I'm really hoping Serena isn't a Mary-Sue. If she is, PLEASE tell me, and I'll try and change it. Akso, this is SLASH, both m/m and POSSIBLY f/f. Please don't flame me because of it. Oh, and it will live up to its rating eventually. If you have any suggestions, please e-mail me at

Matchmaker Malfoy-Chapter 1

"Come on, Serena, we're going to be late!" exclaimed Draco Malfoy, age seventeen, to his cousin.

"Jeez, we have half an hour before the train leaves. Stop rushing!" replied Serena Malfoy, also seventeen and a transfer student form Durmstrang.

"In case you don't remember, I'm Head Boy," said Draco, puffing out his chest proudly.

"Yes, I remember," said Serena, rolling her eyes. "You've only mentioned it once or twice every minute during my stay at your Manor. You're head's going to explode because it's so full of hot air!"

The two teenagers went through the barrier between platforms nine and ten, and platform 9 ¾ appeared in front of them. The scarlet steam engine was already in the station.

"Do we have to sit with Crabbe and Goyle?" Serena asked as they dragged their trunks up to the train.

"Well, if you find a good seat and hide from them, you shouldn't have any problems," said Draco. He had spoken too soon, because right at that moment the two said lug heads began lumbering over. Serena groaned ever so slightly

"Hello, Draco," said Goyle. "You never told us Serena was coming to Hogwarts this year."

"There's a good reason behind that," Serena muttered under her breath. Being the half-deaf nitwits they were Crabbe and Goyle didn't hear her. They boarded the train and found an empty compartment. Ten minutes later, Serena was growing unbearably unomfortable under the stares of Crabbe and Goyle.

"Have to go take a powder. Be back soon," she said. Before any of the three boys could say anything, Serena rushed out of the compartment and into the bathroom. She surveyed herself in the mirror.

Serena had long, auburn hair that she had inherited from her mother, grey eyes from her father and pale skin and a pixie like face that was from both of them. Malfoy women were known for their innocent beauty-not that Malfoy women were innocent. She was short-which is a surprise because everyone in the Malfoy family is quite tall-and slim.

The only reason she was going to Hogwarts is because her old school, Durmstrang had been closed by the Ministry of Magic when their Headmaster, Igor Karkaroff had been arrested for being a Death Eater. The only reason why she had gone to Durmstrang was because her father wanted her to be a good junior Death Eater, just like Draco, Crabbe and Goyle were destined to be. Serena disliked that path and as soon as she graduated was planning on hightailing it out of England, hopefully never seeing her father again.

Serena made her way back to the compartment that she was sharing with the three Slytherin boys when she saw the one person she was raised to hate: Harry Potter. For some reason she couldn't bring herself to hate someone she had never met, unlike her father who could hate someone if his Master commanded it.

Harry looked up when he heard soft footsteps coming his way. He smiled when he saw Serena.

"Hello, I don't think we've met," said Harry, sticking out his hand. "I'm-"

"Harry Potter," supplied Serena, shaking Harry's hand. "My father's told me a lot about you. Most of it is his personal opinion, so I can say I don't agree with most of it yet."

"Really? What does he say about me?" asked Harry. He wasn't conceited about it, just curious.

"I'd be here all day if I told you about the rants he goes on," replied Serena. "Besides, I have to get back to the compartment I'm sharing with my cousin and his friends."

"Who's your cousin?" asked Harry. Before Serena could answer, Draco came out of his compartment.

"I thought I heard you out here, Serena. What took...?" Draco began, but stopped when he saw Harry. "What the hell are you doing, Serena?"

"That would be my cousin. I have a feeling you've already met," said Serena.

"Get back in the compartment, Ser. I don't want Potty polluting your mind with his Muggle-loving ideologies," said Draco.

"Better than your ramblings on Dark Side supremacy," retorted Harry.

Serena noticed something about the two teenagers arguing before her. While their insults were well thought out and biting, there was not heart behind them, as if they were saying it only for show. Serena had been trained to wheedle out spies from loyal followers, so this wasn't hard. Serena mused until Draco called her back.

"C'mon, Serena. Pansy's dying to see you," said Draco with a smirk. Serena shuddered at the thought as she and Draco left Harry in the corridor with his trunk.

The remainder of the trip passed uneventfully for Serena. Pansy didn't want to see her; it was just her excuse to drape herself all over Draco. Serena shuddered at the thought of how horrible their children were would be, if they ever got married. Serena knew of Draco's disgust over Pansy and of her cousin's sexual preference. He definitely did not like girls.

When the train ride was finally over, Serena made her way to a carriage that she ended up sharing with Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy. Draco got to ride in the Head's carriage, the lucky bastard. She ignored the excited talk about getting the Dark Mark at the end of the year. By the time the initiation ceremony rolled around, Serena was hoping to be far, far away.

The carriage shuddered to a halt in the front of the school and all occupants clambered out. Pansy, Crabbe and Goyle went to the Great Hall and Serena went to where Professor McGonagall was standing with the first years.

"Ah, Miss Malfoy, how nice of you to join us," she said. The first years looked at her in awe as the deputy Head gave her usual pre-Sorting pep talk.

"You're not eleven," said one girl with a mousy look to her.

"Nope, I'm a transfer. I'm seventeen," Serena replied. McGonagall was finished with her little speech and she led the firsties and Serena into the Great Hall.

"When I call your name you will sit on the stool and I will place the Sorting Hat on your head. It will then sort you into your House," called out McGonagall. She checked her scroll. "Malfoy, Serena!"

There was a slight buzz of conversation as she made her way through the crowd and sat on the stool. The deputy Head placed the hat on her head and Serena almost jumped when it started talking to her.

"I never thought I'd have to sort another Malfoy. At least, not this soon. You are definitely harder to sort than your cousin was. Of course, I imagine he's changed a fair bit, so he might be hard to sort now. Anyway, you have a good head on your shoulders. You can be hard to get along with, but you're fiercely protective and loyal to your friends. You have big ideas, but not really the right type of ambition to pull it off. Don't worry, my dear, I'll find a spot for you. I think I've come to my decision. You will be..."
