A few days after Michael's intoxicated yet sincere proposal, preparations were well underway for the wedding. Not only had they already decided to have it in their garden, they had also decided to have it in just two weeks. Invitations had been sent out and the replies were still coming in. Today, someone was coming from Madam Malkin's to fit them both for wedding robes. Ginny had been over almost constantly ever since she received the news, going over every detail of the wedding with Sirius and Michael. Today she had managed to find a catalogue full of wedding cakes and was thumbing through it with her son.

"That's a nice one, look at those vanilla rosettes. Oh, I'm sorry dear, I forgot you don't like vanilla ...this one looks good ..."

"I'm sure they're delicious, mum. The thing is, I was actually hoping that ...well, you might be able to make the cake. I've always loved your baking," said Sirius sheepishly, his cheeks turning a light shade of red. Ginny smiled as she kissed him on the forehead.

"Of course I can make the cake myself, sweetheart. However, I'll still need some idea of what I'm making," she said as she returned eagerly to the catalogue. They were looking at a rather extravagant coconut cake when the fitter from Madam Malkin's stepped out of the fireplace. It was none other than Lily, who received a happy and surprised welcome from her brother. While they were hugging, Michael stepped into the room from the garden and froze when he saw whom their visitor was. Lily's reaction was somewhat similar. The last time they had spoken, they were in fact hollering at each other. To them, the tension was unbearable. Ginny and Sirius, on the other hand, were having trouble keeping straight faces.

"Hello Lily," muttered Michael awkwardly.

"Hello," replied Lily curtly. She slowly placed her large sewing bag on the sofa. Michael shuffled further into the room. Sirius had to pretend to be scratching his nose to try and hide his smile.

"Um, listen ...I'm sorry I shouted at you. I was just ...angry," said Michael slowly, as if picking his words very carefully.

"Well, it was wrong of me to say what I did. Like you said, that article wasn't your fault," admitted Lily.

"Even so ..."

"You obviously care for Sirius ..."

"So do you ..."

"What I mean to say is ..."

"Oh will you two just shake hands already?" exclaimed Ginny, still containing her laughter. "You take any longer and you'll be fitting christening robes for the baby." Having made up with her future brother in law, Lily proceeded to take the measurements for the wedding robes she was going to have to make. Several tape measures flew out of her open bag as she ushered Michael up onto a stool. The tape measures began running themselves down Michael's sides, around his hips and his inside leg. Lily then wrote everything down on a sheaf of parchment. Motioning the tapes aside for a moment, she withdrew a variety of different coloured fabrics. With a flick of her wand, the first one wrapped itself around Michael like a toga.

"What do we think of this?" she asked the room in general. Sirius and Ginny looked up.

"It's a floor lamp," stated Ginny jokingly.

"I mean the colour!" laughed Lily. Sirius cocked his head and grimaced slightly.

"I don't know ...I've always associated dark green with Slytherin."

"Then it goes," declared Lily. With a flick of her wand, the material flew away from Michael, folded itself up and returned to the bag. A dark red cloth flew up from the pile and landed on Michael, shifting itself around him so that it resembled clothing.

"How about this then? Very Gryffindor," offered Lily. Sirius still seemed unsure. Michael thought it looked okay, but Sirius was going to be wearing the same colour so he wanted to make sure he was happy with what they chose. Finally, Sirius shook his head apologetically. "No problem, no problem. We'll make you look fabulous yet, daahhling!" exclaimed Lily, making everyone laugh. They tried several more colours before finding the perfect one. Sirius' eyes lit up when a sheet of navy blue material encircled Michael. He was instantly reminded of Michael's Quidditch robes and how much he loved how they looked on him.

"Oh yes!" he exclaimed a little louder than he had intended. "It's perfect! Oh Mike, you look wonderful!"

"If you've finished gushing, maybe I can take the measurements for your own robes?" enquired Lily.

"Oh yes, of course." Ginny helped her son up so that the tape measures could do their stuff. While Sirius was being measured, Michael made tea for everyone.

"So, what name are you taking?" enquired Ginny as a tape measure shot up Sirius' leg.

"We're going to take each others, as such ...so it'll be Potter-Wood. You don't think dad will mind, do you?"

"Oh, of course not sweetheart. Your father is just as happy as I am, he's just a little more subtle about it."

"Have you given any thought to a gift list?" asked Lily after she had finished writing all her brother's details down.

"Yes, we have," said Michael as he returned from the kitchen and handed a cup to Ginny. He picked up a leaf of parchment and passed it over to Lily, who looked over it carefully.

"They're all things for the baby."

"Well, yes. We decided that there was nothing we needed for ourselves so we thought we'd ask for baby stuff," explained Sirius.

"Forget about what you need," scoffed Lily. "What do you guys want? A new cauldron? Some new Quidditch stuff?"

"Lily," said Michael as he sat down on the armrest next to Sirius and put his arm around him. "I've got all I've ever wanted right here." Sirius could feel himself blush again as he leant upwards to kiss Michael tenderly. He wished he could be as outspoken as Michael, especially when it came to their love. Still, Michael had confidence enough for both of them.

"How about a toaster?" asked Lily. Sirius threw a cushion at her.

Two weeks flew by faster than a Firebolt going over the speed limit. The morning of the wedding, Sirius was woken by a pair of lips softly caressing his own. He returned the kiss, not knowing if he was dreaming or not. He opened his eyes to find Michael's face inches from his own, smiling as if he would be smiling forever.

"Morning," he whispered.

"Yes, it is," said Sirius drowsily. "It's the morning." Michael ran his hand through Sirius' thick hair.

"Nervous?" he asked quietly.

"Well ...a little. Not that I'm having second thoughts or anything ...it's just that there's going to be a lot of people here. The last thing I want to do is screw up what I'm supposed to say in front of everyone." While he had been speaking, Michael's hand had made its way down until it rested comfortably on Sirius' stomach.

"We went over the ceremony yesterday with Miss Lovegood, you'll be fine." He lowered himself to kiss Sirius' rounded belly then spoke to their child. "Just to be safe, you give him a little kick when he's supposed to say 'I do'." After sharing another kiss, Michael left the room to begin the necessary preparations. Looking at the door as it closed after him, Sirius saw the wedding robes that Lily had made for them. Michael had taken his of the hanger and placed it on his side of the double bed. Sirius heaved himself out of bed. After all, this was his wedding too and he was determined to help out in any way he could.

Ginny and Harry were the first to arrive. Ginny launched herself into assisting Michael. She managed to coax Harry into helping as well, but soon told him to go sit down when he kept doing things wrong. Lily arrived soon after with a rather disgruntled Arthur. He had been chosen as the ring bearer and consequently had to wear his best robes. This he could stand, it was all the fussing his mother did over his hair that bothered him. His grandmother started on him as well, as the Floo powder had just messed up his hair again. He expressed his reluctance to ever get married himself if you had to get all dressed up, much to the amusement of the adults. Oliver arrived through the fireplace, accompanied by Minsky. Ron and Hermione were next, followed closely by Neville, Hagrid and Lupin, all of whom had come down from the school. Agatha arrived from St. Mungo's. Donald, Sandra and their four-year-old daughter, Miranda had come by car, as Sandra was expecting their second child. Suddenly Sirius didn't feel so out of place. Many of Sirius and Michael's old school friends and Michael's teammates showed up, they had changed so much in just a few years. Sirius never told Michael, but ever since they started preparing for the wedding, he had had the terrible feeling that Scott would somehow find out and turn up just to cause trouble. Luckily this did not happen.

As the morning ticked on, Sirius barely realised that his mother had helped him into his navy blue wedding robe and all the guests were sitting outside, waiting. He started as if he had just woken from an uneasy dream. He found himself in the living room, standing next to his dad, getting ready to walk out to the garden.

"Aren't we missing someone?" asked Harry suddenly. Looking around the room and peering out the open door to the garden, Sirius knew who it was.

"Who's going to do the service?" he exclaimed, getting very panicky very quickly.

"I thought that ..." started Harry. The roar of the fireplace interrupted him, as an old friend stepped out.

"Hello, Harry. Long time no see," said Luna dreamily, apparently completely oblivious of the fact she was late.

"We'll have plenty of time to catch up later, Luna," grumbled Harry as he ushered her out the door. "Right now we've got a wedding to do."

"Okay, but I don't see what the rush is," sighed Luna as she trotted up to her place in front of the crowd. Since leaving Hogwarts, Luna Lovegood had become a kind of 'Jane of all trades'. One of her many accomplishments included the authority to perform magical weddings. Now that she had finally arrived, Professor Flitwick began playing the wedding march on an organ that had been set up in the garden. Michael and Oliver were to march up the aisle first, as father and son. Patrick, the Puddlemere Untied Seeker, as the best man, had to walk just behind them. Harry and Sirius had to then follow after him. It was the responsibility of the fathers to give their sons away in a wedding of this nature. Sirius felt his dad take his arm gently. He looked up at the man who had once passionately opposed his relationship with Michael. Now he seemed understanding, supportive, but most of all, happy.

"Ready?" Sirius took a deep breath, one that seemed to take forever. An impatient kick from within brought him back to his senses.

"Yes ...let's go." With that, he stepped out into the bright sunshine, arm in arm with his father.

Author notes: Now I hear you saying 'How can he end this chapter just before they're about to get married! The suspense! The suspense!'

Don't worry, the next chapter is ready and on it's way, though I'm unsure of how soon. Ain't I a stinker?
