Author's Note:
the song is one day by simple plan. i did not write the lyrics. this fic is dedicated to all my esv buddies...and STA.

Sometimes this house feels like a prison
that I just can't leave behind
there's so many rules I got to follow
'cuz you can't let it go

**I'm so tired**...and he was. Tired of his father dominating him and his mother. Tired of his father breaking down the mental barriers that were put up every year at school. Tired, because he knew nothing else to be. And he was tired of not having the kind of friendship that everyone else seemed to have.

I don't wanna hear it
And I just can't believe it
All the stupid things you say but

Draco was waiting. Waiting for his father to finally realize that no, he didn't want to be a Death Eater. Sure Draco was a bastard, but he was a bastard who didn't want to kill people. (A/N: and he's a hot bastard!) It was different now... he was in love with the least likely of people. It was odd, really, talking to Ginny Weasley. Becoming friends with Ginny Weasley. Falling in love with Ginny Weasley.

One day I won't take this anymore
One day I'll be old enough to do what I want to
I won't have to run away
And you won't be there to say I'm not allowed to
One day

There would be one day when his father would regret making his mother go insane. Not yet. Not while he was dependent. But he would. After becoming a spy and once Potter had saved the world again, he would seemingly vanish off the face of the earth. And he would keep contact only with Ginny unless...

Sometimes I wonder if you know me
Or if you just pretend to care
Tell me are you on a mission to bring me down?

Unless his father was killed. Until then, he would figure out how to do the deed. Nothing was too painful enough for his father to die. For making his mother go insane. For making him almost go down the same path as his mother, until he re-met Ginny. Nia, really. Nia only to him, and D only to her.

Go away
Don't look at me
'cuz we're not the same
And you can't do nothing
You can say
That it's not ok
But I'm not afraid
And you can't do nothing

And for killing his baby sister. Nothing could be painful for that "human". Nothing. And it would all happen. When was the question, not why or who or where. That was all that mattered. And it would happen.

One day...

Five Years Later...

"Hello Father."

"Draco." His father didn't get up from the bed. How could he? He was dying, anyway.

"How are you?"

"As well as can be expected, considering I'm dying," he snapped.

"Oh yes. How long has it been now, father?"

"The poison will kill me today or tomorrow."

"It will kill you today, father."

"How do you know? You don't even know what kind of poison it is."

"Really?" Draco smiled enigmatically. " Let me ask you a question, father. How long has it been since mother died?"

"Why should you care?"

"She was my mother. That's why I care."

"I don't know. Around six months, hasn't it been?"

"Actually father, yes it has. Six months exactly."

"You gave it to me, didn't you." It wasn't a question. It was merely a statement.

"You caught me."

"I see. And this is for..."

"Everything father. Everything. But if you want to be specific, I'd have to say making mother go insane, thus killing her, killing my baby sister, and making me almost die the same way mother has."

"Well, I suppose you have good reason. Did you have to use such a painful poison?"

"I could have picked a nice, quick one, but the Ministry would have gotten suspicious."

His father muttered something along the lines of "Damn Ministry. Damn Draco."

"Oh, and father?"

"Yes, son?"

"I'm marrying Ginny Weasley. See ya. Oh wait, I won't. I'm not going to rot in hell." With that, Draco walked out of the room.

A Weasley?...Well at least his son was a lot more clever. With that final thought, Lucius Malfoy took one last breath and died.
