Unyielding Passions

Chapter 2: Heated Relations

"Oy, Harry!" Ron said, shaking Harry in an attempt to wake him.

"What?" Harry said, opening his eyes and then closing them again.

"We need to get going; the train leaves in about an hour and a half. If you want breakfast we'd better get going," he said, throwing a few last things in his trunk and standing by the door.

"Oh," Harry said. He stood up, pulled on some Muggle clothes, and went to his trunk to find a pair of socks. He noticed that his invisibility cloak wasn't in his trunk. He looked on the floor between his bed and Ron's and he saw his cloak lying in a heap. Suddenly, memories of the night before came rushing into his mind. He put his head in his hands and felt the color drain from his face.

Ron saw his friend's distraught look and said, "Harry, mate, are you alright?" He walked over to Harry and put his hand on his friend's shoulder in case he started to fall.

"Um, yeah, I'm okay," Harry said, touching his fingers to his lips. They began to tingle at the thought of his enemy's sweet kiss. 'No, not sweet,' he thought quickly. 'I don't like boys, especially not Draco Malfoy! It was a surprise, a disgusting, ridiculous, horrible surprise.'

"You sure?" Ron said warily. "I don't want you to die or anything."

"No, Ron. I'm fine, let's go down to breakfast; I'm sure 'Mione is waiting for us," he said, walking out the door and starting down the stairs.

"Okay," Ron said, bounding down the stairs behind him.

Down in the Great Hall, Hermione and Ron sat across from Harry whispering fervently. Since they had started dating at Halloween, they had had many whispered conversations. However, today they kept looking at Harry and Hermione had that motherly, worried look.

"What?!" he said, getting frustrated.

"Harry, are you feeling well?" Hermione replied, pulling away from her conversation.

"I'm fine!" Harry exclaimed. "I'm tired of you two being so fussy all the time, I'm not going to suddenly explode or anything," he said, angrily slamming down the fork he was using. He got up and stormed out of the Great Hall. He decided to walk around to cool off before it was time to leave, since year before he had been unable to control his anger. He rounded a corner on the second floor and once again found Blaise pinned against the wall by Draco. This time, however, Draco was not scolding the boy; instead he was kissing him violently. Harry noticed that Draco was touching the other boy as little as possible. He had his hands on the wall next to the boy's head and only the lips of the two boys were touching.

"Draco," Blaise said, out of breath.

"What?" Draco growled, pulling away and scowling at the smaller boy.

"If we don't get going we're going to be late," Blaise said, walking back toward their common room.

"Damn it!" Draco exhaled sharply, as he hit the wall.

Harry watched Draco walk down the hall following Blaise. He leaned against the wall and slid to the floor. He wondered about the night before. Apparently Draco was gay and he seemed perfectly okay with it. Did he kiss Harry because he liked him or because he wanted to distract him from what he had seen or had he simply had a fit of insanity? Why had his enemy kissed him? Why was he so obsessed with it?

"Harry," he heard Ron calling from down the hall.

"Over here, Ron," Harry said, standing up and walking over to him.

"I'm sorry," Ron said, walking up to Harry. "She worries about you, you know. It's all this You-Know-Who stuff. You're affected worse than all of us; we just want to make sure you're all right."

"Funny. Since you've started being together you talk for her more and more. Would have thought it would have been the other way around," Harry said, smiling at his friend. "I don't need you two worrying over me all the time. I'm not going to suddenly break down and even if I did, you watching me all the time wouldn't help. You have each other now and you don't need to worry about me so much. You hear that Hermione?" he said as they rounded the corner.

"What's that?" Hermione asked, attempting to look innocent.

"Like I don't know you were eavesdropping. After six years I know you a little better than that," Harry said, sighing. He wished they'd stop watching his every move. The only time they left him alone was when they snuck off to snog. He was getting rather tired of them and was worried that he would explode; at them! But he didn't tell them this; he knew that Dumbledore had told them to watch over him, he wasn't stupid.
