- Hii everyone. Wow, I've been working on this since before the release of HBP and finally got off of my lazy ass to upload this. As of now the rating is R, just because I've never heard the word 'cunt' used in a PG-13 film or fic. It will get more explicit as it progresses; albeit I daresay it's pretty tame at the moment. If you do decide to read this, please give me the courtesy of a review.
The Difference Between What Sparkles and What is Gold
By AADEN.
Chapter One.
The sun was setting over the brilliantly green grass of Hogwarts' grounds; the remaining rays of light were shimmering against the glistening surface of the Giant Squid's Lake. It was a Friday night and dinner had commenced, and after casting a quick breath-mint charm on himself, Roger Davies had escorted Cho Chang up to the Astronomy Tower. This, he thought to himself, a wide grin plastered on his face, was going to be good.
Cho's delicate fingers curled with the curve of Roger's neck. They sat on a loveseat, golden legs with a red leather cushion. Never being one to hesitate when he glimpsed an opportunity, Roger licked his lips slyly in preparation and positioned Cho on the loveseat so that she was lying down as if on a bed, her knees bent. He held himself over her, becoming a bit uncomfortable in both his blazer and collared shirt even in February, even in the heights of the Astronomy Tower.
He gazed into her dark eyes and leaned down to touch his lips to hers in a way that would only leave her writhing with want for more. As he withdrew he felt Cho arch her head up, trying to make the kiss last longer than he wanted it to. Roger smiled to himself. Yes. He was good. He slid off his blazer for comfort. The rest would probably be following it soon, at any rate, so there was no harm done.
Both of Cho's hands ventured up from their previous resting spot at Roger's waist and lingered instead at the base of his neck.
Time to pose the question. Best ask now, while he still had the amazingly good impression that she was incredibly keen on him. She didn't seem as though she'd refuse anything of him now. He liked that sort of girl, they were the easiest sort to scrape all the fruit out of and throw away the peel. They were the easiest to suck completely dry.
Cho smiled up at him, her fingers beginning to play with his black hair. Roger, of course, master of seduction, returned the smile. "Cho," Roger said, his voice a whisper.
"Yes?"
"Would you..." Roger strung out his words like a newly broken elastic necklace. He looked like he was considering the benefits of telling her everything, anything.
Cho giggled. "What is it, Roger?"
Roger planted kisses along her collarbone and up her neck and asked, in between delicately placed kisses, "Would you like to go out with me? We could even go to that café you like for Valentine's, it would be perfect..." His skin ran cold as he noticed the rigidity of hers with his next kiss.
He raised himself and regarded her with a concerned expression on his handsome face. Cho looked genuinely troubled.
"Cho, princess, what's wrong?" Roger brushed a stray hair out of Cho's tear-lined eyes, masking his worry.
"I can't," she breathed. "I can't. I can't." Each string of words became more and more hurried, more confused, more desperate. "I can't."
Roger traced his fingers along her cheeks. Don't break eye contact. "Why?"
"Well, I kind of like someone else, and I'm still upset about Cedric and I'm not ready for a relationship and this is all moving so quickly"--Roger interrupted her by kissing her swiftly upon the lips.
"I can help you through things," he offered. "If you ever need to talk, you know you can come to me."
"You're not..." Cho searched for the correct way to phrase things. The last thing she wanted was to hurt Roger's feelings, but things had gone on long enough without her being completely honest. "You're not exactly the type that strikes me as liking to talk, Roger."
Roger appeared affronted, though not angry. "What gives you that impression?"
Cho glanced at her skirt, which was hitched most of the way up her waist, and met Roger's eyes.
He looked away.
"Look, Roger..." Cho frowned at herself. Great going, she told herself. Great fucking going.
Roger shifted himself off of Cho rose to his feet, brushing his shirt as wrinkle-free as he could manage. He counted to five in his head at an excruciatingly tedious pace, waiting for her to ask him not to leave. When all that met his ears was silence of various sorts, he looked up from the stone of the tower's floor to Cho.
"I'll be seeing you later then, I guess," he said, flashing her a toothy grin and sliding his hands into the pockets of his trousers. "Good luck with everything."
And Roger Davies sauntered out of the portion of the Astronomy Tower most renowned for its romantic atmosphere, leaving Cho Chang with goosebumps on her legs and tears on her cheeks.
