I waited impatiently for September first to arrive. When it finally came, I was ready to go before I needed to. I was silent during the short ride to Kings Cross Station, thinking about both my new school and the boy from Diagon Alley. I said a quick farewell to my parents, and hurried my trunk into the station. By I found the gateway, it was five till eleven. Gasping in shock, I ran in to the gateway just after a young red-headed girl. I noticed the group of Weasleys and skirted them. It wasn't that I was prejudiced, but I had been taught to think that way.
Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, two boys I knew from before, met up with me and started following me around. I suspected it was on their father's orders. We found a nice compartment together, and would be later joined by Pansy Parkinson. I think my father wanted me to marry her some day. I told Crabbe and Goyle to leave me for a while, as the large boys had no idea of how to converse normally. I looked out the window as the train pulled away. I saw a young girl, probably around nine or ten, also a Weasley, laughing and crying as she waved to her brothers. Then I saw the Light, the Light of, what I would eventually realize, was love. Maybe it was not so much a Light of Love, as a spark of pure good in my heart.
Then the rumors came. People were saying that Harry Potter was on the train. Interested, I led Crabbe and Goyle, my bodyguards, to find this boy. It sounds odd, but people were always picking on me. Harry Potter turned out to be the boy from Diagon Alley, meeting him again was a disaster. After the Sorting, I left Potter pretty much alone, except for taunting him. It didn't seem fair to me that everyone liked him. He had so many friends, and I had no real ones. It sounds selfish, but it seamed true. No wanted to be friends with the Malfoy heir. I constantly was taunting Potter about his not having a proper family, because, however it seamed, I had no true family. My father had always been distant, and my family was surreal. We played our parts, the successful happy father, loving devoted wife and mother, and happy, young, devoted son. It was a charade. I happily excelled in Potions, and not just because I was one of Professor Snape's favorites.
I worked hard on my studies, always working to stay on top of my homework. My mother was always sending care packages, which I gladly shared with the other boys in my dorm. I secretly practiced more advanced spells in private, everyone unaware. I didn't know what use this would be, but I knew it was worth something. I always liked flying lessons, where my talent was appreciated. I was glad to go home during the Christmas Holidays, to spend time with my mother. I zoomed around the grounds on my broom, and enjoyed the time at my house like any child should. The year finished quickly after that, fairly uneventful, with an emphasis on Potter at the end of the year. I gladly returned home, and spent an enjoyable summer with my mother, father and several cousins. I studied a lot over the summer, and both dreaded and anticipated the school year. The only incident that summer was when we went to get my school things, and we had a run in with Potter and the Weasels. That wasn't that bad, either, as I got to see the younger girl with whom I had fallen in love. Yes, that's right, the beautiful Ginny Weasley.
Like it? Hate it? Review! The ending is odd, but I hope you liked it. The more reviews I get, the sooner I update. Flames are used to keep my warm, so feel free.
