-----------------Forbidden. chapter five, "The first Task"-----------------

Neville got lost in the sensations radiating through his body and all he could do was to instinctively respond to the kiss and the touching Snape was overflowing with. Snape's hand undid Neville's belt and made its way inside his pants and Neville did the same eagerly wanting to get relief for all the anger and pain he'd felt over the weekend.

Then an idea crept into Neville's mind and he didn't have time to analyse whether or not it was a good idea; he was past that point the same second Snape had kissed him. There was not much more than lust left in their actions now.

Neville broke the kiss when they'd freed their bodies from clothes and grabbed Snape's wrist and forced his arm behind his back, making Snape tilt forward over the desk.

"What are you doing?" Snape said confused.

Neville smiled, but didn't notice it.

"I'm getting even," Neville said.

"Argh! Be careful, you twat!" Snape growled, but Neville just kept smiling.

Neville didn't slow his pace, instead he increased it.

"This...is the way angry sex is supposed to be," Neville whispered in Snape's ear.

Snape couldn't keep himself from letting out several muffled grunts of pleasure and neither could Neville. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. Panic!

Neville released his grip on Snape and practically flew towards his clothes and hid most of them. He got his robe on and buttoned it, which he never did normally, so it would look like he was fully dressed and not naked.

Snape caught on and did the same and launched himself into his chair.

"Come in," Snape said and the door was opened in the exact moment as Neville sat down in the opposite chair.

Mad-Eye Moody entered with a smirk on his twisted face and looked at Snape (who actually had colour on his face for once) and sighed and shook his head. Then he looked at Neville and smiled more.

"Yes, Moody?" Snape said shortly and was obviously irritated.

"Snape," Moody said and eyed him. The magic eye looked at him from top to bottom. "Dumbledore asked me to talk to you about the Yuleball arrangements, but I see you are busy! I'll come back later," Moody said and, with a second glance at Neville, left the office, still smiling.

The door shut and Neville and Snape sighed.

"Shit! He knows!" Snape said and slammed his fist in the desk.

"Are you sure?" Neville said and truly wished for it not to be true, but he knew better. Deep inside he knew better.

"Of course he knows, you twat! That eye of his scans the surroundings like a Scuffler searching for a mate, for Merlin's sake!!" Snape said and hit the desk again.

Silence.

Neville didn't know what to do. He went through every possible explanation and situation that he could say Moody must have misinterpreted, but it had all been too obvious to be discarded as something it wasn't.

"Well, you got what you wanted, Longbottom," Snape said without looking at him.

"What?" Neville said.

"You said you wanted to end it. So here it seems like your wish came true."

Neville opened his mouth to say 'I don't want to end it anymore. I was a fool to ever think I wanted to,' but instead he closed his mouth, got up out of the chair and collected his clothes.

"I'm sorry," Neville said as he closed the door behind him, but Snape didn't hear him.

A couple of days later the first trip to Hogsmeade took place and Neville found himself walking around alone. Again.

He'd bought himself some candy and taken a quick Butterbeer at the Three Brooms, but felt even more alone when he'd seen so many people there with their friends laughing at stupid jokes and what they'd done the last time they had been to Hogsmeade.

He left after only twenty minutes and was now wandering around the Shrieking Shack feeling a chill or two run up his spine.

He saw Hermione walking by a little bit down the road, but she didn't look like she'd seen him yet; it looked like she was talking to someone next to her, but Neville couldn't see anyone there.

She's a nice girl, Neville thought, but if she keeps on talking to herself she might end up in St Mungo's.

Like Mum and Dad.

Neville felt that familiar stab in his chest again as he always felt when he thought about his parents, but the feeling didn't stay with him for long.

A sudden wind tugged at his robes and he decided to return to the castle.

He walked by Hagrid and Moody and tried to make himself invisible, but Hagrid spotted him and slapped his back joyfully.

"'Ello, Neville. How's it hangin' ? Where it's supposed te be, I hope," Hagrid said and patted his head making a mess of his hair.

"What" Neville asked, not understanding what Hagrid was talking about.

"It's most likely still hanging in the right place, Hagrid," Moody said.

"Or perhaps Severus Snape could tell us whether or not it is?" Moody said lowly and winked at Neville.

Neville walked on and felt totally embarassed.

I hope to God he doesn't tell anyone, Neville thought.

Once back in the castle, Neville sat alone in the common room, practising some charms that he didn't quite master yet. He rolled his sleeves up to the elbow and waved his wand, sending yellow sparks out of it.

He focused on his Potions book, lying on the table below the windows.

"Accio!" he shouted and knew instantly that the charm had worked....But not in the way he wanted.

The entire table flew at him slowly across the room stopping in front of him.

"Oh fuck! Well at least I'm getting closer to it," he said out loud. Suddenly he heard a pair of hands clapping behind him.

"Great Charm! Can you teach me?" Neville looked at the young boy standing at the foot of the boys dormitory and felt awkward.

"Erh..." Neville said.

He felt very uneasy. This red-haired boy obviously thought that just because Neville was a fourth year he must know more than he did and the fact that Neville didn't master this particular charm made Neville feel stupid.

"Erh... What's you're name?" Neville stalled.

"Maxwell Roberts. I'm only in my second year so we don't get to do those kind of charms yet," Maxwell said and straightened his slightly square glasses.

"Yes, I know. Well I'm not really that good at this one," Neville said and scratched his neck feeling his cheeks going red.

"Can I look in your book?" Maxwell said and Neville showed him his charms book and Maxwell began reading eagerly.

After a few minutes he pulled out his wand, swirled it a little, and then looked like he forgot what to do. He then checked the book again before trying once more.

Neville thought he was very cute in his big glasses and his red hair, and was fascinated by the fact that someone could be so interested in learning magic just for the sake of learning.

"Accio!" Maxwell said. Nothing happened.

"What were you trying to move?" Neville asked.

"That book on that other table," Max said.

"Ok, You have to really imagine the book coming to you, otherwise it won't work," Neville said.

"Show me," Max said.

Neville didn't want to make a fool out of himself, but what choice did he have? He stepped up and aimed with his wand and closed his eyes thinking about the book.

This better work, he thought.

Then as if out of nowhere, he remembered what Harry told him a few weeks back. 'Just concentrate on what you are doing right now and everything will work out.'

"Accio!" Neville shouted and opened his eyes. The book came swirling through the air and directly into his left hand. "I did it. I did it!" Neville exclaimed.

Then he saw what kind of book it was he'd just summoned; an erotic novel with two men on the cover holding hands!

"Whu?" Neville said confused.

"Consider it a gift, Mr Longbottom," Max said and hurried out of the portrait hole with a wicked smile.

Neville was left alone in the common room.

"Strange boy, that is," Neville said and went to bed early that night.

***********************************************

A few days after, the first Task was taking place and Neville couldn't help but feel curious about what the competarors would have to do. The mere thought about being in their place, no matter how much glory he would achieve, made him feel slightly queesy.

He climbed the stairs up to the stands and sat down next to Dennis and Colin Creevey. He saw a huge dragon down on the field and guessed that was the first Task and he felt very worried for Harry's sake.

He looked around for Maxwell Roberts, but couldn't spot him in the crowd.

He caught Snape's eye for a brief moment, but looked away as if he hadn't seen him even though they both knew he had.

A loud whistle sounded and Ludo Bagman entered the field and pranced around like a twat and annonced the first competator; Cedric Diggory. Cedric looked confident and transformed a nearby rock into a really ugly dog and seemed to confuse the dragon. He rushed towards the golden egg and everyone cheered at his trickyness.

The cheers turned into one collective gasp when the dragon suddenly turned and sent a wave of fire at Cedric and clearly burnt him just as he got a hold of the egg. Everyone cheered again when Cedric left the field.

Next up was that Fleur girl from Beauxbaton. She did pretty ok with some enchantment that made the dragon fall asleep, but she got burnt too.

Neville felt edgier and edgier with excitement when he suddenlt felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around.

"Oh, you? What are you..." he began saying.

"Come with me. I've got something to show you, Mr Longbottom,"
