Chapter 5
"Hermione?" Harry was puzzled, and hurt. Hermione pushed herself away from Draco and stared at Harry.
"Harry," Hermione began but Harry had already turned his back and left the library. 'How could I do this to him?' she asked herself.
"Now where were we?" Draco leaned in, but Hermione rejected him. He had never been rejected by anyone in his entire life. 'There's always a first' he thought.
"Draco, I don't know what has gotten into you but you're different. But right now I need to find Harry."
"Potter?" Draco looked disgusted. "What does Potty have that I don't?" He smirked.
"Everything." Hermione bolted out of the library, searching for the boy she loves.
~
Harry couldn't believe it. Hermione was kissing Draco Malfoy. He had seen it with his very own eyes. If it would have been any other guy, it wouldn't have hurt as much as it did, but it had to be Draco, his enemy. The person that he hates with every fiber in his entire body was kissing the person that he has cared for since the second she casually walked into his cabin. No unforgivable curse could hurt as much as this does. His heart had been ripped out and shredded into a thousand pieces, by Hermione.
He wandered into the abandoned girl's bathroom. Thankfully, Myrtle was no where to been seen. He was glad. He didn't want to deal with her right now. The images of Hermione snogging Draco played through his mind like a movie. He could rewind and fast forward and pause, but the images never disappeared. He wished instead of Hermione and Draco, he was watching the first time that he had kissed her. His only kiss.
Hermione had finally found him. He was just where she expected him to be, alone, in the abandoned girl's bathroom.
"Harry?" He didn't look up. Hermione could see he was crying. His cheeks were red and his face was damp. "I really need to explain." She sat down next to him and put her hand on his shoulder. Her touch made him shudder. "Draco came onto me in the library. There's something different about him, Harry. Something drew me to him at that moment, something I can't explain." Harry had finally looked up. His eyes were red and tears streamed down his cheeks like a never-ending waterfall.
"Explain to me why I found you two making out in the library, a day after.." He stopped. He couldn't bring himself to say it. It was true, but his heart couldn't take another blow. "A day after we kissed and I fell in love with you." He wiped his eyes. His heart was vulnerable. She could squash it at any moment. She grabbed Harry's hand, and placed it onto her chest.
"Do you feel that?" Harry could feel Hermione's heart beat. "You are the only boy that makes my heart beat faster and slower at the same time." Tears fell down her cheek, yet she managed a smile. " I have loved you since the moment I saw you. I would never want to hurt you, but I know I've hurt you in the worst way possible. It was the biggest mistake kissing Draco." She swept a few strands from Harry's face. "I love you Harry."
"I love you, Hermione." Harry leaned in, and kissed Hermione for the second time.
~
"Bloody hell! You're gone for twenty minutes and Draco kissed Hermione, Harry caught them, and now you're both going out. Where was I?"
"Probably, Ron, stuffing your mouth with food as you usually do." Hermione laughed.
"I feel so alone. You two are dating, Malfoy and Pug-Face are, even my sister has a boyfriend!" They all looked over to a corner of the common room where Ginny and Neville were cuddling. "I have no one."
"Well," Harry smiled, "there's always Myrtle." Ron took a pillow from the sofa and threw it at Harry.
"I don't find that amusing."
~
Draco wandered back to the Slytherin common room. 'How could I let her go like that?' he thought. When he entered the common room, Pansy was sitting on the sofa, waiting for him.
"Where have you been?" She jumped up and stood only a few inches from him. "I've been worried sick! I would die if something happened to you. What's wrong, sweet pie?" Draco had finally had enough of her.
"Will you just stop that?" He face looked tired and saddened. "We're through, Pansy."
"No we're not, Draco Malfoy." Pansy grabbed onto his leg as he was walking. "You need me!"
"Let go of me, bitch!" Pansy's was so shocked that she didn't realize that she had let go of Draco's leg, as he walked away from her and left her frozen still on the common room floor.

That morning Harry and Hermione trailed into the Great Hall, hand in had. They took a seat in the middle of the table, across from Ron. Soon enough, owls poured in through the windows as rays of sunlight. A beautiful, white owl landed in front of Hermione with a letter attached to its leg. Hermione took the letter and the owl flew off.
"Who's that from?" Ron stared at the parchment.
"I don't know." Hermione looked at it and opened it. It read:
Hermione,
Meet me in the Dark Arts classroom after dinner. Potty and Weasel can come, if they must.
Draco
"No way!" Ron said. " I don't want to go anywhere with that git. Don't make me go."
Hermione glanced over at the Slytherin table. Draco wasn't there. "I'm afraid we must."
~
A large, black owl landed in front of Pansy. She took the scroll from the owl. She knew whom it was from. She unrolled the parchment and read it's contents. She knew exactly what to do and how to do it. The board is in place, the pieces are moving. Checkmate.
Author notes: Oh no! What's going to happen? Hermione has to see Viktor in the Three Broomsticks that day, then see Draco at night. Drama...don't ya love it?
