Chapter one: The boy in the window

It was a dull boring day on Privet Drive but that was far from unusual.

Harry sighed as he thought about all the dull boring days like today he was going to face before going back to the place he belonged to: Hogwarts.

He thought about his two best friends, Ron and Hermione, and how he could not recall the last letter he had gotten from them. He finally remembered Hedwig bringing a letter saying that they would see him soon.

Soon... Soon? He wondered what their idea was of soon when that had been nearly a month and a half ago.

He scratched his head and took off his glasses. He pulled out his wand to repair them but caught himself. He wasn't supposed to use magic out of school. "Shoot," he said and then grinned.

He had laughed because it reminded him of his broomstick, the Firebolt for no particular reason.

He walked over to his closet and unlatched the door, well maybe that was an understatement, he thought, he more like wrestled with it.

The latch had been put into place by Vernon Dursley after he had broken out in his second year with the help of Ron and his older brothers.

Vernon, his wife Petunia, and Dudley their son were Harry's only living relatives. That is until Sirius Black had come along.

Harry thought about how he had saved Sirius' life from getting his soul sucked out by a dementor.

He felt happy at the thought that he would get to go with Sirius and live with him once his name was cleared. He was finally going to have family. Not family like the Dursleys who starved him and did not pay attention to him. Not like the Dursleys who told the neighbor that he went to a school for boys with mental and abusive minds. Not the Dursleys who had never given him a good childhood or hugs. But real family who cared about you. Real family who risked everything for you.

Someone like Sirius.

Harry sighed. Right now the whole Wizarding world believed that Sirius Black was a mad murderer. On top of that he was the first to ever escape from Azkaban. He didn't have a very good reputation, Harry decided. Who know's how long it will take to clear his name? And it was all Fudge's fault. Corneilius Fudge had started all the rumors of Sirius Black being Voldemorts head man. Harry shu Chapter one: The boy in the window

'Where had that come from?' he wondered. He had laughed because it reminded him of his broomstick, the Firebolt.

He didn't have a very good reputation, Harry decided. Who know's how long it will take to clear his name? And it was all Fudge's fault. Corneilius Fudge had started all the rumors of Sirius Black being Voldemorts head man. Harry felt his temper rise. He detested Fudge for his unjust decision to send the only person who had been close to a father to Azkaban without a trial. He had given him a straight ticket to the dementors. All the people in there just wanted to die, aside from the Death Eaters that were planning to escape to go and rejoin with the Dark Lord, it was a terrible place.

How could Fudge have given him a one way ticket to death, no not death, that would have been a privilege. But no he took him to Azkaban and let the dementors suck the soul out of him?

The only thing that had kept Sirius alive, not to mention sane, was the fact that he was innocent. He knew he would never betray Lily and James. Or that he would kill thirteen people with one killing curse.

Or any of the other crimes he was wrongly accused of.

The only thing that he had done, however, was break out of Azkaban, where he shouldn't have been anyway.

Harry sighed. 'No use in getting upset about that,' he reasoned. Sirius was out and alive and hopefully Harry would get to see him soon.

Harry strode out of his room, Dudley's second bedroom, hoping to look casual, because casual was not anything to do with what Harry was going to do.

Yawning he stretched and set down his newspaper. The smell of fresh brewed coffee was all to tempting to keep reading about all the junk in the Quibbler.

"What is it today? Someone bewitching toilets to regurgitate?" the werewolf called out.

" Honestly, you would think that they would write something worthwhile, or maybe the fact that Voldemort is back again. Who writes this junk anyway?"

"Do you know Luna Lovegood?" Remus Lupin called out.

"Yes, but what about the person who writes the newspaper that should be recycled before reading?" Sirius asked impatiently, waiting for an answer, he started to do Remus' pet peeve, tapping his foot.

Lupin scowled and continued, " Luna Lovegood's father writes it. She is a bit strange isn't she?"

Sirius finally remembered. Luna lovegood had dropped by with her father and muggle mother to

Volunteer to volunteer to be part of the Order of the Phoenix.

Her father had been babbling about some sort of magical creature that was beheaded after been voted dangerous, and had still lived. He had wondered what on earth he was talking about but a more important question, why?

"Anyway what about Harry. You know that plan that we talked about yesterday?" Remus had

lowered his voice to almost a whisper.

Sirius nodded. Albus Dumbledore had come up with the plan for Harry.

Remus continued " Anyway we will have to take it in action. Tomorrow at sunset. I've heard rumors.

Remus did not need to say anymore. He nodded and with a swish of his coat, he was off. He went upstairs. He grabbed the mirror from inside his dresser that had been there for a while. He had given the other mirror to Harry the year before, right as soon as he had found out that Harry was in the

Triwizard Tournament.

He looked at it directly and took a big breath of air and choked on the dust that he had inhaled as he mumbled "Arry Cotter" He realized of course that he had made a horrible mistake as the mirror swirled and swirled and just when Sirius thought he was going to be sick it came to a stop. He saw a tea house. There was no one there except for a girl and a guy (who Sirius assumed that Arry Cotter) and were having a fight. Just as Sirius was going to turn away he heard the girl say something that surprised him and he could not help his curiosity. He listened for a while and after they had left Sirius rushed to tell Remus what he had heard.

About an hour later Harry saw something in his trunk lighting up and glowing. On the ceiling were swirls.

He looked inside his trunk, dug around for a while and found a mirror that Sirius had given him. On the back Sirius' had scribbled, use this if you need me.

Or course Harry had used it many times before but he wondered what Sirius needed to tell him that was so urgent. It never had glowed that brightly.

He picked it up and was calmed by his godfather's face. He was overjoyed to see him again, for he had been very busy with the Order of the Phoenix lately.

Harry could not resist. "When can I come see you? I want to get out of here! I want to be with you, Sirius. Please let me come stay the rest of the summer with you!"

Of course I want you to, Sirius thought, and since I have been so busy lately, I think I should pay a visit to my only godson.

Sirius grinned. He was going to enjoy this. He pretended to think for a minute then ran downstairs to check his 'busy' schedule. He ran up and said that he was free that weekend. "Pack all your things and send me an owl when you are done and I will get on my Firebolt and be over in a few minutes."

Sirius went upstairs and washed the sheets ( magically of course) and put everything away. He wanted his godson to feel at home, especially because he was going to offer Harry a bed in his house for the rest of the summer.

It was the first time that he found himself watch his magical wizard television, in front of the window waiting for the snowy white owl.
