Isn't It Obvious - By Lillian Song Fic - Obvious By: Christina Aguilera
It was late at night and the common room was mostly deserted. The only occupant was Hermione Granger. She was doing her homework, but she was having trouble concentrating. A certain someone kept slipping into her mind.
Why can't I just tell him, she thought angrily, I've faced far worse things then telling a guy what I feel! But Hermione knew deep down inside that it was different with this guy. Suddenly her thoughts were broken by a voice from behind her.
"Hey, Hermione."
It was him.
"H-h-hey," she stuttered.
He walked over and sat across the table from her.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Huh," she had completely forgotten her homework, "O-oh, I was just doing my, er, doing my charms homework," she said quickly. She knew she sounded ridiculous, but she couldn't help it. When did a guy ever make her this tongue-tied?
"That looks like your potions homework to me," he said looking at her paper.
Hermione looked at her paper as well. At the top of the paper it said Aging Potions. Hermione was glad it was dark so that he couldn't see her cheeks turn bright red.
"S-so it is, isn't it?" she said nervously. He looked at her confused, but let it go. Didn't he see it?
Can you hear it in my voice
Was it something I let slip
Does the whole world know
Isn't it obvious?
I'm the one who's in control
Now I'm acting like a fool
Do my feelings show
Is my face aglow
Isn't it obvious?
"I came down to finish my potions essay as well. Will you help me?" he asked.
"I guess I could help," she tried to sound nonchalant.
"Thanks"
Hermione got up and went to walk to the other side of the table. As she walked over he flashed her one of his heart melting smiles. She felt he knees go weak, then suddenly she fell none to gracefully, because her knees gave way.
That I don't know what I'm doing anymore
I'm feeling like a little girl
Caught up in emotions
I'm out of control
Isn't it obvious?
Hermione fell right on top of him. Fortunately he caught her.
"Are you alright?" his voice was full of concern and worry.
Hermione was just staring at him. He looked so handsome when he was concerned. She could have stared at his face all night. Hermione was so caught up in his face that she didn't even realize he had spoken.
"Hermione?"
"Oh, yes, I'm fine, just fine," she blushed again. She felt silly. He must think she was strange for just staring at him.
Hermione stood up off his lap and sat down next to him. They started on his homework. He was so close to her that she could smell his sweet unique scent. Every so often Hermione would glance up and look at him. He never noticed of course.
She tried her hardest to concentrate on helping him with his homework, but a small debate was going on in her head. Should she tell him what she felt? But what if he didn't fell the same way. These thoughts kept going back and forth in her head until he brought her back to earth.
"Hermione!" he spoke sharply trying to get her attention.
"What?" Hermione asked. She had jumped nearly a foot in the air he had startled her so badly.
"I asked you a question!" he said.
"Er, could you please repeat the question?" she asked innocently.
"I asked you what the third ingredient was for an aging potion." He stated very clearly to make sure she heard.
Hermione quickly racked her brain.
"Docinmery" she replied.
They were quiet for a moment. Then he spoke up.
"Er, Hermione, how do you spell Docinmery?" he asked shyly. He was so cute when he was shy.
Hermione reached her hand up to take his quill. While she took it out off his hand their fingers brushed against each other. At the same instant their legs touched under the table. Hermione's hand began to tremble. As she spelled out Docinmery on the parchment blotches off ink flew everywhere.
"Hermione, are you alright?" He asked looking at her hand.
"I'm fine," she replied not looking at him.
Do you see my hands, they tremble
Wonder why I can't look you in the eyes
Don't know how long
I can keep this inside
Isn't it obvious?
"Hermione, I'm not as dumb as I look. I can tell when something is up. What is with you lately?"

"I-I..." she began, but found that she didn't know quite what to say.
"You can tell me, Hermione. Are you sick?" he asked. His voice was full of concern again.
Hermione got mad at these words. Didn't he see it at all?
"Come on, Hermione, you can tell little old me," he put his arm around her shoulder. His touch was soft and gentle. It felt so right. In any other situation Hermione would have stayed in his arms forever, but she didn't know what had gotten into her. She pulled away from him.
"Isn't it obvious?" she nearly yelled in his face.
He blinked at her totally confused.
"Hermione, if your sick or something you can tell me."
Hermione threw her hands up in the air in exasperation.
Suddenly these emotions are in control of my heart
Can you see it in my eyes
Every glance, every smile must give me away
And I feel so much I can't hide
"I'm in love with you Ron Weasley," she screamed in his face. Then suddenly covered her mouth and turned a deep crimson. She couldn't believe she had just blurted that out. Hermione turned to leave without letting Ron answer.
"Hermione, wait," he called after her. Hermione had tried to make a quick dash for the girl's dormitories, but Ron was faster. He grabbed her arm and wouldn't let go when she tried to pull away.
"Hermione, wait," he said again.
"What?" she snapped. She couldn't look at him it was too painful. She could already feel the tears in her eyes.
Ron put his hand under her chin and forced her took look at him. She obliged unwillingly. He was staring deep into her eyes.
"I love you, too"
"You, wha..." Hermione began, but was cut off by Ron's mouth coming down on hers. She immediately melted into the kiss.
