. I have to hurry and get it," Ginny lied quickly as she ran in the direction of the Gryffindor Tower. Ron began to call after her, but Hermione covered his mouth.

"You know when your sister is lying. There is something wrong; we both know that. But maybe this is something we shouldn't get into," Hermione said. Ron nodded. Whatever it was, he wanted to find out.

"So, you know about this whole not getting into it thing, what do you think is wrong with her?" Ron asked. Hermione laughed. He never gives up.

"Most likely some boy troubles. You never know with her," Hermione said as she walked into Charms class. Ron nodded and followed her. Ron sat down next to Hermione and smiled at her.

"Were you ever like that?" he asked playfully.

"Yes, I always ran away. I even told Sirius," Hermione said, looking at Ron.

"You told Sirius and you didn't tell me?" Ron asked. Hermione giggled. Boys could be slow sometimes.

"Well, I couldn't tell you my little problems because you were the problem. I thought you might get all weird around me. Besides, good things happen to people who wait," Hermione said before looking at the Professor.

Blaise was sitting in the Library, scanning for some boys. Of course, hardly anyone was there because they had class, but Blaise didn't care. She was bored and she thought that she might find her new flavor of the week.

Just then, Harry walked in. Even though he had Charms class, he thought it might be better to skip it and refresh his mind. He certainly wanted to know what happened with Blaise and Ginny. He scanned the library and saw the one person he didn't want to see. Blaise.

But he couldn't help but wanting to talk to her. He walked towards her. Blaise straightened her back and smiled at Harry.

"What a pleasant surprise," Blaise said, putting down her book. Harry faked a smile.

"Yes it is," he said. Blaise motioned for him to sit down. Harry took the seat across from her. Suddenly tons of memories came flooding back. He remembered when they sat like this when they were dating. They would spend countless hours together. Harry had to hold back his smile.

"So what do you want to talk about? Do you want to talk about our very public breakup? Or of Ginny Weasley? Or of how Ginny and Draco are an item? Or how Ron and Hermione are in Charms and you're here, talking to your ex-girlfriend?" Blaise said, emphasizing the last question.

"About all. Where should we start? Maybe of what happened between you and Ginny. You two were best of friends. What happened?" Harry asked. Blaise let out a laugh.

"Draco told you that," Blaise said.

"It doesn't matter who told me that. Just tell me your answer," Harry said.

"Fine, but you better listen good. I am only telling you once because I dislike the story. It started off two years ago. I think. Yeah, that's correct. Anyway. Ginny and I met here, at this very table in the library. She was looking for some book and I offered to help. I don't know what came over me that time, but I just wanted to help. So we started looking for the book and we started talking. We eventually started to hang out. But you didn't notice that we hung out. You only noticed Cho Chang. Well, back to the story. I never told Ginny that I had a crush on Seamus," Blaise said. Harry was hanging on to her every word.

"That's when you stole him from Ginny," Harry said.

"I did not steal him. He told me that he was single. So I went in for the kill. And then she walked in on us. She hated me since. And I hated her too, because she hated me. I never told anyone this story, so you better take it to the grave," Blaise said.

"Wait, are you saying that Seamus told you he was single?" Harry asked.

"Yeah," Blaise answered.

"That means that this whole thing was started by Seamus. Thanks for telling me Blaise!" Harry said excitedly as he got up. Then he quickly kissed Blaise on the cheek and ran out of the library. He had to straighten something out with Seamus.

"Gee, you're welcome," Blaise said after Harry left.

[A/N: end of chapter 8. Next chapter will have Seamus and Harry's conversation. Plus, Draco's brilliant plan for the Yule Ball goes down in flames. Ron and Hermione have more intimate times. Can't wait!]
