Will you remember me?

Don't let your life pass you by

Weep not for the memories

The June breeze blew across their tear stained faces as they sat by the lake one last time. It was the end of their Hogwarts career and they might not see one another ever again. Hermione Granger was going off to Beauxbatons to teach Transfiguration. It had been her lifelong dream to become a teacher, but she never knew it was going to be this hard saying good-bye. Ron Weasley had been drafted to play for the US International Quidditch team. He had been excited, but now, it was a different story. Harry Potter was going to stay in England. While his friends went off to other parts of the world, he was to be stuck here working day to day as an auror at the Ministry of Magic hunting Voldemort. It had been a trying last few days when the realization of leaving eachother finally hit.

Remember the good times that we had

Let them slip away from us when things got bad

Clearly I first saw you smiling in the sun

Wanna feel your warmth upon me

I want to be the one

They had been shocked to find out that the school was going to reopen for their seventh and final year. The trio hadn't been planning to go back, but Mrs. Weasley, Lupin, and Tonks insisted they go. And now at the end, they didn't want to leave. The school had been their home away from home for the better part of the past seven years--Harry especially. And now they were to leave it...forever.

"Well, I guess we'd better get going, the train leaves in fifteen minutes," Hermione whispered, getting up from the ground.

"Yeah," Ron replied following her, "Harry, you coming?"

Harry had been gazing across the lake to where Dumbledore's body lay. Had it really been only a year since they laid him to rest?

"I just can't believe we're leaving it. And we're going separate ways, we might never see eachother again," Harry said wiping tears from his green eyes.

"Don't be ridiculous mate, of course we'll see eachother again!" Ron said, looking incredulous at Harry.

"You never know, with Voldemort still roaming about. And I still haven't destroyed all the horcruxes yet!"

Hermione sighed, "Harry, don't worry about that now. I will see both of you at Christmas if not sooner."

"But 'Mione, that's almost six months from now!" Ron yelled.

"Come on, don't fight. Let's just get on the train, we've got ten minutes to get there," Harry said checking his watch.

They gave the school and the grounds one last look before heading out the gates to the rest of their lives.

I'm so tired that I can't sleep

Standing on the edge of something much too deep

It's funny how I feel so much yet cannot say a word

We are screaming on the inside oh we can't be heard

The trio, Ginny, Luna, and Neville stepped through the barrier together, one last time. On the other side they met the happy faces of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley along with Fred, George, Mrs. Longbottom, Mr. Lovegood, and Mark and Cecily Granger, Hermione's parents. After the hugs and kisses of welcome, it was time for the last good-byes as well.

"Bye, Ron," Harry said through tears, hugging the tall redhead.

"See you mate. I'll owl you and Hermione both when I get to the States."

Harry then went to give Hermione a hug, "Bye Hermione. Keep those kids in line."

She laughed through the tears, "I'll try, I'll try. You be safe now, and if you need any help, don't hesitate to owl. I'll be here in a blink of an eye. Same for Ron."

So afraid to love you more afraid to lose

Clinging to a part that doesn't let me choose

Where once there was a darkness, a deep and endless night

You gave me everything you had oh you gave me life

They all--Neville, Ginny, and Luna included--had one last group hug before they all left the station. Hermione was to be headed home and then on a flight the next morning to France. Ron would be apparating the next day to New York, and then to Atlanta where he would start training. Harry would stay here and in a month be starting Auror school, along with Neville. Luna and Ginny would hang around at the Burrow until school started up the next year, but nothing would be the same without the others. For the rest of their lives nothing would be the way it was.
