From the moment that we met
I knew that we would connect
Your eyes had told me that somehow we shared a history

He dragged his feet up the dormitory stairs. His hand fumbled for the handle as he opened the door and stepped inside. Silence. He hadn't expected anyone to be there anyway, they would all be in lessons where he should be. But he couldn't. Not today, he needed to be alone, somewhere to think, to remember. He stumbled to his four-poster bed, and nearly ripped the hangings as he tugged them roughly around.

Feeling fearless I took a chance
Couldn't let the moment pass
I felt that fate had played a hand-

She threw her cutlery down with a clatter, causing a few of her fellow housemates to look up. They didn't look too surprised; she'd done the same for the last three days. Slinging her bag over her shoulder, she walked briskly out of the great-hall and darted into a disused classroom. She couldn't stand being so close to him, and yet feel so far away. A noise from behind pulled her out of thought, and she whirled around, wand in hand. She gasped and the sound of wood hitting stone resounded around the room...

And brought you here to me

...He was leaning casually against the doorframe, his bright eyes gazing straight at her, a smile playing across his lips. She returned his gaze and in one swift movement he was in front of her, lifting her face to his...

But happiness can be short-lived
And pain can bring you to your knees

He awoke with a start, and the blissfulness inside seeped away, replaced by nothing but a dull ache. It was just a recollection. A memory. Past. Head in hands, he felt the tears streak down his cheeks.
~*~
Don't think
That I'll get over you
Don't know
If I can make it through
My darkest days, with out you in my life

She awoke with a start, her mind quickly coming back to the present. She'd hurt him, and now he didn't care. She was hurting now, burning inside. The tears fell, soaking her pillow.
~*~
And don't think
That I can face the pain
I'll never see your face again
I close my eyes and wonder when, will it ever end?
~*~
He tried to wipe away the tears, but they were like acid to his fingers. He couldn't get over her, wherever he went he was thinking of her. Memories would flash by in his mind; he would see her at dinner, in the common room. His dreams...He reflected back on the day his world came crashing down all over again.

Got as close as we could be
Felt that you could see through me
You read my mind you knew my life

He met her at the astronomy tower as usual. She stood with her back to him, as usual. She turned, looking beautiful as ever, except there was sadness in her eyes. She looked so delicate...

Became a part of me
Took for granted precious times
Thought we had it on our side

...He stepped towards her and took her hand in his. She looked at him but couldn't hold his look. This was the hardest thing she'd ever done, next to having watched loved ones destroyed by The Dark Lord. She took his hand from hers and pushed it gently to his chest. She looked into his eyes and shook her head. As she walked away, she took one last look over her shoulder. He stood, fists clenched, staring at the floor. The spark was gone from his eyes, and instead gleamed with new and old unshed tears. She walked on.

By some twist of fate
I had to watch you fade away

She tore herself away from her memories. Rising away from her bed, she swept the hangings away and stood before a window. Resting her head on a pane, the cool glass calmed her, allowing her to collect herself enough to go to lunch, and perhaps afternoon lessons.

Don't think
That I'll get over you
Don't know
If I can make it through
My darkest days, without you in my life

A distant noise from the grounds snapped him out of another painful memory. It was just another to add to the collection Voldemort had left behind. He heaved himself up, brushing away the hangings and looked in a mirror. He was a mess. He attempted to flatten his hair, before heading to the door.

And don't think
That I can face the pain
I'll never see your face again
I close my eyes and wonder when...

Stumbling down the stairs, the common room just came into view. It was empty. A noise opposite to her caused her to look up sharply-
~*~
...Will it ever end?
~*~
He tripped down the steps, noticing the common room was empty. The rustle of a cloak drew his attention to the opposite staircase-
~*~
Will it ever end?
~*~
"-Ginny?"
"-Harry!"
~*~
Yes
***End***
Author notes: Please review. I hope you enjoyed it, it is my first fic. Although it is plain in places I am very proud of it, and bear in mind I'm a teenage girl, so please be gentle.
