- Okay...like I said, this has nothing to do with my other story!!! I actually like this one a lot better, and I am a HUGE fan of Harry/Hermione stories. This is for the class of '04 cause I miss them terribly.
What if I told you
It was all meant to be?
Would you believe me?
Would you agree?
It's almost that feeling,
We've met before.
So tell me that you don't think I'm crazy
When I tell you love has come here and now.
Hermione was in the back room of a small chapel in Ireland getting ready for her wedding. She had on a gorgeous white dress. It was strapless and poofed out a little bit. She never did like wedding dresses that had big hoops. Her hair was half up, half down with soft curls cascading down her back.. She wore sapphire earrings that matched the sapphire necklace she had on. She had white heels that were bewitched so they wouldn't hurt her feet. This was the day she had been dreaming about all her life. Ginny, Lavender, Aicha, and Kelly surrounded her. They were her bridesmaids except for Aicha who was her maid of honor. They each had gorgeous blue dresses on. Hermione had instructed them on what color she wanted the dresses to be, but let them choose the dresses they wanted to wear. She liked it better that way because then no one would secretly hate a style of dress for them to wear. She looked down at her engagement ring. The ring Harry had proposed with 16 months ago.

Hermione had apparated to Harry's flat for a "special dinner" as he had told her earlier that day. He told her to dress up. She assumed that they would be going out for dinner...it being their 4 year anniversary and everything. Once she arrived though, she realized that they wouldn't be going anywhere. There were roses all over the place, some in bouquets, and some were just rose petals on the floor. The lights were off, but there were candles all around the room. They were placed on dressers, and many were floating in the air. Harry soon appeared in the room smiling as he saw her.
"I'm glad you're finally here. I've been waiting all day to see you," he said happily. She smiled and laughed.
"You saw me this morning!"
"Yes...but that was a long time ago. Too long ago." He walked up to her and gave her a passionate kiss. Then he clapped his hands twice, and music started to play. It didn't take Hermione long to identify the song. It was her favorite, "As Time Goes By" which was in one of her favorite movies Casablanca.
They sat down by the table he had set up in the middle of the room. He poured them each a cup of champagne. Pink champagne to be exact. She was happy to see that he remembered a detail from another one of her favorite movies, An Affair To Remember. They spent the dinner talking about their day and about their time together as a couple. Once they were through, Harry cleared the plates with a wave of his hand, and then two slices of chocolate cake appeared. He knew her weakness...chocolate. There was a strawberry on top of each slice. Once they were through eating, he cleared everything off the table. He led her over to the couch and told her to sit down. He held her hand in his and then got down one knee. She gasped as she realized what he was about to do.
"Hermione, I've loved since the end of first year, and I had a crush on you from the first days I saw you till the day you agreed to go out with me.. My life was void of love until I met you. You're friendship has always been cherished, and your love has meant more to me than anything else in this world. I don't know what I would do without you in my life. Of course Ron was always a good friend, but he could never give me what I needed. True love. I can't imagine what I would do without you. You are my world. When I first saw you, I was afraid to talk to you. When I first talked to you, I was afraid to like you. When I first liked you, I was afraid to love you. Now that I love you, I am afraid to lose you. Please, Hermione Ann Granger, will you marry me?" And with that he pulled out a box and opened it up. Inside was a beautiful engagement ring. It was platinum with a small diamond in the middle. There were two sapphires on the ring, one on each side of the diamond. They were in the ring, while the diamond stuck out. Hermione never liked huge diamond rings, and Harry knew this. Sapphire was also her birthstone.
"Harry...of course I'll marry you!" Tears of happiness cascaded down her tears. He smiled shyly and gave her a kiss. She could feel his heart beating wildly and noticed that it matched her own.
Everything changes but beauty remains
Something to tender
I can't explain
Well I may be dreaming,
But till I awake
Can't we make this dream last forever
And I'll cherish all the love we share.
Present
Harry had finished putting on his tux and looked over at Ron who was having a difficult time tying his tie.
"Dammit," he muttered. "Blasted things...never could figure these things out." Harry laughed. Ron turned toward him, his face red with frustration. "Why are you laughing? It's not as though your tie is tied!!!" Harry looked at his best friend.
"I know...but it's fun to watch you fight with inanimate objects." Ron grumbled good-naturedly.
"Like you haven't had a good fight or two with your shoes?" Harry blushed. He looked at himself in the mirror. He liked the tux he had picked out. Black pants, white blouse. Silver vest, silver tie, and the black tuxedo jacket.
"Geez...I'm jittery," Harry stated.
"I know. I can tell," Ron replied. Harry grinned.
"I can't believe we've made it this far. I remember proposing and everything. Then everything leading up to today...it's been a lot of work...but I know it's worth it. Every last detail."

Leading up to the wedding...
For the most part, Hermione tried to keep calm. She knew that with careful planning, and by keeping on task, she could get everything done on time, and they wouldn't have to pay for a wedding planner. She decided that she wanted to have her wedding in Ireland. She had been there as a graduation present. It was gorgeous, and she knew that it was the perfect place for her wedding.
Hermione made sure that Harry was active in helping to plan the wedding. He helped pick out the flowers, he chose the kind of tuxes he and the groomsmen (and best man) would wear. He helped to send out invitations and planned where everyone would sit. He tasted the different kinds of cake and together they chose a five layer chocolate cake with white frosting and red flowers along the edges of each layer. He even came up with the idea of having an extra room for the children who would be attending so they would have a place to play. They decided to have the reception in Hermione's backyard. Her parents agreed happily. He took careful planning and added their fireplace to the Floo Network. But just for the one day. He even bewitched it so that once anyone came out, their clothes would be clean. Hermione chose the flower girl (Ginny and Draco's little three year old) and Harry chose the ring bearer (Charlie and Danielle's five year old boy) and things ran well..
Despite careful planning, Hermione did run into problems here and there just like every wedding. Of course it was more towards the big day when time was very tight. Sometimes things would get so stressful, she would start to cry. But whenever that happened, Harry would take her into his arms, stroke her hair and tell her to take a break. Then together, they would work through any problems they faced. All in all, things worked out well.
Could this be the greatest love of all
I wanna know that you will catch me when I gall
So let me tell you this...
Harry was now waiting nervously at the alter. All of the groomsmen, including of course the best man, were at the back of the chapel pairing up with the bridesmaids and the maid of honor. He looked over at the Weasleys who were all smiling at him. Mrs. Weasley looked at him fondly. She felt as though he were her son. Mr. Weasley gave him the thumbs up sign. He then looked at his godfather who was also dressed up in a tux. Harry had offered him position of best man, on Ron's orders, but he politely declined saying it was a job for the youngest Weasley boy. He told him that it was a position meant for his best friend, and although he loved him dearly, he would feel better in letting Ron take that roll. What he did offer was to be an usher and then watch the wedding with the Weasleys.
Procession music began to play, and the flower girl entered followed by the ring bearer. Everyone let out "awwwws" as the two were very adorable indeed. Then came Aicha and Ron, then Ginny and Draco, Lavender and Justin, and finally Kelly and Dean. Of course Ron would've preferred to be with Lavender, his fiancée, and Aicha would've preferred to be with Justin, her fiancé, but they knew that the maid of honor and best man should walk down together, so they said nothing. Once everyone was in their proper places, the wedding march started, and Harry felt his heart leap in his chest in anticipation.

Everyone stood up, and Harry felt his heart thump wildly against his chest. He gasped when he saw her. Hermione...his soon-to-be wife. Although she was wearing a veil, he could see she was smiling. Her father had link his arm with hers, and they slowly made their way up the aisle.
Hermione knew it was a short walk, but it felt like it took her forever to get there. She could feel all eyes on her, but she was looking at only one person...Harry. She could feel tears brimming, but she willed herself not to cry. Not yet anyway. She was finally next to Harry, and she moved her veil away. They looked deep into each other's eyes.
The minister the announced "The Declaration of Consent."
"Do you, Hermione Ann Granger take this man to be your husband; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
" Do you, Harry James Potter take this woman to be your wife; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." The minister looked into the crowd.
"Will all of you witnessing these promises do all in your power to uphold these two persons in their marriage?"
"We will," they all answered.
"Now, the couple shall recite their own vows as they have requested to do so."
"Harry, I've been in love with you so long, but I never get tired of seeing you because each day is like a new adventure. I'm glad I met you that first day on the way to Hogwarts. I don't know where I would be if I hadn't. And now that I look back on it, I'm glad that you and Ron saved me from that troll, otherwise, we would've never become friends. I know I always seemed like a know-it-all, but that's because I was too afraid to show you that I really loved you. First Corinthians chapter 13 verses four through seven says, 'Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.' And as I look upon our relationship, I see that it consists of all of that. I've known for a long time that we were always meant to be together. I was once told never to settle with the one I can live with, but go for the one I can't live without. And Harry, I could never survive without you in my life." Harry had tears in his eyes. He was surprised by how much composure Hermione had. Her voice had been strong and confident, he just hoped he could be the same.
"Hermione, I spent so much time trying to write the perfect vows. But it wasn't easy. How could I tell you how much I love you, when there aren't even words to describe this feeling? How can I tell you how much you mean to me, how special you are, or even how beautiful and wonderful you are? No woman could ever come close to how amazing you are. And because I still don't know how to say how much I adore, I know that I'll just have to show you in the years to come. I promise that I will spend the rest of my life loving you and showing how much I care. And hopefully by the time we die, you will see just how much love I hold for you. And they always say, 'till death do you part' but I know that we'll last even beyond that. Love is when you don't want to go to sleep because reality is better than a dream. And if I could last forever without sleep I would, just so that I wouldn't miss a moment of you." Harry was pleased he had managed to get through his vows. His voice had gotten shaky, and he could see the tears were now falling down Hermione's cheeks.
Once again the minister spoke. He now held up the two rings.
"Bless, O Lord, these rings to be sings of the vows by which this man and this woman have bound themselves to each other. Amen."
Hermione took the ring and placed it on Harry's ring finger on his left hand.
"Harry, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you, in the Name of God." Then Harry took the other ring and placed it on top of Hermione's engagement ring and smiled as he wiped away his tears.
"Hermione, I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you in the Name of God." The two were smiling and still wiping away the tears.

Ohh...like this....
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." Harry looked down at his new wife and gave her a kiss. Everyone smiled and cheered happily. Hermione knew that this was the one special kiss, and this was the moment she had waited for.
Author notes: I got the wedding dress and earrings and necklace from my best senior friend who recently graduated. at my school we have to wear wedding dresses for graduation, and that's what she wore, so I put that down. And I've never been too keen on the whole "huge diamond rings" so yeah. I know the verse that Hermione recited from First Corinthians is in "A Walk to Remember" but I first read it before I had seen the movie or read the book, and I always knew I wanted it to be in my wedding.
