In our times of trouble
We only had ourselves, nobody else
No one there to save us
We had to save ourselves
They had been through so much together. Not only physically but emotionally as well. They had lost so much; friends, love, and hope. But throughout it all she knew she had him, as he had her. They had to rely on each other. Because if you couldn't count on your best friend, who could you count on? Sometimes she felt guilty, because she knew she couldn't give him all the support he needed. He had the weight of the world on his shoulders. A hundred people couldn't support that weight.
And when the storms came through
They found me and you, Uh back together
And when the sun would shine
It was yours and mine, Yours and mine forever
After the final battle, she found him lying next to a big boulder drenched in his own blood, half-conscious. She screamed his name in fear, and received a small smile from him in return. As tears ran down her face, he apologized. He apologized for leaving her to live life alone and told her he loved her. That was the first time he had ever said that to her, probably the first time he ever said that to anyone. She refused to let him go and threw herself next to him, holding him to her chest. Soon his blood covered her face, skin, and robes. She didn't know for how long she laid there next to him. This was boy she loved, only she realized it too late. He was down to his last few breaths, and she prayed for him and herself. Suddenly, a white figure appeared. At first she thought it was an angel but at second glance she realized it was Dumbledore. Her prayers had been answered.
Oh how the years go by
Oh how the love brings tears to my eyes
All through the changes, the soul never dies
We fight, we laugh, we cry, As the years go by
He recovered, it was an extremely long recovery but he recovered. She stayed by his bedside faithfully remembering carefree times, when the most important thing on her mind was studying. But now, everything was different. Voldemort was dead, Ron was dead and so many others had lost lives. All in one night, that one night of terror. He had almost died as well. She squeezed his hand and tears streamed down her face. She didn't know how she could have possibly lived without him.
There were times we stumbled
They thought they had us down, We came around then
How we rolled and rambled
We got lost and we got found
Now we're back on solid ground
Now years after the Final Battle, they have finally come to terms with it. Together they spent nights warm in bed remembering the good and the bad. She can finally talk about Ron without crying, although it pains her inside. Together they have built a home for themselves, a home of love, trust, and caring. And finally the day had come when they could make their love official. Make their devotion to each other public. If only Ron could have been there.
We took everything
All our times would bring, In this world of dangers
'Cause when your heart is strong
You know you're not alone, In this world of strangers
She pushed all sad thoughts aside as she walked through the doors. At first she looked down at the red carpet, but soon she heard his voice in her head. Look up, it said, Look up. She lifted her head and met his eyes, feeling a surge of confidence; feeling the strength she needed to make it down the rest of the aisle. When she reached him he was just looking at her. Looking at the woman he was ready to spend the rest of his life with.
Oh how the years go by
Oh how the love brings tears to my eyes
All through the changes, the soul never dies
We fight, we laugh, we cry, As the years go by
After the ceremony was completed, he made a toast. It was a toast to Ron and all of the other people lost in the fight against Voldermort. But it wasn't a mourning toast, instead he spoke of all the memories he had. Some memories were sad, some happy, and some humorous. She smiled up at her husband who had the entire room captivated by his story. This was the man she loved.
And if we lose our way
Any night or day
Well we'll always be
Where we should be
She knew that their life together would not be perfect; there were always people that would try to hurt them. Also she knew that they would argue. But she also knew that he would always be with her. That no matter what he would always be there for her.
I'm there for you
And I know you're there for me
Their love was so strong. It ran deeper than just romance, it was based on friendship. They had seven years of just friendship and they knew each other inside out even before they were a couple. He knew her likes and pet peeves. She knew his deepest fears and dreams. He knew her darkest secrets but loved her anyway, as she did him. That is what made up their love.
As the years go by
You know you're not alone
In this world of strangers
Hermione knew she would never be alone, not with Harry in her life.
