- Because "The Sin We Share" was so well recieved, I decided to do a parrallel to it, using Sirius instead of Peter.
The Sin We Share
Sirius
Look at him James. He's weak, inept and a coward. Do really think Voldemort is going to go after him when he would have some one with talent, strength and courage.
Fat lot of help you are, sitting in the corner muttering to yourself. You're only proving my point. Nobody would suspect you of doing something this bold. Everyone knows you're a coward, that you're useless. Instead of looking so hurt, you could try and help me. But you don't. You sit and mutter about what a jerk I'm being. That's fine with me. Not the first person to call me a jerk, won't be the last.
James, I'm telling you to use him instead!
Why aren't you saying anything? I thought you wanted to help them. You aren't backing down now are you? You've always been a coward. Put aside your fear for just one moment and do what you have to do! This is the biggest thing you will ever do in your life. You're probably the only one here who couldn't possibly be the spy, unlike Remus. Why can't James see it? Are you and I the only ones who see right through that werewolf in wizard's clothing? Yes, he has lost a lot, which is the perfect reason for him to turn. I suppose we all have a reason to turn, if we wanted to. Even I have my reasons, and I don't deny that I've been tempted. You, you'd probably turn from fear. Thankfully, though, you'll be in hiding. And you had better stay there.
The Potters are... gone?
It was you all along! I played right into your plan. You deceived us all. You fooled me so well, playing the part of the inept coward. It should have been me... I've killed my best friend. There is a weight on my shoulders. This burden is more than I can bear.
Oh, God! What have I done? James, I'm sorry!
Crying out for forgiveness in the night won't bring them back! It's time to act; I'll hunt you down to the ends of the earth if I have to.
I trusted you! You betrayed us!
Luckily, I didn't have to go very far. I've found you right in the middle of the city. Good, I want people to witness this. I want there to be no doubt in anyone's mind. I want the world to know that it's your fault! You killed my best friend, my brother! You'll pay for it with your life! And if the truth only damns me further, I welcome it. I can't carry this cross much longer. You're terrified...
James and Lily! How could you!
What did you say! How dare you, monster! I did what I did because I trusted you! People are staring. Time slows down. People are screaming. Screaming silent screams as death falls on them. There's a blinding light, but through it, I see you. You change and drop down the sewer; how dare you use that trick. The smell is nauseating. Bodies are everywhere I look. You've killed innocent people. I couldn't see it coming.
And now, I can't help but laugh. I know where you are! I know you're alive! You may have fooled the world, but not me! And so they come, and I'm still laughing. Somewhere you're sitting, and watching me. I'm not going to struggle, just laugh. They all think it was me. It might as well have been; it's my sin too isn't it? But I won't tell them about you. No, I won't reveal the truth. I'm going to sit in Azkaban for as long as it takes. And when you dare to show your face again, either of them, I'll come after you. One day, by one means or another, I will be redeemed. I won't carry this sin forever. I won't go so willingly to hell.
