This will not be following the books. I'll try to update soon. Hope you enjoy Draco's antics!

Mother had always loved me; my father was too busy to spend time with me. I always thought that was how it was for the other children, all the children I knew fathers had no time for. My mother always took care of me, it was natural. I got what I wanted, and even if some other kid wanted it, I got it instead. I always had a nice home, nice clothes, even a House Elf. I didn't have friends, I knew the kids of Pure-Blood families, and my cousins. I did not know what I was missing.
When I was seven, my mother put me in a school for young wizards, kind of like a day-care. All of the children laughed at me and it hurt. My mother did not make me go back, but that day still haunts me.

Then I got my letter from Hogwarts. My mother threw me a huge party, even though I had been on the list since I was born. The whole thing was rather grandiose, but I was happy. The day we went to Diagon Alley I was thrilled. I had seen more elegant things before, but this place had a sort of charm.
My father went to buy me a broom for a present, though I couldn't take it. My mother told me to get my robes while she got the books. I shrugged and went into Madame Malkins. I was polite, as always. The assistant was pinning my robes when a boy came in.
"Hello," I said to the strange boy. He was skinny, and had a mop of black hair. His eyes were emerald green. I asked the boy normal questions.

What is your name? What house do you think you will be in? What is your favorite Quidditch team?

Things like that. I was really trying to be nice. My mother taught me that. All the people I had known asked these things. The boy acted like he didn't know a thing I was talking about. We had been chatting for a few minutes when I was startled by a huge face in the window. When the boy, Harry, told me who the man was I told him what my father had told me. Harry disagreed with what I had said. I suppose he thought I was arrogant, but Father had drilled it into me that a Malfoy must seem distant. Father said not to give any sign of weakness, and I believed him. Harry ran out, relieved, when he was done. I sighed; I had just wanted to be friends. When my robes were ready I bowed politely to Madame Malkins and her assistant and left.

"Draco! You're done? Good. Let's go get you an owl." I smiled at mother. It was just like her to remember that. I picked out a beautiful Eagle Owl, named Merlin. I thought it was a fitting name for such a magnificent owl. My mother took me to get ice-cream while we waited for my father. Then we got the rest of my school things, and we left Diagon Ally.

Little did I know that soon I would see my first glimpse of the Light.
