- In no way do I own the name Saberhagen. As some people may have noticed, Saberhagen comes from Sabrina the Teenage witch's cat, Salem. I just like the name.
Chapter 1
993 B.C...
"Rowena, you mustn't," said Godric. I can't believe you."
"I am not going to let that old loony take over the world with his dumb no-Muggle-borns rule. I'll make sure his heir gets stopped some kind of way." Rowena sighed, pushing her long black hair out of her face.
"Rowena no," Godric called, but too late. She was gone.
***
After days of travel, Rowena came to a deep forest where people were building a huge castle. A woman dressed in navy blue and black was yelling instructions at the workers. Rowena approached her.
"Er....Ma'am?"
"What?" she snapped, and Rowena jumped.
"Do you know Salazar Slytherin?"
"That old coot, he was my fiancé but he left me for some dumb viewpoint he had. My name is Natasha Neptune and I'd do anything to get back at that old konk."
"Yeah," said a man, dressed in scarlet and gold. "She's telling the truth. Stupid old bat he was. I'm Shawn Saturn, and I have been trying to tell her that anyone in her house is going to be made fun of.."
"Shut up Saturn," Natasha snapped. "So, what do you want to do for us?"
"I'll help you get a mascot Shawn," she said, completely ignoring Natasha, who was scowling.
***
"Hello???" called Rowena. She squinted around in the darkness. A voice spoke.
"Woman, you just woke me up..."
"Yeah I wish he was still sleeping..."
"Shut up!"
"Put a sock in it!"
"Hey hey hey," Rowena said, slowing down. I need you guys to follow me."
***
"Awww," said Ursula as she stroked Tygerius's fur. What a cute house mascot you'll make!!"
"Cool Rowena!" said Shawn joyfully as he hugged Leo.
"Aww, I am really going to get him for abandoning you for a stupid old snake," said Natasha to Draconius.
"Your mine," said Juliet.

The Present...
The wizarding world was falling into a state of complete chaos. Voldemort had regained most of his power, and he thought that he would be soon breaking open Azkaban.
People were scared. They didn't know a group of children would be saving them. And one of these children had to discover her own path, her own life.
Melissa was torn between her families. Her mother's family didn't believe in her father's support of Voldemort, and they kept trying to tell her mother to move away from him. But, as her father said, they would kill them if they left so they stayed in fear for their lives.
Melissa felt as if she couldn't trust anyone. Her mother would tell on her if she was trying to help the good side, cause it would surely get them in trouble. Draco was a tattletale too, so he would tell on her and she would be the one getting in the most trouble.
Two nights ago she watched her father perform the pain-giving curse on her brother, because he threatened to run away. They had to act as if nothing were wrong.
She went to bed crying every night, hoping for someway to save them. She had a feeling something would save them soon. She just had to hope.
***
Harry had found that they would be visiting Hogwarts' sister school, Saberhagen. He wondered why they never heard of it in History of Magic class, or why Hermione hadn't mentioned about reading it in Hogwarts, A History?
He was opening his mail, and there were two letters, one from Ron, and the other from Hermione. He read Hermione's first.
Dear Harry,
I can't believe Hogwarts has a sister school!! I didn't see it anywhere in Hogwarts A History maybe its in a Revised Edition or maybe they just noticed it. Anyways Harry, I can't wait to see you at school there. Ron says he isn't so sure. Maybe we will learn in the classes we will be taking there!
Can't wait to see you,
Love from
Hermione
P.S. Ron's a Prefect. He told me last week.
"Ron a Prefect? After all the time he used to like making fun of Percy?" Harry laughed to himself, and picked up Ron's letter.
Dear Harry,
Guess what!!!! I am a prefect!! And Hermione thought she was going to be one. Not even close she can't touch me! Now I can boss you guys around just like McGonagall does. Can't wait to start bossing you around!
Did you hear that we are going to some weird school called Saberhagen? Well I hope their Potions teacher isn't like Snape, I'd die if he is.
See you soon,
Ron
Harry smiled at Ron's letter and put it aside, just as a girl on a broom came flying toward his window. She had long dark hair and bright blue eyes.
"Hello Harry Potter, I am a Saberhagen Student that has been sent to retrieve you." She smiled.
"Aren't the Muggles going to see you?"
"No no, they can't I mean I'm invisible to them. Only you can see me on this broom. Get your Hogwarts stuff."
"Okay." Without any questions, Harry trotted off to get his things. The girl waved her wand and Harry's things floated neatly behind her.
"You have a broom?" she asked. "Yes," said Harry, and indeed he was holding his Firebolt.
"Lets go!" she shot off across the sky, and Harry panted with the effort of keeping up with her.
"Slow down please!!" he yelled. Harry looked below himself, and saw that they were flying over London, but the Muggles didn't seem to notice them at all.
Harry was tired by the time he looked down again. He then saw a thick forest and a..
There was a castle tower with a huge red flag. On one side there was a golden lion and on the other side there was the planet Saturn. He saw a green flag, with a white tiger on one side, and the planet Uranus on the other. Then there was a black flag with a navy blue dragon and the planet Neptune on it. And on the last flag which was baby blue, there was a bronze eagle and on the other the planet Jupiter. They were all separate towers. He saw the biggest castle ever swim before his eyes.
"Oh, everyone gets goggle-eyed when they see Saberhagen. It is one of the largest schools in the world." The girl told him.
"May I ask what your name is?"
"Persephone Ravenclaw. And if you are thinking 'is she related to Rowena Ravenclaw the founder of Ravenclaw house, the answer is yes. In fact, she's one of my great-grandmas."
Persephone grinned, and then she dived for the tallest tower. The windows opened and she soared through them, landing perfectly.
"Gran, I went to go get Harry Potter!" she yelled, and a woman dressed in the most expensive clothing Harry had ever seen came walking up to them.
"Hello Harry. I am Majel Ravenclaw, Saberhagen's headmistress. I am pleased to meet you."
Harry bowed slightly. This caused her to laugh. "Oh you are ever so polite young man. Well, the rest of the Hogwarts selects are going to be here soon."
"What do you mean selects?"
"I received a list from Dumbledore telling me what students would benefit from visiting Saberhagen. You were on it, as well as your friends Ron and Hermione."
"How'd you know they were my friends?" Harry was shocked.
"I know everyone's business when I meet them. You live with some horrible Muggles don't you? I think they are your Aunt and Uncle and your fat oaf of an cousin, right?"
Harry could not believe what he was hearing. "You are correct," he said, still unbelieving. "And oh, half the school is on my list...no all of the school is on my list. They'll be getting here by train, the Hogwarts Express. Saberhagen students will arrive via Starstreaker Express, and you see what we mean by starstreaker."
***
Persephone showed him around, and then she went into the Dungeons. Harry saw a figure clothed in black billowing robes hurry past, and it sounded like they were holding in fury.
"Blasted brats are back again soon.. I haven't got that lesson plan ready... well they'll just have a review quiz on what we've learned so far..."
"Er..Professor, this is Harry---
"I don't have the time Ravenclaw..Go!" the person huffed up the stairs and was gone.
"Who was that?" asked Harry.
"That was Selena Spencer, Saberhagen Potions mistress."
"I don't want to cross her.." Harry said.
"Everyone's here now. Come on!" they hurried up from the Dungeons and wound up on the main floor. Children dressed in black silk robes were laughing and giggling and two of them with bushy red hair were going around making jokes on people.
"Misty and Marissa stop it!" hissed another voice. Harry looked down. A girl of about Ginny's height and stature looked up at them, and she had the same bushy red hair.
"Mum is going to kill you if she finds out!"
"Hey Cassidy," said Persephone. "This is Harry."
"Harry Potter? Hi Harry."
"Hi Cassidy."
"I saw a brown bushy-haired smart-ass over there talking to the king of all smart-asses," she said, looking at her sisters.
'Brown and bushy hair?' thought Harry. "Are you talking about Hermione Granger?"
"Yeah, that's her name." Cassidy grinned. "Why?"
"Cause she's my friend." Harry looked a bit unhappy.
"Oh sorry, but the name suits her. MISTY!!!!! STOP!!!" and she ran off.
"What's up with her?" asked Harry.
"Ignore Cassidy. She has a nickname for me too. It's Saberhagen's Girl."
"Why?" Harry was paying attention for a moment, but then he turned his head. It seemed as if all the boys were turning their heads. Even Ron paused in the middle of his conversation with Hermione, who harrumphed.
A girl with stunning gray eyes and long blond hair, flanked by two 6" girls walked into the room, stopping in front of Harry and Persephone.
"Hey Sephie," she said, and she flushed when she saw Harry. "Hi Harry."
She pulled Persephone away and said, "How dare you talk to Harry he's mine!"
"I wasn't trying to flirt with him and you know it Melissa."
Harry wondered if they were arguing about him, but he waved it off. As they looked to the front of the room, the woman dressed in expensive clothing was sitting on the staff table in front of her chair, swinging her leg. She pushed a lock of hair out of her eyes and spoke in a smooth, warm voice.
"Welcome to Saberhagen. You will be learning some of the most difficult and out of practice magic in the walls of this castle. Melissa, will you tell everyone what they will be studying?"
Melissa stood, and everyone's eyes were on her, especially Harry's.
"Well, we have all of these: Transfiguration, Potions, Divination, Care of Magical Creatures, Arithmancy, Charms, History of Magic, Astronomy, Telepathy, and Elemental Studies." She sighed, and swiftly sat down.
"Thank you Melissa. Now, tomorrow, all of you will discover amazing things. Schedules will be passed out tomorrow. Most of the classes use the same books you already possess. The other two, we will give you the books free of charge. Now, it's time to eat."
***
A girl stood in a dark forest, it draping over her like a cloak. She shook, from fear, and from cold. Her eyes watered painfully.. Someone came over to her and unlocked her chains, the hood of their cloak falling away from their face. She looked up into startling, green eyes, full of concern. She glimpsed a lighting shaped line on their forehead, before she collapsed into their arms.
Melissa sat up. She felt cold, and so she pulled the blanket around herself, tighter. This wasn't the first time she'd had that dream, actually, she'd been having it since she heard the Dark Lord was back and got to meet him in person during the summer.
She rubbed her eyes, and stood up. She crept from her bed and walked up the stairs out of the dormitory into the Common room. She approached her favorite sitting chair, and plopped down on it.
The next minute, she had left, fully clothed, walking down the hall with her lit wand, all the way to the end of the fourth floor where a huge double-door stood, with two enormous planks of wood nailed across them, with the words DO NOT ENTER: UNSAFE: FORBIDDEN written on them. She reached under the board and pushed the door open (only she and a few other kids knew how to get in) and crawled under the plank. She stood up, and shut the door behind her, reactivating the alarm charm so it would still appear to be unsafe.
Walking down the dusty, spider-ridden corridor, Melissa came to a stop in front of two huge oak doors, and she pushed them aside.
'I know I shouldn't be coming here but it's the only way, why didn't I have thought of it sooner?'
She stepped in, and looked around. Silver banners hung across the walls. On one side of the room, a huge picture of Melissa's family (Lucius, Narcissa, Draco and herself) was on one side, looking happy. On the other side, there was a picture of her mother shielding her children from a group of men in black clothes, wearing masks.
In the center of the room there were three statues. One was of a baby girl sitting on the floor, dressed in a frilly set of robes. The middle statue was of a young girl standing; wearing robes that weren't so frilly, and the next was of a teenage girl, dressed the way she was now. Melissa's eyes rose to the arches above her. She looked at the pictures, mainly of her torn family. She stepped towards one of them and stuck her hand through it, getting pulled in.
She was sitting in the vast hallway. Apparently she was at Malfoy Manor, days into the future, she knew it was. It was the year following. She heard screaming and then she saw her mother running, and then falling dead with her father standing over her, looking very evil.
"I am now the most powerful. Even Voldemort fears me." He said, and he laughed with a high-pitched cackle that made Melissa's hair curl.
'I hope that doesn't happen in the future,' she stepped away, and fell over the frame.
"Ouch!" she looked around. The statue of her present self was holding its heart with tears coming down its cheeks. It showed how she felt at that moment.
"Mother...NO!" and she began crying and screaming.

"Melissa, where were you this morning?" Sydney looked across the table and put her hand over Melissa's. "You've got me and Ash worried sick about you again!"
"Yeah you should worry, cause my father is one of the evilest men alive," she said with a sigh.
"You didn't go back to the Hall again did you?" Ashley asked, folding her arms. "How many times does Professor Ravenclaw say not to go there?"
Melissa sighed again. "Guys, I had that same dream again.."
"Not that one with the people in gold robes and the green eyed--wait a min. that person in your dream is Harry Potter!" Sydney burst out.
"SHUT UP! Everyone's staring!" hissed Ashley. "Maybe you should tell Professor Spencer about your dream so she can help you find what it means."
"Yeah, like that will work." Melissa looked over at Harry, who was now laughing because Cassidy spilled her OJ on Hermione, and they were now fighting.
"You heifer!" screamed Hermione, her tone rising.
"Bitch you better watch how you talk to me! I am not a heifer. That position is already filled by Pansy Parkinson." Cassidy screamed, and she knocked Hermione off her chair. Now they were fighting and Harry was laughing so hard and gripping the table so tightly that his knuckles were turning white.
A stack of papers was coming down the table. Harry passed one over to Ron who promptly sighed.
"We don't get out of class 8:30 P.M, of course with breaks for lunch and dinner. This is a schedule Hermione would like.
Cassidy scowled and said to Harry, "I can't stand your smart-ass friend. Tell her to stay away from me." And Cassidy left.
Harry didn't hear her. He was watching Melissa with look of worry.
'It's going to be okay, Melissa.' He thought.
Chapter 2
Harry, Ron and Hermione, (who was still mad at Cassidy) were walking down the corridor to the dungeons. There was Melissa again, flanked by her friends Sydney and Ashley. They all strolled into a room with a shabby looking door, which looked as if it had been knocked off its hinges a couple of times.
There were rows of desks with spaces between them, with cauldrons sitting in them. Fires were aglow under them, and everyone was taking their seats. Some people were across the room chatting with friends. But then, they heard the clonking of someone's boots on the hard stone floor. The door burst open with such a force that it fell off its hinge again and was hanging there.
"No wonder the door's broken," whispered Ron. He winked at Harry.
"There is and never will be any wand waving in my class so lets get that straight now." The person told them as she strolled to the front of the room and stopped. Her lavender eyes were cold as she looked at the class.
"One-ity-bity-little-mistake will get you detention so fast your head will swim. I am Selena Spencer, and I am your worst nightmare." One of the Slytherins laughed under their breath. She seemed to notice, as it was Pansy Parkinson. Pansy looked horrified as Professor Spencer's eyes moved to her.
Pansy then screamed, clutching her wrist. She began to cry very badly as Professor Spencer's gaze got harder. All the children were hushed.
"Little Miss Pansy had to show off and now you see what happens to showoffs in this class." Ron gulped. He passed Harry a tiny note that said: God, she's worse than Snape is! I have never been terrified in a class!
Harry gave a slight nod, and he shuddered when Professor Spencer snapped at him.
"Mr. Potter, I have a question for you. What are all the ingredients used in making Veritaserum?"
All the Saberhagen kids raised their hands and one boy was waving his very high.
"Call on me Professor!!" he shouted over the other students begging to be called on.
"Sit down Inoue, and shut up, that goes for all of you brats. Mr. Potter?"
"I don't know ma'am." Harry said, looking at his feet.
"God, you Hogwarts kids are stupid. There's no way you'd be ready if Voldemort--
Everyone shrieked except the children from Saberhagen. "Don't tell me that you are afraid to say his name. Look I don't have reason to be afraid." Everyone was listening now.
"I am an ex-Death Eater. I know all about him and his ways. I still have the Dark Mark on my arm. I was one of the ones that would watch the older ones do all the stuff. I left in my first year. So I have no reason, and I have told all my students this. Now, back to my question.."
Timothy Inoue's hand was in the air again and Cassidy harrumphed.
"Fine Inoue, answer the question."
"The ingredients in Veritaserum are: three jobberknoll feathers representing what people do to cover up the truth, water, three drops of phoenix tears, and a spoonful of your own tears, produced by real crying and not onions (everyone laughed) brewed for six and a half hours." Timothy smiled, and looked pleased with himself. Everyone could hear Cassidy mutter, "Smart-Ass-Inoue," and they ignored it. She was jealous of him.

It was now time for a class Harry, Ron and Hermione had never heard of. It was Telepathy. The Telepathy classroom was in the west tower and taught by Lucinda Smith. Harry climbed up the ladder to a clean room. The desks were in a circle, and several kinds of objects stood on the floor inside the circle of desks. A woman with dark brown hair and light green eyes stood in the center on top of a table. She was about 5" tall.
"Hello students. I would like you all to sit down and open your Advanced Telepathy books to page four. Put your wands away cause you will not need them."
There was a buzz of talk among the Hogwarts students. Seamus was wondering what they were going to do. Hermione was deeply immersed in the first pages of Advanced Telepathy. Harry opened his book to page four and his eyes stopped at the top of a likely paragraph.
Telepathy is one of the oldest magical arts. It outdates the use of the wand, when wizards began to discover they were magical folks. In case you have forgotten (or you don't know) Telepathy is the art of doing magic with your mind. All most every spell and charm can be done with your mind and without a wand. One example of such charms is the levitation charm, Wingardium Leviosa.
All you have to do is say the words in your mind, and repeat them to yourself, until you can think with out hesitating. Then your object should begin to float.
"Today, we were supposed to have our little Telepathy review quiz, and we left off on the Alohamora Charm. If you are from Hogwarts you can try, but if you fail it won't count against you." Professor Smith began calling off names.
"Hermione Granger," Hermione stood up, her knees shaking, and leaving her wand on her desk she strolled to the middle of the room.
"Now," said Professor Smith, try to open every window and the door without your wand."
Hermione tried and tried, but she only managed to get one out of the twenty-six windows open. Professor Smith smiled at her and said, "See me."
Then it was Melissa's turn. She got up and walked to where Hermione had stood, and she kept her eyes open. "Are you ready?" asked Professor Smith. "Yes."
Melissa looked at the classroom windows. Harry saw her mouth the word Alohamora to herself.
The windows burst magically open. Everyone cheered and clapped. Then after twenty-five minutes, it was Harry's turn.
'Don't freak out Harry, you can do this,' he told himself. 'Just concentrate..'
'Alohamora..Alohamora..Alohamora!' Harry opened his eyes just as he felt a rush of energy go through his ears. The windows burst open, all at the same time. Everyone clapped and he heard someone call his name.
***
"Wow, that was the coolest class I ever had," said Harry with a grin. "I think we have it twice.."
"That class is only for kids who need help. I do," said Hermione. "I can't even concentrate my magical energy into one point."
It was lunchtime, and afterwards the students had an hour break to study, to have fun, or to socialize. Harry separated from Ron and Hermione and decided to go to Hogsmeade to think.
He was walking along the hall that exited the school and then down the road that lead straight into Hogsmeade when he saw Melissa. She was sitting on the ground, her eyes closed tightly.
"Um, excuse me," he said. Just then, Crabbe and Goyle with their patron Draco Malfoy strolled over.
"Eh Potter, my sister don't wanna talk to no Gryffindor trash, do you Melissa?" Draco asked. Melissa opened her eyes to say something, but she couldn't. Crabbe picked her up as she screamed and tried to get down. Crabbe slammed her to the ground, and then..
"STOP!!" Harry yelled. He balled his fists and then he noticed Crabbe had begun to float in the air. Harry flung him over the fence and he heard a splash. Draco and Goyle ran to get him. Melissa sat on the ground staring up at him.
"Thank-y-you," she sputtered, pulling herself to her feet. Melissa looked at Harry with tearful eyes and then she ran away before he could say more.
***
"Hermione, you will not believe this," Harry said as they sat in the Saturn common room around the fire. "Draco Malfoy has a sister."
"He's an only child from what I've heard McGonagall say. I think she and Dumbledore were here arguing with Professor Ravenclaw about the subject," Hermione said, sucking on a lollipop. (The sugar free kind) Crookshanks was asleep in her lap.
Persephone burst in, a fury emitting from her. She grabbed Harry and said, "YOU! Come with me!"
This was the girl that had been so nice to him before but she was now bullying him around. He was totally shocked.
She pulled Harry along, with him protesting along the way.
They walked into a room, apparently the hospital wing, and a girl was sitting on one of the beds, and Harry could hear her sobbing.
Persephone left; locking the door with a magical charm only she could break.
"Hi," Harry said, walking over to Melissa, who looked at him with sad eyes.
"Hi Harry..." Melissa didn't turn her head.
"Do you know why you are here?" she asked him.
"No."
"Well," Melissa began, "It's because I am falling in love with you Harry Potter."
Harry blinked. He never thought a girl would like him. He glanced at Melissa. He thought about the fluttery feeling his heart got when he first saw her. He just wanted her to be his at that moment.
"And my falling in love with you is making me crazy. I can't concentrate on any thing because I'm afraid you'll reject me cause you don't like my brother." She put her hands to her eyes and began to cry. "Everybody thinks my family is just a bunch of Muggle-born haters. I like Hermione. I think she's cool I like Dean too. I just wish people could like me."
"Melissa..." Harry said, listening to her carry on like that. "I wouldn't reject someone cause I didn't like their brother. I hate Draco's guts but I could never hate you. You are to kind and pretty to be hated."
Melissa's gray eyes were shimmering with tears. "But if my father finds out he'll use me to get to you because you care about me."
Harry moved to close the space. He found himself talking to Melissa's earlobe. Gently he put his arms around her and whispered, "Who cares about your father, we'll deal with him soon enough."
And then he kissed her. Melissa felt the color rise in her cheeks. She felt Harry's hand tangle in her hair. She wrapped her arms around him.
***
"What the hell are you smiling for?" snapped Ashley the following morning.
"I got what I've wanted all this time."
"And that is?" asked Sydney.
"I got Harry Potter."
"NO WAY!!" Sydney and Ashley yelled in unison.
"Did he kiss you?" Ashley asked.
"Yes he did. Hey, I shouldn't be telling you guys, I'm keeping the rest of it to myself!"
"Aww, tell us the deets Melly!" Sydney begged.
"NO!"
***
"Harry's been very quiet lately. He's been staying away from us. He sits with Persephone, Cassidy and Timothy now." Said Hermione, in a sad voice. "He's the fifth in the quintet. They used to be the quartet."
"How can it be a QUARTET when there is only three of them?" asked Ron.
"I forgot Melissa, Malfoy's twin."
"They hang out with MALFOY'S twin? Talk about self-sabotage!" Ron said loudly, so loudly that Harry looked up. Harry stood and came over to him.
"Look Ronald Weasley, I don't give a damn because you haven't made one single new friend in this entire school. Even Hermione is friends with someone in the quartet. Timothy Inoue actually. She says his company is far better than yours." Harry turned and stormed away. Ron had never seen him that upset. Hermione sighed.
"Ron, Harry has a girlfriend. That's why he's avoiding you and not me. I just said he avoids me to make you feel comfortable. Get a girlfriend Ron." And Hermione left Ron sitting all alone.
"Harry what's wrong?" Melissa asked, slipping her arm around him.
"Ron hates me."
"Forget him! I mean Cassidy hates Timothy and they have been friends since our first year. She hates him now because of Hermione. It's all jealousy. If Cassidy and Ron got together they'd forget all about whom they were busy hating.

"Hmn...Narcissa!! Come here and bring a quill!"
Narcissa came with a quill. "What Lucius."
"You need to check off what we can go to and I'll send it back."
Narcissa didn't know that her sending that letter would have a problem right inside it.
