My All

Sweet Sorrow1

Story Summary:
I’d give my all to have just one more night with you. I’d risk my life to feel your body next to mine. ‘Cause I can’t go on living in the memory of our song. I’d give my all for your love tonight. Draco/Hermione.

Chapter Three: Draco's Dream

-----

Draco looked around and sighed. All around was black. Pitch black. He looked down at his apparel and found himself wearing his Hogwarts' uniform and an extremely fine cloak. Draco's heart twitched. It was the cloak Hermione had given him for his birthday last year.

He walked around and found himself walking on cold, black granite. Because of this, his shoes created soft clicks as he walked. Draco walked a bit faster and turned left and right, but everywhere he went was utter darkness. Blond wisps of hair fell on his face and his frustration grew.

'Where am I?'

Draco stopped suddenly. He thought he saw a flash of white, but wasn't sure. He squinted his eyes and staggered back a bit. It was Hermione and she was dancing around with a loose white summer dress, smooth hair bouncing. Draco remembered. Hermione had danced like this a couple of months after they had gotten together. What a happy day that was.

She continued to dance and with each step, closer to Draco. At last, Hermione was right in front of him. She smiled lovingly and wrapped her arms around his neck. Draco's heartbeat quickened and tears formed around his eyes.

"Hey Drac," she said, ignoring the tears as if they weren't there. She leaned up and kissed his lips, softly.

Draco pushed her gently away and a playful expression dawned on Hermione's lovely face. She pushed him back. Draco shook his head slightly and his heart twitched once again. Hermione pushed her body against his.

"Draco..," she purred.

She reached up and tucked a few loose strands of blonde hair behind Draco's ear. Draco's eyes softened and he silently began to pray that this was real.

"I love you, Hermione."

She smiled warmly and unattached her body from his. She skipped happily away, the image slowly fading.

Draco turned around and around, his mind screaming for the mirage to come back. A mysterious hand grasped his shoulder firmly. He turned around and let out a gasp. Yet again, it was Hermione. Only this time, she wore a mournful expression. She wore a black dress and her hair was tied up in a bun. She stepped forward and enveloped Draco in a soothing hug. She laid her head on his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry, my dragon," she whispered.

Her hands rubbed his back in a soothing manner and Draco savored the moment. His father had died at the time they had been dating and Hermione was there to comfort him. Lucius had died in the hands of his master for 'betraying' him. The reason, no one knew. But the body was there to confirm he had been murdered the old fashioned way with numerous hours of muggle torture.

Hermione stood on her toes and kissed Draco's forehead lightly and mumbled in the kiss. They continued to hold onto each other as if the world was ending. The moment was interrupted when Draco heard a cough for attention behind him. Reluctantly, he let go and behind stood another Hermione. He looked back at his mourning Hermione and saw that she had disappeared. Again.

Draco stood straight and looked at the present Hermione in the eye. She held a nervous, yet solemn expression and she ringed her hands. A couple of her long elegant hair became loose and Draco reached out to fix it. But as his hand neared, Hermione stepped back. Draco's expression became somber as he realized what -this- was. He, too, stepped back. He did not want to relive this heartbreaking moment of his life.

"Wait. Don't move," came Hermione's voice. Her voice was soft, but firm. Her eyes flared with frustration and held determination.

"No," Draco stuttered. His heart was crying and soon, his eyes were to join.

"Draco, please."

"No, Hermione! I won't! I'm not going through this again!" He screamed and stepped back, but stumbled and landed on his side. He looked up to see Hermione looking down at him with confusion.

"Again? What do you mean?"

"No!"

That did it. He let the tears fall and his body shook with sobs. Hermione looked down at him with pity but held the determination in her eyes. She had to do it.

"Draco, it's over. I don't - "

"NO!"

"- have enough time for a boyfriend. I'm sorry. I - "

"Please no..."

"- hope you understand. You deserve - "

"No..."

"- someone so much better than me. I'm - "

"There is no one better than you..."

"- so sorry. Please understand."

She faded, leaving Draco alone with his heart crushed again. His sobs pierced through the silence and he could do nothing else, but cry.
