Draco and Me
Why would I, a muggle born with no magical history whatsoever be accepted to Hogwarts? I had never even heard of the place until the eve of my 15th birthday. I got the owl at 5 minutes past 12, on July 12th. It was the weirdest 5 minutes of my life. I was awoken by first the tawny owl with a letter of acceptance from Hogwarts. While still in shock another owl flew through my window. This one was large and silvery gray. It was from a family called the Malfoys. At the time I had never heard of them. They wanted me to come spend the rest of my summer with them. I sat up the rest of the night thinking about this.
The next day a man cam through my fireplace! Who is this strange (yet very sexy) young man standing in front of me? His hair was a silver-blond, much like the owl. I assumed this was the young son of the Malfoys.
"Hello. Are you the young lady I'm here to pick up?"
"Yes I am. But you can just call me Catie."

The Malfoys house, excuse me manor, was roughly the size of the White House, and just as pristine. Mrs. Malfoy insisted I call her Sissa. Mr. Malfoy, Lucius, looked me over, said, "Hmmmm. American? We may have to visit the land of the free and the home of the beautiful," and left me with a bewildered Draco and an ashamed Sissa. I could tell Mr. Malfoy did this on an almost daily basis.
Malfoy Manor had so many rooms I almost thought I'd have my own wing. But as it turned out my room was right next to Draco's. It was a huge room and could have easily housed all my friends and then some. I had my own bathroom and a balcony that connected to Draco's. He grinned mischievously when he showed me this.
That night I had dinner for the first time at Malfoy Manor. It was a very formal affair. Sissa had to lend me a dress to wear for it. Mr. Malfoy and Draco both wore suits and Sissa and me wore long gowns. It was like Cinderella's ball in the real world. The guests at dinner were a few of the neighbors. None of their children were my age. So Draco and I were left to keep each other company after the adults each questioned me.
When we finally got away from the adults and young children, Draco and I strolled through the gardens. I had never seen so many flowers in my entire life! I couldn't count all the different types of flowers I saw. But more amazing than the flowers were the statues. They were alive! They serenaded us as we walked past. It was all very romantic and I think Draco planned it that way.
After we walked and talked for over an hour we sat down by a fountain of nymphs (they were naked an frolicking!!!!). I was telling him about life in New York (Grand Island) when he leaned in and kissed me (!). I had never been kissed before so I just followed his lead. It was incredible. I couldn't bear it when it was over but Mr. Malfoy showed up with Mrs. Edwards hanging off his arm. They were trying to find a secluded spot and Draco and I were in it. We ran through the bushes trying not to be noticed. They didn't see us but it was close.
We returned to the manor and by then everyone had left. We had to go to bed because we were going to get our supplies in the morning.

In the morning we flew to Diagon Alley. It wasn't an actual alley, it was more like an outdoor mall. There were witches and wizards everywhere. Our first stop was the wand shop. The old wizard behind the counter kept muttering how strange as I found my wand (Unicorn hair and Pheonix feather).
Our next stop was to get robes. The tiny witch in that store also muttered under her breath. I thought it all very strange but I said nothing so I would not hurt the Malfoys' feelings.
Our final stop was a pet shop. Sissa insisted on buying me an owl so I could owl my parents whenever I wanted. As soon as I walked in a large gray owl with vivid blue eyes landed on my shoulder. He would not leave and would not let me look at the other owls, not that I wanted to. Sissa bought him and he ruffled his feathers like I was his and no one else's.
We spent the rest of break in London. I didn't have any time alone with Draco for Sissa insisted on taking me shopping and showing me the sights. Before I knew it, it was September 1st. Time for school!
