This Story begins in the Great Hall, at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ginny sits with her fellow classmates, her brother and his friends. They sat at their house table eating breakfast, when hundreds of owls streamed into the Great Hall. Ginny crossed her fingers under the table hoping there wasn't a howler from her mother. Lately, she had been sneaking out at night to go flying past curfew. Ginny looked up and saw an owl flying toward her. Ginny recognized the owl as a school owl, and curiously picked up the envelope the owl had dropped. Regretfully, she set the letter back down, only because it was addressed to a Lavender Brown. Ginny looked around to find her, but she was nowhere to be found. Ginny sighed and reached down to her book bag to pull out a piece of parchment.

Quickly, she scribbled on the paper.

This letter was addressed to Lavender Brown. Couldn't find her. Didn't read.

G.

Ginny laid down the quill and told the owl to send the letter back to the person who sent it.

When Ginny reached the Great Hall, she sat down next to Hermione and began eating, listening to her and Ron whispering about, most likely, their last night escape into the Room of Requirements.

After Ginny finished eating, she was about to leave when she noticed the same looking owl flying toward her with a letter tied to it's leg. Ginny sat back down, and freed the owl of the letter.

G.- thank-you for not reading the letter. It was very important, and private. You know what that's like, don't you?

H.

Ginny couldn't help but laugh at this person's openness. She, of course, would reply with,

I do know what you're talking about. I only wish you could choose who read your howlers!

G.

Ginny sent the owl off, and left the Great Hall to her potions class.

By dinner, Ginny and her mysterious H. had been sending letters back and forth, with each letter getting more and more personal.

H.- of course I'm in Gryffindor! How could I not be? And yes, I do have brothers. And yes, I am a girl. I'm in the 6th year. Which are you in? Do you have brothers or sisters? Are you a guy? You probably are since you were writing to Lavender Brown. Which year are you in?

G

.

After Ginny sent this letter, she crawled into bed, and fell found asleep.

When Ginny awoke the next morning, she found herself excited about getting letters from her "mysterious H". She quickly dressed and ran down to the Great Hall. She directed herself toward the Gryffindor table and squeezed herself between Ron and Neville. When mail started to pour in, she sat watching for the now familiar owl. Finally, as when their were fewer owls left, she saw the, in her opinion, a beautiful dark brown owl soaring towards her and landed gracefully.

Excitedly, she pulled of the letter, and read quickly.

G.- I'm sad to say that I'm an only child... lol. Although, I do have a best friend, and his siblings are my friends. = ) I'm in 7th year, and I am a guy. Oh! Are you in the DA? Hope you are, and make sure you go to the next meeting. Maybe I'll see you there. ;) Well, have to go.

Over the next few weeks, H. and Ginny had been owling each other nonstop, and it seemed they had an unspoken agreement that they would keep their identity secret.

Ginny sat in the common room one night, watching the flames thinking about the people H could be. She originally listed people that began with H, but then realized that was stupid, and listed all the people in Gryffindor. The girl only stopped to look up and see an owl scratching at the window. Ginny, excited like she usually got when she saw this owl.

G.- Who could you be?? It's really annoying me, not knowing who you are. How about we meet? Second Dance? By the drink table, 8 o'clock? Next to the punch? Hope to see you there.

H.

P.S. Sorry about such short notice.

It took Ginny all of herself to stop from screaming, and shouting with joy. Of course, she knew she knew she couldn't do this, for nobody except H and herself knew about the letters, and she didn't want Ron to ask questions.

H. Sure, the Second Dance. See you there.

G.

Ginny couldn't believe it. She, Ginny, was going to the Second Dance!!! She hadn't expected going, because the dance was tomorrow, but was happy anyway! She was going to meet her Quill Pal! Finally.

*******************

On the night of the dance, Ginny was extremely nervous, and was trying her best to make her old dress robes look the best they could look. After two hours, she had accomplished changing the color from dark blue, to a romantic pale blue, and added four inches to the bottom, so they would cover up her feet. To her hair, she had pulled it into a bun, and added a hair band with huge purple flowers that covered up most of her hair. On her feet, she put on her expensive shoes that had taken most of the money her father made that month. Thankfully, they still fit.

When Ginny was done getting ready, she walked down the stairs and into the common room. She found her brother and Hermione "together" on the couch. She coughed to announce her arrival. Ron looked up, and leaned over to whisper something in Hermione's ear. Hermione shook her head, and retuned to Ron. Ginny was confused, but ignored Ron, and walked down the to the Great Hall.

It was almost seven-thirty when Dumbledore got the attention of the attending students.

"Welcome, students to the Second Dance. We are all here tonight, to celebrate the final defeat of Voldemort." Several people shuddered at the name, but Dumbledore went on, "This dance, should end all of our worries, and relieve us of the pressure we've been under since the beginning of the Second War. I hope you enjoy yourselves." With that, Dumbledore began a conversation with Professor Sprout.

At five minutes to eight, Ginny made her way through the crowd. She positioned herself next to the punch table, and waited for her mysterious H.

At eight o'clock, Ginny felt a tap on her shoulder, and turned around. But what she saw, made her gasp. "H" was not who she thought he would be.
