Chapter 01
05/11/2006Where Mrs Black, Regulus, a Quidditch game and a ghoul all help Sirius and James to discover how much they share, and where "Mischief managed" is heard for the very first time.
James and Sirius are introduced to a greasy monkey; there is a fight in a corridor, involving the said monkey, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius and James, but it was the trunk’s entire fault; and a strange boy is all alone in the very last compartment of the train.
There’s just one more monster at Hogwarts this year; the Sorting Hat is threatened with being set in fire and silenced for good; we have a first glimpse of a certain redhead; and Remus decides he can’t afford friends.
James and Sirius are working on shattering the image of perfect students they acquired (much against their will); Peter sees spiders on the ceiling; Lily Evans is dancing in the air; and Remus is just… Remus.
The four friends kick the – ahem – most noble part of the Slytherins’ anatomy; James is complimented on his aim by a very unexpected person; calm and quiet Remus has two outbursts in the same day; and there are many letters exchanged during the holidays.
A condor crosses the Atlantic Ocean; James receives two presents; Sirius wonders how one person can attract so much trouble; and Remus gazes at the moon.
James and Sirius spend extra time in the library; James fights with a tree; Remus isn’t a monster; Peter has run out socks; and Dumbledore shouldn’t use woolly metaphors to convince Professor McGonagall.
Remus spends the night in the cellar; James is tortured every day between 3 and 4.30; Mrs. Potter talks through a mirror; and Sirius is glued to his brother.
Where James explains what he discovered over the summer, and where the others are, let's say... doubtful.
James makes a particularly nasty encounter on the platform; Lily Evans is stuck in the bathroom; nobody ever bother to ask Peter; and on the whole, it's a rather disastrous beginning for a second year at Hogwarts.
