The sun was shining, and the birds were chirping outside Narcissa's window, as she slowly woke up. It was Valentine's Day, and she was expecting a good present. She'd only been reminding Lucius about it for a month now. He was a good husband when it came to presents, and after fifteen years of practice, he'd had a lot of it. She rolled over to find that her husband was already up and about.

She slowly made her way out of bed, and downstairs to the dining room. She'd left Lucius' present in his office, so she assumed that he would have found it by now. It had taken her a good hour to actually make herself presentable enough to be seen by the general household. She rarely let anyone see her before she was made up.

Lucius always said that she looked beautiful before she made herself up, which of course, she always took as him saying she looked ugly once she put makeup on. She had a very short fuse, and even if she was only joking, she could turn it on full force in a second.

She was beginning to get a bit suspicious. She hadn't seen Lucius yet, and usually at this time, he was sitting in the dining room, reading the Daily Prophet. Today however, he was no where to be found.

Narcissa's Valentine's Day present was a lot easier to find. It was sitting on the dining room table, just begging her to look at it. The red heart-shaped box was innocent looking, but Narcissa was still apprehensive. Lucius usually hung around to gloat about his presents. His absence made her think that there was something wrong with this present.

She tentatively picked up the box, noting the card addressed to 'my beautiful wife,' before carefully and slowly pulling off the lid. She peeked under the lid of the box, furrowing her eyebrows as she saw the contents of it. She ripped off the lid quickly, tilting her head to the side as she took a better look at the inside of the box.

It was empty except for a piece of parchment. It was only after Narcissa read it, that she became quite angry with her husband. It actually became quite difficult for her to see, due to the white hot rage that was coursing through her veins.

'Make me a sandwich. LM'

She stormed out of the room, intent on finding Lucius, and soon. There were only so many places he could hide. She checked his office first, and there he was, sitting in his chair, with a smug grin on his face.

"Make me a sandwich?" Narcissa screeched at her husband. "Make me a sandwich? I'll make you a sandwich!"

Narcissa pointed her wand at her amused husband, and muttered something under her breath. She was the one smirking, as she lowered her wand.

Lucius looked rather disgruntled. Narcissa had turned him into a sandwich. Quite literally. He was a salad sandwich.

"Ciss! It was just a joke!" Lucius whined. He was a strange looking sandwich, as he still had eyes and a mouth.

"Lucius. You should know by know, I don’t take well to jokes," Narcissa replied, crossing her arms.

"But it's funny!"

"And so is you as the sandwich."

"Fine. Whatever. Your real present is in the box anyway. It's a fake bottom, love."

"A fake bottom? What? I happen to think my bottom looks nice!"

Lucius cringed as well as a sandwich could.

"No love, I mean the box had a hidden compartment."

"Oh," Narcissa said, colouring slightly. She was still a little mad.

She pulled out the fake bottom, and automatically blushed at how much she'd overreacted. Inside the box was her real present, a large emerald and diamond pendant. She quickly reversed her spell, watching as Lucius dropped back into his seat, in human form. She slid over the desk, pushing his papers out of her way, to kiss him.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Ciss."

"Happy Valentine's Day, Luch."
