After the beginning of the Dark War, students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were forced to make a choice. Choose to be blinded by past differences, or choose to look towards the future with clear eyes, new friendships, and hopeful futures. This choice fell upon two such enemies, Hermione and Draco. Two completely different people, looking for the same satisfaction that they both longed to find. Through sad events, these to foes came together and began to find that satisfaction. Here we find them in their quest, all under an April sky...

"Do you ever wonder what happens to us when we die? I mean does it all just end or is there something more?" Hermione pondered to Draco as they lay on the grassy slope.
"Well, many believe that there is no afterlife. To them, death signifies the end. But on the other hand there are those who see death as the doorway into heaven. Death signifies not only the end, but also a beginning- the start of something new and wonderful." Draco replied.
"So which one do you believe in?" Hermione replied slipping under Draco's arm as the cool night wind began to glide over them.
"I don't know. I mean I guess I never really thought about it before." Draco stopped and looked up at the stars. Hermione could see that he was being honest with her now. It was something that he hadn't always done in the past. Finally after several minutes of silence Draco looked at her. "You know Hermione, I've seen a lot of people in my life die. Some I loved and some I hated, but no matter what I always wished them on to a better place."
Hermione looked back into Draco's eyes. They were full of so much pain, yet so much healing. She had never seen him this way. He had always been so strong and secretive which was what she had been attracted to in the beginning. But now, lying side by side, she just wanted to hold him and tell him that everything was going to be all right. She couldn't quite figure out what to say and she sat there wondering how to tell him how she felt, when she realized that Draco was saying something to her. She thought for a moment and replied with, "Well if you believe in heaven then you must believe in hell."
The silence came over them once more until Draco spoke. "No. I don't think there is such a thing as hell. Everyday people put up with all the shit that life throws at them, and it wouldn't be fair if they were put into an eternal place full of darkness and pain."
"But what about all the bad people in the world. I don't think that they should be rewarded for all the things that they do. What if I went out tonight and killed a man, should I be allowed to go to heaven?" questioned Hermione.
"Heaven isn't just a reward. It's a place of peace and content. You have to wonder what happened to a person, to make them want to kill another human being. They could have so much anger in them that killing the person who hurt them might be their only release."
Hermione thought about Draco's father. He had caused Draco so much pain in his life. She wondered if he would have killed his father, had he not found the peace he had been looking for. She brought herself back to reality, looked into her lover's eyes and whispered. "That's true Draco, but there are those who kill for other reasons."
"There are countless reasons why a person would kill another person, but in the end I think that everyone will go on to a better place when they die no matter what". He said this with such a force that it made Hermione pull back in awe. This was not the Draco she fell in love with. This was someone passionate and new. Eventually she would find that she loved him more.
They lay there together looking up at the stars well into the night. A wonderful peace had come over them both and they welcomed it. Over the past year they had endured so much grief together and it was a nice change not having to think about their stressful lives.
For some, time moves all too fast. But throughout that night, when Hermione laid in Draco's secure arms, time seemed to stand still. The calming sound of crickets near the water and softly blowing wind soothed the two troubled souls into a world of their own.
