Chapter 3: Falling for the First Time

Ginny was running to the library for the meeting with Draco. Ron had held her up at dinner, asking about what's going to happen tonight. Ginny kept saying that it was just a meeting and no, Malfoy isn't going to try and kiss me. Ron snorted. He didn't believe a word but he let her go anyway. The problem was, the time he let her go was 6:55. She really was going to be late.

She pulled open the double doors and looked around. Draco was the only one there. Madam Pince wasn't even there. Ginny took a deep breath and walked towards him. She looked at the time. 6:59. She wasn't late. She let out a sigh of relief.

"Well, I thought you weren't going to show," Draco said. Ginny slowly pulled out a chair and put down her bag. Ginny brushed away a lock of her hair and sighed.

"Of course I would show up. I just had a little problem called Ron," she said, pulling out parchment. She then took out her quill and ink. She looked at Draco hopefully.

"Well, I guess older brothers could be annoying. I would never know since I don't have any siblings, but I heard all about them, and I hear they're the worst. So, what did he do? Shove chocolate in your face and you couldn't breathe? Pluck out some hair from you head?" Draco asked. Ginny laughed at his total blindness.

"Not all brothers are mean. Ron is just looking out for me. He is always asking where I will be and whom I will be with. I never thought that he would pluck out my hair," she said, almost disgusted by her last remark.

"Fine, sure, whatever. Let's get started. First off, being a Prefect is an important part of this school. Sure, sometimes, we could be a pain in the arse, but we're cool," Draco said. Ginny nodded. She opened her inkbottle and dipped in her quill.

"Whoa, what are you doing, Weasley?" he asked, just as she was about to write.

"Taking notes. Isn't that what I am supposed to do?" Ginny asked. Draco pulled the quill out of her hand and examined it. It was old and over used. Draco wiped off the ink and examined the point. I guess you wouldn't call it a point. It was more of a dull.

"How long did you have this quill?" Draco asked, totally off subject. Ginny bit her lip.

"Long, I guess. It was Ron's and he gave it to me," she said. She hated that she was poor. Here she was, sitting across from one of the richest boys in school, talking about some old quill.

Draco pulled out three quills from his bag. "Take them. I got tons in the dorm. I think you need them more," he said handing them to her. Ginny shook her head.

"I don't need or want your pity. I know I am poor, but you don't have to rub it in my face," she said.

"I am not rubbing it in your face. I want to give you this. It's a welcoming present," he said.

"For what?" she snapped. Draco placed the three quills in front of her and smiled.

"A welcoming in becoming a Prefect," he answered. Ginny snorted.

"Cut the spit, Malfoy. You are taunting me, just like you taunted the rest of my family. You have taunted my brothers and our red hair and hand-me-down clothes. Let me tell you something Malfoy, I didn't believe that you were a nice person before and I don't believe it now," she said, all huffy and puffy. Draco stood up.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that. I am the Head Boy, and I believe that I could do whatever I want, no matter how bad. Do you know what it's like to have to listen to Saint Potter and his friends, everyday? They are the heroes of the school, and what am I? I am the demented arsehole that everyone hates! No one likes me in this school, and the only reason I am Head Boy is because I worked for this position. I worked so hard and all I get from you is spit. I don't want you to accept the fact that I am a jerk, but that I could be just as good as you Gryffindors," Draco said. Ginny bowed her head.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know that you had to work for this position. I thought you got in because of your bravado and money. I guess I was wrong about that. I was wrong to judge you when I never even met the real you. I am truly sorry," she said quietly. Draco was shocked.

"Thank you Weasley. I guess I judge you too early, just because you did not have as much money as me. I am sorry too," he said. He sat down and stuck out his hand.

"Friends? Or we could just be civil with each other?" he asked. Ginny nodded.

"Civil, it is," she said as she took his hand. His hand was warm and made her feel happy inside. Why did she feel so happy around him?

"Come on Harry, you have to help me," Ron said. They were sitting in the boys' dorm, playing cards. But it wasn't the cards that Ron was talking about.

"I cannot help you with your Hermione problem. Just be you. That's what I did," Harry said as he placed down three eights. Ron laughed.

"Yeah like that would happen. She already seen the real me. I don't think she liked it. Besides, you are playing this game all wrong. You can't put down three eights when I already put down three nines! Nine beats eight," he said. Harry quickly picked up his cards and put down three Jacks.

"Screw this game. Ron, you like her. Why are you hiding the way you feel? You told her that you like Lavender! Why?" Harry asked.

"I don't know. I thought it would be right to say. I just wasn't thinking," he answered.

"Yeah, you weren't thinking. God, you don't even like Lavender. You like Hermione. You have to stop lying to her. You have to tell her the truth," Harry said. Ron nodded.

"I guess you are right. But if you're wrong, I am going to kick your arse all the way to New Mexico," Ron said. Harry threw his cards at Ron.

"Don't you dare," Harry said. Harry started laughing. He loved it when they both had these intimate moments.

"Whatever Harry. Can we get back to the game?" Ron asked. Harry picked up all his cards and grabbed Ron's. He began to shuffle all the cards and smiled.

"What in the blazes is this game called anyways?" Harry asked as he gave out the cards. Ron smiled.

"Rich man, poor man," Ron said as he fanned out his cards. Harry noticed that he seemed to be good at all these card games.

"Where did you learn all these games from?" Harry asked as he looked at his cards.

"Fred and George. They seem to know all these games," Ron said as he pulled out two cards. He placed the two sevens on the table. Harry sighed.

"Fred and George. They were the troublemakers. Too bad that we couldn't be those two. I bet that would have been cool," Harry said as he put down two nines on the table.

"Well, they always got the girl," Ron said, almost absentmindedly.

"Yeah, they did," Harry said, almost crying.

Hermione was sitting in the classroom, waiting for Professor Black to come. He was supposed to help her with her something, and he was nowhere to be found. Hermione sighed.

"What, you gave up hope that I was going to come?" someone asked from behind. Finally, Sirius Black decided to show up.

"I just thought that you would be a little late," Hermione said.

"You know me too much," Sirius said. Hermione laughed. Sirius smiled. "So what did you need help on?" he asked.

"Well, I was wondering if you could help with a little guy problem," she said. Sirius laughed. He knew this was coming.

"Well, I can't help you with that. We guys are too stupid to see anything. Tell me a little about this problem though," he said.

"I like this guy, but he told me he liked someone else. I don't know what to do, or what to say to him," she said. Sirius nodded.

"Sounds like a major problem. Like I told you before, I can't help you. But I could give you a little piece of advice. Don't believe him. He is probably lying anyways. Besides, why wouldn't anyone like you? You are the perfect girl. Oh heck, if you were my age I would date you," Sirius said with a wink.

"Thanks, Sirius. Honestly," she said as she gathered her books and left.

[A/N: end of chapter three. Ok you notice all the parts where a swear word would be best, but I bleeped it with another word. I don't swear, and the only time I would swear is when a song I am writing a fic for has swearing (with the exception with "I'm With You"). Next chapter, you will see a bit more of the rivalry of Blaise and Ginny, and a bit of Harry showing his feelings for Ginny. Don't worry this won't be Harry/Ginny. But you will see some Ron/Hermione later in the story. Thanks to you reviewers!]
