Story Summary:

In the mid-2040s, the Dark War is largely forgotten. The crimes of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters now occupy only a chapter in a History of Magic textbook. The great grandchildren of Harry Potter’s generation are now students at Hogwarts. Caligula Nigellus is friends with many of these students. He is a seventh year Slytherin and a direct descendant of Phileas Nigellus. Cal discovers an old war fugitive living in a run-down section of Hogsmeade. Rather than turn him over to the Aurors, Cal blackmails the ex-Death Eater to tell him “what it felt like” during the war in exchange for Cal’s silence. The two enter into a bizarre relationship of mixed hate and forced friendship culminating when Cal helps the old man cover up a vicious murder
