The Past,the Present and the Future

On a cold winter's night in January, a man with black, messy hair was sitting in front of the fireplace thinking about his life so far, how it got to be what he always wished for: Three friends that would die for him, especially one that he considered closer than a brother! A certain redhead whom he was going to marry in less than twenty four hours who happened to be the love of his life, and of course being the best auror!

His mind wandered back ten years when it all started to happen.

He had just said goodbye to his parents and got on The Hogwarts Express. He went to find a compartment, hoping he could find someone to befriend soon, when he ran into a black-haired boy, who seized him and kept running then with one move he pushed him into a compartment and sealed it with a spell.

"Sorry about that," the boy who seized and pushed him like a potato bag had said flashing this huge grin.

"What the hell was that?" James exclaimed. "Are you crazy?"

"Well last I checked, no," said the boy "And you should thank me, I just saved you from three maniacs."

"Uhm, excuse me, but who are you?" interrupted a boy who they hadn't noticed.

"Hi, I'm James Potter, and..."

"Sirus Black, enchanted to meet you," interrupted the boy who had just dragged James.

"Remus Lupin," said the other boy raising his hand.

"Peter Pettigrew," jumped another boy.

So that's how James met his three best friends (although he didn't know that at the time).

"Hey, what are you doing here?" the twenty-one year old Sirus said causing James to jump back to reality.

"Huh? Oh, nothing. Just reminiscing, I guess."

"Ah Jamsie, Jamsie, miss being a mischief making, carefree, naughty boy, don't you?"

"Well don't worry you still have the whole night to take advantage of! Plus you could always run away from Lily and come over, or you could run away tomorrow, although you've been talking about her for the last nine years."

"Sirus, I will never leave Lily and I'm not having cold feet, I'm just remembering the different stages of my life including Lily."

"I know, Prongs," said Sirus rubbing James messy hair "I know."

Then they both headed back to the party, where James' eyes darted around until they stopped on a certain redhead; Lily. James just stood there staring at her. He had known that she was the love of his life from the first moment he saw her, he chuckled to himself as he remembered how it took her 4 years to accept that he was a human being, and then to love him.

"Hello honey, where have you been?" asked Lily.

"Apparently he was just remembering the good old days," answered Sirus at once.

"Well that's interesting," replied Remus entering the room.

"Oh, you came!" said Lily. "Good. Now why don't you boys throw James that bachelor party; the girls are dragging me off somewhere, so I'll be out of your way. And, Sirius, no stripper," she added as an afterthought.

"Haha, funny. Like I'd do that!" said Sirius. "Lily, James didn't fancy other girls when he was in school. How about the night before his wedding!"

"Bye sweety, see you tomorrow," said James before kissing her.

"Alright, have fun!"
