...and the list went on. Hermione wrote to the ministry and as she was leaving Malfoy Manor she got a reply. It stated that he job was complete, and she could go. It also had a bag attached to it which contained a very large sum of money. In her heart she had almost wished that they had made her stay longer, to stay close to Draco, but she had been released, and she had to go.

She had found an apartment in the daily prophet which was ready and waiting for her. She had notified her landlord for her old apartment, and she was on her way to the Weasley's. She took a long look at the manor, then apperated to Diagon Alley.

Draco on the other hand, had no clue what was going on. Swamped with work for the raid he was too busy to even be thinking about Hermione. He hated to be away from her but he had to be.

Hermione landed in the Leaky Cauldron as usual. She went out the door and headed to the Weasley's place. As she reached for the door handle she heard shouts from outside. She silently snuck in and over listened to the conversation.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVEN'T SEEN HER IN A WHILE? AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE'S CHANGED A LOT? I THINK I WOULD KNOW MY BEST FRIEND!" Screamed Harry's voice from the other room.

"Best friend? whatever..." thought Hermione, as she went to the thought of the last time she had talked to Harry and Ron.

Back Flash

Hermione had just been informed that she hadn't been chosen to be an auror. She was mortified, and what made it worse was that her two best friends had been chosen.

"Hermione, we'll see you after the war," protested Harry.

"Yeah," agreed Ron,"It's just too dangerous for you to be around Voldemort's Worst enemy at the moment. Especially, with you being, you know, a muggle-born,"

That is what really set Hermione. She didn't talk to them the rest of their seventh year, and she hadn't had any contact since after the graduation. She truly was mad about the whole thing. Thankfully Fred and George were there. they started hanging around a lot in Seventh and got to know each other really well. they became her new best friends.

End of Back Flash

Hermione was brought back to reality by more shouting. This time it was Fred's voice, it was only the second time Hermione had ever heard him shout. the other time was when he was yelling at Ron for basically dumping his friendship with Hermione. This time it was also at her defense.

"WHY SHOULD YOU CARE? IT'S NOT LIKE YOU EVER TALK TO HER! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HER ANYMORE!" He screamed.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE'S NOT MY FRIEND!?! I WAS ONLY TRYING TO PROTECT HER!!" Harry bellowed back.

Now Hermione felt like she needed to Intervene but she waited to see what Fred's response was.

"YES, WELL A DAMN GOOD JOB YOU DID OF THAT!! DID YOU KNOW SHE'S BEEN WORKING AS A DEATH EATER FOR THE MINISTRY? SEEMS SHE CAN TAKE CARE OF HERSELF, AND IF SHE CAN'T HER PARTNER, DRACO MALFOY CAN!" Fred spit back.

Hermione didn't know what to think or say. how could he tell Harry? She knew he would find out sooner or later but still. She waited quietly for Harry's reply.

"What???" said Harry in almost a whisper, so that Hermione had to lean closer to hear.

"You heard me," replied Fred.

"I don't understand," said a shocked Harry.

"Well, you wouldn't, would you," said Hermione Walking in.

"HERMIONE!" said Fred.

"Hermione?" said Harry looking astonished by her new look.

"Yes?" she replied, playing it cool.

"How much did you hear?" asked Harry.

"Enough," she answered.

"Hermione, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it." Harry said

"Of course you didn't Harry, but what Fred said is true. Now if you would excuse me, I need to get my clothes from the room upstairs. Wow, did it just get hot in here, or what?" She said rolling up her sleeves so that her dark mark was visible. then she walked out of the room upstairs, leaving a gaping Harry, and a concerned Fred.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After Hermione got her stuff from the Weasley's she said a short Good bye to Fred and George (who had came home while she was upstairs) and left, without a saying a word to Harry or of where she was going. She headed over to her old apartment and gathered all of her stuff which was quit easy with a few charms. She then headed over to her new apartment on Salazar's Street close to where the Muggle University Oxford is.
She found her new apartment to be very spacious and yet very cozy. She spent the rest of the day getting unpacked and looking around the small town which was made up of Four intersecting streets; Salazar's Street, Rowena Road, Helga Ave, and Godric Lane. There were many neat shops, one that particularly interested Hermione, was the very large Book shop. Hermione had quite a fun day considering her circumstances. She had lunch at a small diner called the Chamber of secrets and then she headed back to her apartment.
After putting the book she bought on the coffee table she went over her list. She had almost forgot to put a non traceable spell on her. She quickly pulled out her wand and muttered,
NON TRACABIL
There she said, and then she fell asleep in her plush black chair.
Draco finally got away from his work, after writing many owls and going over and reover plans and more plans, he headed home.
As he entered the house he bellowed, "HERMIONE, I'M HOME! HERMIONE? YOU UP THERE?"
When he got no response he headed upstairs to look for her. An hour later he had searched the whole house with no trace of where she had gone. He decided to look outside, just incase. As he stepped down the path he heard a soft crunch under his left foot. He looked down and say a crumpled paper. He picked it up and began to read:
Dear Miss Granger,
Due to the facts you have recovered for the Ministry you have now completed your mission and are free to go. Please take this endulgance as a thank you from all of us,
Sincerely,
Minister of Magic
Arthur Weasley
That makes no sense, though Draco, How could the ministry know all of the information we had found out. Then it hit him. Hermione was trying to get away. He couldn't let that happen, again. He quickly ran back to the manor and pulled out the wizarding tracking device which seemed to be becoming more and more useful. He looked for a good thirty minutes but no matter what he did or told the device to look for, she didn't come up. Draco finally gave up hope. He then sank down into his favorite Black leather chair, and fell asleep.
The next several days pasted by without anything out of the ordinary happening, until one morning.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hermione woke up feeling miserably sick. She ran for the bathroom nearly missing the toilet. She felt dizzy and could barely see straight. She kept throwing up and was in her bathroom almost the entire day. Finally it seemed that she was feeling better and she felt like she needed to lay down, so she slowly got up, and made her way to her bedroom. As she began to walk she suddenly became dizzy again and grabbed for support of anything she could reach. As she came to the bed she tried to cross the room but as she was so dizzy, she could barely see and suddenly things went black. Hermione slumped to the floor inches away from her bed, nearly dying, with no friends in the area, and with no one able to find her. Little did she know, that, that night was exactly two weeks since the night that she had made love to Draco.
